If this involved just one or two accusers, if accusations didn't date back decades with the school burying them, if there were no witnesses who brought the matter up to school officials, if his own son did not accuse him, then maybe, just maybe, I might believe Sandusky might be innocent. But that saying, "Where there's smoke, there's fire." There wasn't just smoke here, any honest person who wasn't out to cash in on Penn State's football program could see that there was a raging fire. This school and its officials closed their eyes allowing children to be sexually abused for years so they could make money! They are all disgusting pigs and every single one of them who were involved in this cover up should be behind bars for life! That includes this woman!

By the way, I don't believe Paterno died because he was surprised and shocked by all of these allegations. I don't believe he didn't understand that some man could sexually abuse children when people came to him and told him about Sandusky - people have been abusing children for thousands of years! This woman is no different than so many other spouses who believe they know the accused better than anyone else. She needs to cling to her idea of who her husband was and cannot accept any other. This is very sad, especially when you consider that one of Sandusky adopted children is one of the accusers and Dottie herself has been implicated by at least two victims.

There is no mass conspiracy. Penn State may be a powerful institution, but a former Defense Coordinator isn't a head of state. To control this many people and the justice system, you'd need collaboration on an unprecedented scale. And Jerry Sandusky is not now and never was important enough to be framed at that level.

It's a simple matter of a very sick man being caught abusing disadvantaged children. A plea from his wife--however well-worded--changes nothing.

And Sandusky is spending the rest of his life in jail. I'm for the death penalty on this one, but as a citizen and resident of Pennsylvania, I'll take what I can get.

Many times he would give up much of his free time, which was not many hours when he was a coach, to make a sporting event of one of the kids he was trying to help. Sometimes we would drive two hours to spend time with these kids.

Throughout all this I feel so sorry for their son Matt. Imagine finally getting the courage to tell the truth against your own father, only to have your other family members essentially disown you. Sandusky seems to be proven guilty, and indeed his son's accusations should be believed. There is one thing about this case that bothers me though. The speed that the accusations started coming out and the fact that a good deal of this was over decades worth of time. One can not help but question both the accusations and the timing. I also get the distinct impression that this case had less to do with bringing Sandusky to justice and more to do with damaging the school.

The fact that Sandusky is where he needs to be seems secondary to other considerations.

I believe several people tried to expose it long before it finally hit the fan. No one would listen or follow up on it. This is what makes them all guilty to some degree.
