Subscribe to RSSPolice in California are asking for the public's help after a man was firebombed as he was sitting outside a store, an event that was caught on a surveillance camera. Some viewers may find the video disturbing. NBC's Kristen Dahlgren reports.
Police on Sunday released surveillance video showing a brazen firebomb attack that left a man with burns from the waist down as he sat outside a busy market in Southern California.
Long Beach police released the video to see if they can find the person responsible for the Friday night attack.
It occurred when a man in his late 20s threw a Molotov cocktail at the victim while he was outside El Paisano Ranch Market in the 200 block of West Pacific Coast Highway, said Long Beach police Sgt. Aaron Eaton.
The video shows a ball of fire as a man is seen running from the scene.

At the moment the bottle hits the ground, the fire explodes, barely missing a mother with a baby in a stroller.
The victim appears to be running through the parking lot where others can be seen trying to put out the flames.

The firebombing victim was taken to the hospital where he was in serious condition. He was medically sedated, with serious burns to the lower part of his body, his hands and his face, police said.
The man, who is in his 50s, was not being identified due to concerns about his safety.
Police said it did not appear the victim and suspect knew each other and the case was likely not gang related.

Eaton said the victim was minding his own business as he waited for his father to get food when the suspect came from an alley and threw a lighted bottle at him.
Anyone with more information about the crime was urged to call Long Beach, Calif., police at (562) 570-7260.

However, after all the pertinent Federal, State and Local environmental impact laws are complied with, the El Paisano Ranch Market will have killed 3 acres of trees filling out incident reports, spill reports, and containment and disposal practices followed.
Don't forget the taxes on ammo, (bottles and fuel). Just another piece of proof that not all violent crimes are comitted with guns and you don't stop violence by banning guns.
I do hope that the victim makes a full and speedy recovery. Burns are some of the most painful and slow healing injuries. Many leave horrendous scars for life.
This is another way for a criminal to mame and kill, thank God he didn't have access to a greater weapon. Fortunately the baby in stroller left his gun in his other diaper or he would have disposed of this coward properly...
Well its certainly clear what simply must be done . Gov. moonbeam has got to introduce a bill to ban fire.

Not knowing who the suspect is or anything about him, how can they possibly say that the victim and suspect don't know each other and it isn't gang related?
Sounds like a PC attempt to spike the expected outrage at gang violence out of control in the area.

There may be 10,000 ways to die, but it only takes one to kill you. What I can't wrap my head around is those who have no regard for a person's life. The pain and suffering that is cold heartedly dished out to someone like they are worthless. How can that cruel person live with themselves? Soulless beings who seem to exist for no other purpose than to create misery for others. Too bad we don't have islands to leave them on to fend for themselves with others like their kind. That's an easy one to answer. The advertisers pay MSN more to make you watch it than you pay them to not have to watch it. They win. Thereby you are stuck watching it.
I don't mind watching and listening to ads of 15 sec. mute the 30 second ones and refuse to watch the 31,32,33 ... ads. Not going to stand for incrementing the length over time. Sometimes the Ad is longer than the video and you have to watch the same ads over and over.. They take control of the computer (adobe flash) and you cant replay the video if you missed something. pretty lame ..
Let me see. Mass killing in Milwaukee, a child dismembered in Colorado, another child snatched in New Jersey, but somehow, this crime has something to do with the politics in California or the fact that California has a large hispanic population. Politics and racism, meanwhile some poor man is fighting for his life and, if he survives, will probably spend the next year or more undergoing the most excruciating medical procedures and all you clowns can manage is nasty cracks about California and brown people. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
This event was not a Crime because crimes make some sense. It makes no sense to do this to someone. lots of chin music here but to no avail. When you take away weapons you don't like line guns, the alternative is not so pleasant.

It's going to get worse. People without jobs, have a lot of time on their hands. Lots of time to think, to comprehend. To allow their anger to boil seath and boil over. Until that time where their anger has a non-constructive use, and that they take it out on their fellow man.
Murder rate is starting to alarmingly rise. Along with suicide. Rape is going up, along with kidnappings. Drug and alcohol abuse is starting to rise at a steady pace since 2009.
It's only going to get worse.
Funny how someone actually does this after a popular TV show show FBI trying to find guy who did this in the recent episode .
In a proper world, the attacker would be put to death upon being convicted.
