in reply to antistupidity. You Know on these discussions it really dont matter what we discuss even if it is cooking bacon or drinking bottled water without fail someone will bring in the politics, usually one sided either left or right. Then comes religion, to be followed by immigration or hatred of it and of course somebody will pull in the race card, for what reason i dont know. Hurricane is neither black or white. have a nice day.

      Now we see pictures from the situation room. Where was the President on SEP 11, 2012. I would like to see those pictures of him not working to save the four Americans.

          Plenty of notice, storm aiming right at Atlantic City, warnings from the Governor, and what does the Mayor of Atlantic City do?

          Encourage people NOT to leave and instead stay in a shelter located 1 block from the bay -- which is now underwater. Brilliant!

            That's why I can Understand people questioning authority on this. Normally I just want to see people get out of the way but some of these shelters are right in harms way.

              It is a good thing that we have one of the greatest presidents in this countries history not that idiot Georgie Bush with Dick the Dick Chaney as his main adviser when this country is experiencing something like this. I still remember that Stupid Comment by Georgie during Katrinia to his nonadviser Brown. "Good job Brownie" when New Orleans was being divested.

              This president will keep people save and help them rebuild their lives. I am looking forward to going to Nathan's hot dogs in Coney Island this summer. The fat governor of New Jersey is probably worrying that his buffets will be closed for a while, not about the people. He could care less about the people of New Jersey.

                        A more accurate analogy would be; republicans (kid bullies) whine their balls aren't big and bouncy enough (haha), while the liberals (good kids) all have to share a marble. The point being, republicans will never be happy and will always be greedy, while liberals are left to pick up after the republicans and make use of what they disregard, in some instances maybe even make it better, or as my and SGreen's analogy would have it, make playing with a ball the most fun it can be. Being more of a liberal myself we can only hope the republicans pass us the ball a few times, so far they have been stubborn and have not wanted to share with President Obama, effecting us all in a detrimental way, except the rich and mega rich. An odd comment on a weather related article but that's the way the internet works these days. Be safe and have a good day.

                          Governor Christie's comments were both callous and downright mean. Exactly what I would expect from a Republican. I can understand that at some point you can't send help. I understand that he may have had different ideas than the officials in Atlantic city, but none of that excuses his mean-spririted comments. Shame on you, Governor, for your typical Republican blame-the-victim callousness.

                          Not mean-spirited - just the stark reality that people are going to die if they ignored warnings. This is an unprecedented convergence of several severe weather systems at full moon with high tide. This is an enormous storm over an unbelievably large area.

                          Have many friends in a number of the affected areas and prayers for the safety of all.

                                          So sad to see all the property devastation. Seeing things we've never seen before - 17 inches of snow in west virginia, beloved coastal landmarks flooded and washed away... just hoping damage to human life and safety can be kept to a minimum. Thanks to the first responders and everyone else helping out We're all east coasters today. Let us know what you need.

                                          It's early in the season but 17 inches of snow is NOTHING to West Virginians.

                                            Inland Maryland;

                                            We went through strong winds last night and much rain, eye is almost on top of us at the moment and calmer than last night we have about 8 more hours of it as it turns and head north. We came through ok I know many of those around us had it much worse, prayers are with them. I'll volunteer later this morning if there is any need for help here.

First off,there are people dying,people under water,fires and the like.They have no clue at this point as to what they need,but Romney is milking this for all he can get.How in the hell does he expect to get all these donations to where they are needed and half of which they probably don't even need.This guy is a jack ass !!

                                            To quote a woman from the Bronx, "If hurricanes are so dangerous, why do they have them?"

                                            It's the same with solar eclipses, lady. Also earthquakes and tornadoes.

                                              I thought this was a blog for people to show their damage or ask for help after Sandy's impact. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who were affected by this storm. I have been there, living in Florida, and know what you are going through. Seek all the help that is offered and remember you can replace things, not lives. Be careful, because a lot of deaths occur after the storm from debris cleanup. Don't go into standing water it could be electrified. Drink bottled water only even if your local agency has not told you to. After the flood waters go down and all is checked will the authorities know if your water supply is safe. DO NOT cook inside with a grill or run a generator inside. IT WILL KILL YOU with carbon monoxide. Use flashlights instead of candles to prevent fires. Check on the elderly to be sure they don't need any help. A lot of people don't like to ask for help but will take it when offered. Most of all, be kind to each other and you will get through the recovery.
