A Naperville, Ill., woman who allegedly stabbed her son 100 times and a girl 50 times told police there were "devils" inside the children that she needed to kill, according to a prosecutor.
At 40-year-old Elzbieta Plackowska's bond hearing Thursday morning, DuPage County State Attorney Robert Berlin explained Plackowska's alleged comments. "She stated the children had evil inside of them and she was trying to drive the devil out of them," Berlin said, according to NBCChicago.com.
Police say that on Tuesday Plackowska fatally stabbed her 7-year-old son Justin 100 times and 5-year-old Olivia Dworakowski 50 times, according to the Chicago Tribune. At the time, Plackowska was babysitting her son and the girl at Olivia’s home in Naperville, about 30 miles west of Chicago, the newspaper reported. She allegedly told the kids to kneel and pray before stabbing them, NBCChicago.com reported, and also told her son that he was going to heaven.
Prosecutors say both the kids' throats were slashed, the Tribune reported.

After the murders, Plackowska tried to go to a Naperville church but found it closed, so she left a message on its answering machine saying she had done something bad and needed assistance, Berlin said, according to The Associated Press. Covered in blood and with scratches on her hands, she went to a friend's home where her other, adult son was staying and told them that she had been robbed, Berlin said.
Prosecutors say Plackowska initially told police a stalker broke into the townhouse and committed the crimes, the Tribune reported.
Plackowska later told police that she stabbed her son to death to hurt her husband who "didn't appreciate her," according to NBCChicago.com. She said she killed the girl and two dogs because they witnessed the crime, NBCChicago.com reported.
Berlin said investigators found two blood-stained knives; one in the kitchen sink at the townhome and another in Plackowska's car, according to the AP.

"In all my years in law enforcement, this is the most gruesome and horrific crime scene that I have seen," Naperville police Chief Bob Marshall said at the news conference, according to the AP.
Plackowska is being held without bond on two counts of first degree murder, NBCChicago.com reported. Berlin said Plackowska has no prior history of violence, the AP reported.

I have to say there is no way they are going to let her get away with the insanity plea. What MSNBC is not reporting is that one of the knives the police found was bent ALL THE WAY OVER (Source: Chicago Tribune). Also, several of the investigating officers had met Olivia on her first day of school (also in the Trib) and had lunch with her. They aren't going to let her plead insanity without one heck of a fight.
I can say, I can imagine what these two children were going through, and they probably pleaded and begged until their little bodies could not take no more. It cannot be said enough, you need a license to catch a fish, drive a car and even for some jobs, but anyone can become a parent. Its time that we take a good close look at that, not everyone is cut out to be a parent. This really sadden me, because I cannot believe that these two children 7 and 5 could of don't anything to even think that they are possess with evil, because they are angels.

"Insanity" is strictly a legal term, it is not used in clinical psychiatry. The definition of insanity is the inability to comprehend that one's actions are wrong. Deceit, lying to cover what one has done, is reasonably interpreted as comprehension of wrong doing.

I'm sorry but that is not religion. That, is psychopathic rage akin to Lizzy Borden or the Melendez brothers. I don't buy the religion thing. There isn't a week goes by that some parent hasn't tried and succeeded to burn, drown, cook, cut, shoot, toss, hack or whatever the kids that doesn't show up in the news somewhere. What would you call this? An honor killing? No such thing; that is a phrase penned by some idiot of a journalist to sensationalize a tragic story. Don't buy that one either.
This is a woman who is ill-equipped to have children and raise and nurture them. Kids are not easy and we all face the dilemmas of raising children at all ages and levels. This is a person under the influence of some organized religion/force or whatever, that believes that the bad can be brought out and eliminated. So sad for the children and for the less than equipped. This is a no win and pathetic situation. This is a scenario for all to many of our parents.
This is one of those news stories that just makes me stop cold and wonder how anyone could do something so evil. People who intentionally hurt children are especially despicable. Someone who would do something like this deserves the death penalty.

It has been my experience that many psychologically damaged people find refuge and peace in religion. That being said, when you get an idiot minister who constantly pounds on the idea of the devil, and a parishioner who is imbalanced enough, this kind of thing will occur. And it has in one form or another since the start of religion. Pastors and ministers in small towns do not understand their responsibilities fully.
See? Violent psychopaths don't always use firearms. The NRA can certainly use this kind of news story, as opposed to the more common, inevitable gun rampages.
