A Naperville, Ill., woman who allegedly stabbed her son 100 times and a girl 50 times told police there were "devils" inside the children that she needed to kill, according to a prosecutor.
At 40-year-old Elzbieta Plackowska's bond hearing Thursday morning, DuPage County State Attorney Robert Berlin explained Plackowska's alleged comments. "She stated the children had evil inside of them and she was trying to drive the devil out of them," Berlin said, according to NBCChicago.com.
Police say that on Tuesday Plackowska fatally stabbed her 7-year-old son Justin 100 times and 5-year-old Olivia Dworakowski 50 times, according to the Chicago Tribune. At the time, Plackowska was babysitting her son and the girl at Olivia’s home in Naperville, about 30 miles west of Chicago, the newspaper reported. She allegedly told the kids to kneel and pray before stabbing them, NBCChicago.com reported, and also told her son that he was going to heaven.
Prosecutors say both the kids' throats were slashed, the Tribune reported.

After the murders, Plackowska tried to go to a Naperville church but found it closed, so she left a message on its answering machine saying she had done something bad and needed assistance, Berlin said, according to The Associated Press. Covered in blood and with scratches on her hands, she went to a friend's home where her other, adult son was staying and told them that she had been robbed, Berlin said.
Prosecutors say Plackowska initially told police a stalker broke into the townhouse and committed the crimes, the Tribune reported.
Plackowska later told police that she stabbed her son to death to hurt her husband who "didn't appreciate her," according to NBCChicago.com. She said she killed the girl and two dogs because they witnessed the crime, NBCChicago.com reported.
Berlin said investigators found two blood-stained knives; one in the kitchen sink at the townhome and another in Plackowska's car, according to the AP.

"In all my years in law enforcement, this is the most gruesome and horrific crime scene that I have seen," Naperville police Chief Bob Marshall said at the news conference, according to the AP.
Plackowska is being held without bond on two counts of first degree murder, NBCChicago.com reported. Berlin said Plackowska has no prior history of violence, the AP reported.

Nobody notices mental ilness until something like this happens, then we get comments like this. This woman clearly lost her mind. I am not making excuses, simply pointing out the results of a broken system. Very sad for everyone.
I always thought that asking a demon "Do you believe Jesus is Christ" would make them flee. Way too simple?? I think "Mom" has a demon, herself.

Please please please don't let the insanity claim allow this woman to walk. I understand that some people really do suffer from mental illness and really do need help. But people who suffer from it to the point that they commit actions like this, still need to be removed from society. They are broken and can't function normally, you can put a band-aid on it but there is always the chance of relapse.
WTF Another one of these stories! People if you hate your spouse, your kids, or anyone else so much you are angry enough to kill them, then please just go kill yourself and leave everyone else alone! These kids did nothing to deserve such a horrible death but I guaranttee there will be others in the future too because our justice system just wants to put people in jail. She deserves to die today, no trial, no last meal, no nothing but a few bullets put into her.
It's a little sad how few of you even considered the fact that she is mentally ill. I worked in a lock-down psychiatric hospital for a while and it is amazing just how totally out of touch with reality people can be. Thank goodness only God can really judge us.
With that being said, someone crazy enough to be capable of something like this needs to not be part of society ever again. No question about it.
I have worked with severely mentally ill people for years and couldn't agree more. The general public is extremely ignorant and spout nonsense. This woman is severely disturbed and should be confined for sure. This is not the time for an insanity defense. Society needs protection.
She's crazy like a fox. She's trying to game the system. That's why the kids stopped having demons inside them, and she was robbed, instead.

I know, because I have schizophrenia myself, diagnosed and am on medication for it. It's a very serious mental illness, and if not diagnosed and treated, often leads to these horrible outcomes.
Yeah but the fact she keeps changing her story all the time tells me she may be saner then most believe. Usually people with disorders like that usually do not hide what they did with multiple lies.

One question for those saying religion had nothing to do with this. Have you ever heard of an atheist cutting up their children because they had "devils" inside them? I think that living one's entire life believing in myths and other fallacious concepts can take it's toll on the weak minded.
If religion had ANYTHING to do with this, it would have been her only SINGLE reason for doing so.

And if it WAS truly religion...in her mind she would have been doing the right thing, correct? Then why kill the little girl? The word WITNESS fits a crime, not a religious act.
She sounds and look to me very Polish and she probably is....I am not defending her she commit a terrible crime and will be punish for that. But from time to time I hear how many different religion is trying to open the business in Europe. Poland used to be about 90% catholic but now its just like here you find anything you like . They go after you and brain wash you to join them paying you money even. You find priests that will preform act of exorcism for small amount of money. At some point she lost her mind or saw to many movies on that subject

Unfortunately, she killed the wrong person, and will never see her children again in this life or the next. Sometimes when things like this happen, you have to wonder if God was saving those children from a lifetime with that mother.
She has no previous criminal record....... did they check with the Eastern Block countries? This is no American and it amazes me that people will come all the way to the US to commit their horrific crimes. Crazy!

She is from Poland. Came in 14 years ago on a vacation visa and never left. This is all over the local news.

Who writes these articles? You do not "babysit" your own children. You mind your children, you care for your children, you may be caring for your own and another child at someone else's house, but you do not babysit your own children. This was a terrible crime, but better writing should be used to write the news article.

The Devil was not in those children - it was she who was controlled by a demon.
This story is unreal to read...A lady born in Poland living in USA probably Catholic kill 2 kids one of her own because she saw devil inside of them....Sounds like a science fiction. Europe is watching all of our movies she saw all of them I bet or she lost her mind !!!! Fact is that Poland use to be 100 % catholic not anymore. You find other religions trying to convince you to joint them some even offer money. She lost her patience kids probably where spoiled to begun with.
