The Texas A&M University Police Department confirms a student-athlete who had been missing since Monday has been found safe.

University police confirm Thomas Linze Johnson, a graduate of Dallas' Skyline High School and a freshman wide receiver on the Aggie football team, was found in Dallas at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

University officials had traveled to Dallas Wednesday to search for Johnson and found him with the help of the Dallas Police Department and the Texas Rangers.

Authorities have not released any further details regarding exactly where Johnson was found or where he was for the last few days.  It was believed that Johnson may have visited family in North Texas, but no one was at his mother's home Wednesday night.

University police said Thursday that no further details will be released.

Johnson was reported missing Wednesday after he was last spotted leaving his College Station residence at approximately 5 p.m. Monday.  He has family in the Dallas-area and it was believed he may have been in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Neighbors are glad the teen is OK, but are frustrated by the disappearance and the fear it caused.

“It scared me to death.  He’s been a good kid,” said neighbor Anthony Billard. “I was relieved.  I was so glad that he was found, because so many things are happening now."

Billard said maybe the teen needed to blow off some steam after the Aggies big weekend where they upset Alabama. Still his parents, police and everyone who’s been worried about him, have questions.

“I believe sometimes they really need to just get away,” said Billard. "Why didn’t you let someone know where you were?  We’re all family members, everyone looks out for everyone.  That’s my question.  I’m just glad he’s safe.”

Police aren’t saying if Johnson is in any kind of trouble over what became a massive, multi-agency search.

School officials have not said if Johnson is expected to play in A&M's game this Saturday against Sam Houston State.  So far this season for the Aggies, Johnson has appeared in 10 games and has 30 catches for 399 yards with one touchdown.

NBC 5's Kendra Lyn, Christina Miralla and Elvira Sakmari contributed to this report.

Has anyone been charged yet with killing Alicia Moore, age 16, from TX? No Amber Alert was issued and 4 days later she was found dead.

Sadly, no one seems to give a damn about her, but a football player goes walkabout and he gets national attention.

Some of the comments are extremely racist and uncalled for...get over it!!!

As for the missing teen from Texas...check out the Missing person's report on the web. Most of these go unreported by the newspapers because no one notifies them of the disappearance. That is usually up to the police department. Many will go unreported to keep attention away from the perp who is looking for anonymous attention...it's like a trophy to see on the news what damage he has done to the community and the people. Think twice before making such a statement. Your backlash energy should be used to question authorities, not the media!!

LordPyrinc more than likely is old enough to remember a time when journalism, and indeed most individuals professing to be educated, were habitually motivated by pride, attention to detail and a sense of professional duty and decorum when presenting their written product to the eyes of customers, cohorts, colleagues and the public in general. Grammar and spelling IS important and worthy of comment and if you, Matt, want to be a grammatical slob, or apologize for those who do, that's your privilege, but you look like a snark and a dunce in doing so.

I suppose you are entitled to your opinion Geronimo Sittingbull (Geez i got cramps in my hands from typing your name) just as the same as i was entitled to mine. But attempting to cut someone down by using big words that you more than likely do not have the meaning of is pointless. And that also is my opinion that i will freely express. I was simply pointing out that there wasnt a need for someone to be the "Teacher of ALL GRAMMAR" and not bother to comment on the story at hand. Have a nice day Sir or whatever you may be.

markutk You are the foundation of the word "bloviate."

You are certainly entitled to use the word "bloviate" as a criticism of my remarks. However, "bloviate" alone was apparently insufficient in expressing your distaste. You wanted to enhance and amplify its effect by using an adjective or another descriptive noun. The word "foundation" is a poor choice and seldom used in the generally accepted vernacular of etymological commentary or criticism. Why not stick with 3 or 4 letter words and let the educated among us do the heavy lifting when long words are called for. And, yes, I do mind and will leave you to define "snark" for yourself. Its only 5 letters and shouldn't be too much of a challenge for you, mark.

I feel like they know more than they are telling us. We get very few details I think they have some indication of foul play or they wouldn't go national like this. Whatever it is it sounds bad for his family. So close to having it all and then a total derailment.

There are no more details. Aggies tend to wander off at any given time and for no apparent reason.

          Hold 'em-

Why don't you guys just form an official National Wild-ass Conspiracy Party, and you might as well base it in Dallas or some other Texas center of intellect? You can write your own charter of course, filling it liberally with terms like, "probably", "I guess", "I heard", "I bet", "I feel like", "I think", "what the liberal media doesn't want you to hear" and on and on. I wondered how far down the comments list I would have to go to find that first post claiming to know something no other person on the face of the earth knows, and it took me all the way to number six. Not a record, but I forgot the Texas time zone. 6:27 EST.

If you decide to wander off for a day without telling anyone, do you want your whole life plastered all over the media? My guess, probably not! Any other information is probably not necessary to know. If this had not been mentioned by the media they still would have caught hell. Remember, it is the police who release information and when it comes to missing persons there usually is not a full story or perhaps just a partial story for their own reasons. Some of you people need to get a life and stop being so anxious to pry into the life of other people. Are your lives that boring and hellish??

                COLLEGE STATION, Texas —

Texas A&M freshman wide receiver Thomas Johnson has been found safe in Dallas after being missing from campus since Monday.

His mother, Linda Hanks, says A&M University police called her early Thursday to say the 18-year-old has been found unharmed.

Police said Wednesday that Johnson was last seen leaving his College Station residence around 5 p.m. Monday.

Hanks told WFAA-TV ( ) she had traveled from Dallas to College Station as authorities searched for her son. Meanwhile, Johnson turned up 180 miles to the north, in Dallas.

Hanks says Johnson has not contacted her since his disappearance and that she had no other information.

Campus police scheduled a news conference for Thursday morning.

Johnson has appeared in 10 games this season, and has 30 catches for 339 yards and a touchdown.

This is an 18yr old kid (I could care a less if he is black, white, green or purple) he is a kid, who has been thrust in to the national spot light and put on the "football pedestal", this kind of pressure must be difficult to handle at times. Maybe he just needed a break to gather himself, that is my hope. We can all try to "assume" that this must have been a bad situation, or he was doing something wrong, but wouldn't it be nice to try and not be so cynical and hope and pray for the best of someone instead of trying to stir a rumor pot of negativity. There is so much hate and anger anymore and I am just tired of the bickering. Thomas if you are reading this, take care of you and keep your family informed, other than that, it is no one elses business and I am glad you are safe.
