MIAMI -- A man was arrested for cutting almost all of his girlfriend's nose off after she refused to have sex with him, Fort Lauderdale Police said.
Ricardo Salamanca, from Plantation, faces a charge of aggravated battery causing bodily harm and remained in jail in lieu of $75,000 bail on Wednesday. It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney.
On Oct. 28, the victim was taken to North Broward Hospital for surgery to have her nose reattached.

"The victim's nose was severed down to the sinus cavity where the victim's nose was only attached by a thread," the complaint affidavit said.
The woman identified Salamanca as the person who did this to her, authorities said.
She said that she had been in a relationship with him, and they lived together, the report said. That night, she had seen him at a Plantation nightclub but went home alone, the affidavit said.
Later, he knocked on the door and she let him in, but he started yelling when she would not have sexual intercourse with him, and he threw her down, trying to place her in a chokehold, the affidavit said.
She told authorities that he couldn't place her in a chokehold and she ran to the front door, according to the affidavit. She remembered being thrown across the room, and then saw that she was bleeding from her face, authorities said.
"That's what you deserve, b****," the affidavit quoted the defendant as saying.
Salamanca left, and she drove herself to the hospital, the report said.
She told authorities that she had been a victim of domestic violence from Salamanca in the past.

I have no pity for this woman. If she knew this t-rd was abusive and yet stayed with the DNA reject, then she shares a part in this. When will people learn that abuse is NEVER right and person's finding whatever comfort in being with / staying with someone who does abuse people is just as much to blame for ENABLING the animals to do so...

Didn't Lorena Bobbitt cut her man's penis off for something similar to this. She could have given in to sex and then, got him a little more drunk, and then as he slept cut off his penis. Or a .410 blast to the penis would do the job. I have no sympathy for abusive people on either side of the fence.
This crimes needs to be re-enacted with Ricardo as the victim. I'm sure there's plenty of guys in jail that would love to show him what being beat looks like in her eyes.

One can only hope you're wrong about that, but it certainly does seem that way. Instead of becoming part of our culture, a lot of immigrants try to re-create their own culture without ever embracing ours. This is one of the downsides of being politically correct, though why our society would rather cater to a zillion different immigrant special interests instead of requiring them to find a way to fit in, is beyond me. It's no more than their countries would ask of us if we moved there.

Perhaps the new Immigration "reform" laws will take effect, and
those who commit crimes, prior to becoming U.S. Citizens, will be
denied citizenship and sent packing. If, they do not learn to speak
English, within the first year, read write and speak it, prior to being
given a Driver's License or work permit, their citizenship should also
be denied. Everyone has screamed for Immigration Reform, however,
what they will be getting may NOT be to their liking, when it finally is
decided. Thousands may be deported, and part of the Immigration reform
laws, that may be changed, are automatic Citizenship for babies born in this
Country. When immigrants arrive here, who cannot support themselves
without welfare, and medicaid, they should be turned around, and sent back
home, until they are either "sponsored" here for 5 years, or have a profession
that will allow them to work immediately, and not need the social services
that are already overtaxed, in this Country. Why should there be two sets
of regulations? When anyone from Europe, wants to become a Citizen here,
they must prove they can support themselves, OR have a sponsor, without it,
thay are not even given a Visa, to visit here. The rules should be uniform,
for everyone who wants Citizenship in this Country. Period.

I live in Florida, and I have all of the above, as well as an Electric Chain saw, near

Note to women AND men. If you are in a relationship with someone who has commited domestic violence in the past, don't wait around. Get the hell out of the relationship. If they did it once, they will do it again - and usually much worse (just like in this case).

I'm all for diversity but this is what happens when other societies bring their cultures with them instead of learning the culture of the society their moving to? Or they refuse to learn it.
I hate to admit it but you're right. Whenever I visited a foreign country, I acted like a guest and did all I could to learn their language and culture. I know immigrants who've lived here for 40 years and still don't speak English! Apparently we're an incredibly soft touch and most immigrants know this going in.
There's no earthly reason why we should not require immigrants to at least learn our language. That much seems like it would be a courtesy and certainly not unreasonable, if they expect to vote in our elections. Instead, we issue voting materials in foreign languages. Find me one other country that does that.
