Updated at 9:53 p.m. ET: Police looking for two suspects who broke into a Boise, Idaho zoo and fatally beat a monkey have a clue: a light gray cap near where the monkey was found.
The hat is emblazoned with a white skull surrounded by swirly drawing and the logo "M L" written on the skull's forehead.
A security guard told officers he spotted two males in dark clothing, one inside the zoo grounds and the other outside the fence near the primate exhibit. When the suspects saw the guard, they ran.
Police searched the 11-acre zoo, including one sweep with a thermal imager, but did not find the suspects.
During the search, officers and zoo employees found a Patas monkey lying next to the perimeter fence near the primate exhibit where the suspects were last seen. The monkey appeared to have a head injury and died a short time later.
When they were searching for the offender, Burns said they heard a groan, the Idaho Statesman reported. It was unclear whether the groan came from a human or a monkey, he said.
The monkey shared a cage with another male monkey that was not harmed, according to the Statesman.
Detectives collected blood evidence at the scene that's being tested to determine if it's blood from the monkey or a human.
"It's very disturbing that someone would intentionally break into the zoo and harm an animal. We're doing all we can to find who did this." said Sgt. Ted Snyder of the Boise Police Department.

“Everybody here at the zoo is devastated,” zoo Director Steve Burns said in a statement.
“It’s sad to have to tell kids that one of their favorite animals is gone.”
A veterinarian is conducting a necropsy of the monkey to determine the cause of death. All the other zoo animals were accounted for and uninjured.
Patas monkeys are ground-dwelling animals from the plains of Africa. At 2 ½ feet, they typically weigh 35 pounds, according to a zoo statement.
Patas monkeys are rare in zoos but are not endangered in the wild, says Burns. There is one remaining male Patas monkey at the zoo. Both of the animals came to Zoo Boise three years ago from the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa Bay, Fla.
“Because monkeys are social animals we are concerned about the welfare of the remaining animal,” said Burns. The zoo will explore opportunities to replace the monkey or move the remaining animal to another zoo.

Senseless.
What's senseless is the death of over a trillion bugs and insects a year caused by automobiles. I guess there lives are far less important.
http://www.egmcartech.com/2011/07/15/study-finds-that-trillion-of-bugs-are-killed-by-cars-every-year/
Woof Woof..
I'm sorry, but I see no correlation. Here, we have an animal taken from it's habitat and retained within an enclosure. It had no ability to escape or hide. It was defenseless and utterly dependent upon it's caretakers. It was completely vulnerable when two individuals decided that causing pain and death would suffice as entertainment. For their own amusement, they beat (likely, pending necropsy) this captive creature to death, despite the fact that I am confident it wailed in pain and fear. Yet, the attackers callously continued.
While it is unfortunate, animals in their habitat frequently are hit by vehicles, that is a conflict of nature and civilization colliding; a topic unrelated to the matter at hand. It saddens me to see dead coyotes, possum, etc., by the roadways, yet again, that is not a corollary to what occurred here.
This was brutality, pure and simple.
Senseless I mean this was Senseless Violence that was uncalled for that is what I meant! I hope those found responsible are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. BTW I don't care for some bugs and insects I'm not some Tree hugging homo.
Woof, you are a great troll, go back under your bridge and finish off your 12 pack of Natty Lites.
This is really disturbing, I hope they break into to Tiger exhibit accidentally and they get dinner as payback.
Most likely you are not a tree hugger or a homo N. Serling, but just with your last comment showed your own hypocrisy. You are appalled by the violent acts of another human being, yet you have time to put labels on those who don't agree with you?
woof woof - are you saying that you don't drive a car, or walk or ride a bike? Walking and riding a bike kills bugs too. The difference between bugs dying and primates being killed is that bugs reproduce in number that allow for deaths of individuals - always have and always will. In this case, the primate was in it's habitat minding it's own business. Two individuals came in for some unknown reason - my guess is to either hurt it for some reason or to steal it and it bit them - and they beat the animal to death. To apply it to your scenario, it would be as if someone came to your home and killed off half your cockroach collection. There's no reason for it except greed (if they were trying to steal it) and reckless violence (if they were there to beat it up). Either way, when they find the cretins that did it, they will be arrested for theft and cruelty to animals.
Yep woof I felt made a stupid comment. There are some people still in this world that will stand up and call out stupidity when they see or hear it.
I hope that they catch the people responsible and throw them in with the gorillas or some other animal that is capable of defending itself against them. Let's see how they like being in a cage at the mercy of the animals. I am sure that the lions would enjoy some nice fresh meat for a snack. There is no excuse for what these two did.
I agree. But, ya know, they could have seen the automobiles coming, dontcha think, and just flew out of the way; whereas the captive monkey was at the mercy of these shi*head bastards and had no choice but to die painfully and violently.
The rapid increase from 20 years ago of violent male predators should be a concern for our society. They are angry people and have no respect for anything--animals, other people's property, even their families or themselves. I put a lot of the blame on Hollywood who seem to want to outdo themselves with yet another violent movie appealing to the 13- to 24-year-old male. There are those (particularly in the gaming industry) who say that violent video games do not affect vulnerable young males in the least. You will never convince me of that.
And aren't we glad that person is you! I think, actually, that Woof was being facetious, although he has a point that monkeys, humans and bugs all were created equal and deserve the same protections.
I think when caught... this "person" should be put in a cage with the "BIG MONKEYS" that can defend themselves... the gorillas, then we'll see how bad he really is... maybe Woof can join him since he has jokes.
N Sterling...you had me until the "tree hugging homo" remark. I could be considered a tree hugger, yet I have more sense than woof. I agree w/you, Sterling, but don't call people homos..it's degrading and insulting...I have friends who are gay, and when you say it like that, you aren't being nice.
...and if everyone were a bit of a tree hugger, the world would be a better place.
With that said, anyone who deliberately hurts an animal is a POS...and would easliy hurt a child. Animals and children are the innocents of this world...
Actually, uh, gorillas are not monkeys and they are not violent; although they probably would defend themselves if provoked.
The only problems this planet has are the humans that walk it.
I would be scanning old video for two 16 to 25 year olds that looked like they could be tormenting the monkey in previous days. Maybe they were the same two lawyers that were in Vegas??
oh and to WOOFWOOF- you remind me of the woman who waanted the deer sign crossings moved so that the deer would not cross there. Jesh..... get a hobby.
I'm with Bluepanther on this one. What exactly did you mean by "tree hugging homo"? For someone who advocates not making stupid statements, this seems contradictory to your values.
Catch these a-holes and throw them in the gorilla habit at the zoo. Lets see them do that to a 1000 pound gorilla.
Excellent post. Thanks, I need not say anymore.
Clark, no gorilla has ever weighed 1,000 pounds. The most for a male is about 450#. Nevertheless these bastards deserve serious punishment, but unfortunately, they won't get it.
Actually mozzie-600, gorillas are very violent and do fight with each other, sometimes to the death, and will most definitely attack an individual if they invade their exhibit.
Informed: Not the silverbacks. Unprovoked, they do not want to harm humans.
The peaceful gorillas dont want to have these @!$%#s pestering them, throw them in with the chimpanzees who will have a blast pounding and ripping the intruders apart, probably even making a game of it. Chimps are more closely related to humans than they are to monkeys, and their aggressive savagery sure does reflect in modern humans to this day.
And anyone who would put themself on such a high pedestal that they consider the worth of a mammal, a primate mammal no less, to be no more than an insect, is delusional about their own importance. Humans are "just animals" too, does that mean that our lives dont matter any more than a bugs? A monkey and an ape are so much like us, if you cant appreciate their lives then you probably cant appreciate anyone but yourself. No mammal is comparable to a bug just because it isnt human. Not that i have anything against bugs. I was pretty fond of my tarantula as a kid.
Golly, there are so many misconceptions in your post, I hardly know where to begin to answer. I'll just say that we all come from the same Source, and that makes us all - bugs included -made from the same substance. Therefore, all sentient beings are e-q-u-a-l in the eyes of the Creator; we all - again, bugs included - just have different roles to play. Life is life, no matter what for it takes; it's all the same.
Is that helpful for you? Hope so. It's true.
I've got to wonder what Woofwoof is gonna have to say when these two miscreants graduate to killing random children instead of animals. Maybe when they grow up they can even do little old ladies.
"The peaceful gorillas don't want to have these @!$%#s pestering them, throw them in with the chimpanzees who will have a blast pounding and ripping the intruders apart, probably even making a game of it."
Good call. The two low-life losers who did that should be tortured too, just as they decided to torture a helpless monkey. First throw them in with the chimps for a while and then throw them to the lions! Those boys are a disgraceful embarrasment for human beings.
"I put a lot of the blame on Hollywood who seem to want to outdo themselves with yet another violent movie appealing to the 13- to 24-year-old male. HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD!!!! HOLLYWOOD SHOULD WRENCH IN SHAME AND I WISH CALIFORNIA WOULD CRACK AND FALL OFF OF THE U.S.
First of all you are assuming that there is a creator with any sort of perception of living beings to judge us, rather than simply evolution, in which case we may have all started of as single>multi celled organisms at one point but we are NOTHING like bugs at this point, however we are a LOT like other mammals, especially primates. If there is a "creator" you have no clue what value, if any, this creator places on its created living beings, regardless of the fact every living creature has a role in the food chain and an importance in nature. Everything could be equal...or not so much. I am assuming YOU are not the creator. Either way, nothing should prevent us from being able to respect and appreciate other life forms, ESPECIALLY our closely related cousins the apes and monkeys. I dont like to hurt anything, including bugs, but im not going to shed a tear after slapping a mosquito or spraying a nest of termites, whether they have a purpose or not, but i would never, ever want to hurt a primate or any other mammal unless i was being attacked.
Your misconception that everyone has the same beliefs as you regarding a creator, and how your creator considers everything equal, is ignoring the fact that even without those exact beliefs theres no reason to intentionally harm creatures without cause, and i am just trying to point out that these apes and monkeys (and mammals) are far more like humans than bugs, but that we too are animals. Religion and beliefs aside.
I am not familiar with commenting on this website, but I will do my best!

There has been an increase in both MALE AND FEMALE "violent predators". I am confident that video games and movies are not to blame. There are ESRB ratings (age recommendations for movies/video games) for a reason. Parents should be able to discern whether or not their children are mature enough to handle the content in the video game before they purchase the game. It has more to do with the way children are brought up. Parents are responsible for instilling morals in their children.
You have NO IDEA *WHY* or how the primate came to be at this zoo, do you? Many zoos get their animals from rescue/orphan centers, where left to their natural habitat the animal would likely have died. Go check out Orangutan Island. ALL of the orangutans are rescued from likely death. That is NOT to say there isn't abuse, but don't jump to conclusion of the ills of human beings. I don't have time to cite sourcesl; if you need/want proof, go to Let Me Google That For You (LMGTFY dot com)
It is NOT a conflict of civilization vs nature. We are apart of nature, we can just change and adapt to out habitat better (albeit irresponsibly in some cases.)

Yet another story of animal cruelty. From dolphins being tortured and dismembered to monkeys having their heads bashed in, what a wonderful society we live in! We're really moved far from our barbaric days haven't we. It should be mandatory for all males by the age of 15 to go through an anger management course in school, and should be consistently burned into their minds that there are ALWAYS, ALWAYS consequences for their actions! It's not funny to break into a property, or kill a zoo animal, but I guarandamntee you they are laughing their asses off right now with their group of friends..until they are caught. Then it's all crocodile tears and remorse.
,
i just wish there was video evidence of the two individuals. More than likely they will never get caught.
A little bit of insight.....
When I was born to this planet, there were about 3-billion human souls living on its face. At last count, there are about 7-billion souls living on this planet today. The U.S. population has more than tripled since I was born. There are a couple of things that I have come to know over these many years, and I'll share them with you.
I'm not surprised that the attackers chose a monkey as their victim. Monkeys are part of of the same primate group as their own species; Human (Homo Sapiens Salpiens). And I believe that if the killers are left unchecked, it is only a mattter of time before they move on to kill the ultimate game--their own species.
Isn't Idaho a red (neck) state?
Anger is different from intentional barbaric cruelty. Sending adolescent individuals (male or female) with obvious self control problems to anger management isnt a bad idea though. Perhaps it would be more efficient to also send troubled students to a guidance counselor to attempt to discover the real problem causing the uncontrolled anger, which is likely connected to a deeper problem. It would also help if kids were taught by their parents to respect themselves, each other, and living creatures, so that this sort of thing would actually disturb them rather than amuse them.
These days the consequences dont seem to hit home with the kids, they just see the slap on the wrists that they get as a sign of glory, to laugh about with their peers rather than be ashamed. People arent taught to appreciate anything or anyone because they feel entitled and take everything for granted. Our daily society is becoming a culture of indifference, and its leading the next generation to be selfishly spoiled, senseless and coldhearted. The problem is far greater than anger management. It's not about religion because morals cant be forced on someone who doesnt care, it's about giving a @!$%# about more than just one's self, and appreciating the value of life. This should be achieved when raising any person from child to adult, regardless of ones culture or religion, and for some reason it seems to be an oversight.
It's the people who have no inner sense of values that are amused by cruelty, and its likely that theyve been hurting other people as well as animals for most of their life, because they dont even consider it a big deal. They dont care. At all. Unless it happens to them.
aliveinsd: If you live in South Dakota, as your name implies, I hope you will do your best to convince your lawmakers to enact legislation that makes animal cruelty a crime. SD is one of two states that do not consider animal abuse--including dogfighting, cock fighting or "crush" videos--a crime. An amendment just failed in the recent election to outlaw animal cruelty. What is wrong with S. Dakotans that they allow this to happen with no consequences?
Are you folks who are so outraged at the killing of a monkey, equally outraged at the killing of unborn humans?? Just wondering.
Wow you are a piece of work spider. Go pray to Jesus you worthless freak.
In a word Spider, no.
Ahh, Woodrat - you beat me to it!
WoofWoof79
Sooo... I guess you LOOK 'DOWN' when you're walking...
b/c. walking DOES the SAME damage as driving! ^_^
what a boner !stupid dickheads tried to "spank the monkey" but killed it,when caught "red handed"
If I had to make a guess, I'd say that someone was trying to steal the monkey, the monkey resisted and was then killed, perhaps in self defence, they are wild animals you know. Forgive me, but sometimes, the sherlock hat jumps on my head.
What? Nobody tried to inject politics into this somehow? Amazing!
It's ok spider, you're only a glimmer of light in an endless night. They are the same ones that castigate a poor mother for killing her child out of crushing abject despair.
I hope they catch these 2 @ssholes. What a disgrace. I wish they would beat the hell out of each of these 2 punks and throw their sorry ass' in the lions den.
Well pro, one thing is certain, it couldn't be obama's fault! Way too many liberals here for that to be possible.
Iwonder- ahhh, thank you!
You're welcome. I knew something was missing.
mozzie-600... is it your job to correct everyone... Damn dude give it a rest.
Yeah, woof woof, they are.
AllAmericans: If you find my postings disagreeable, then don't read them.
Real good chance it was for "Bush Meat", as Customs continues to crack down on illegal imports of bush meat from other countries, people here are looking for other sources. Sad but a lot of people don't hold these animals in the same regards as we do, same goes for a lot of the animals we cherish as pets.
For some the dishonor of not being able to supply food from back home is worth the risk of breaking into a zoo to get it, you would be amazed at the things they will do to smuggle it in from overseas.
Mozzie, I wonder as to what authority you cite with your statement regarding the equality of all sentient beings in the eyes of the Creator?
Through what agency has the Creator communicated this to you?
Life is certainly life, and should never be taken too lightly. But to equate, as WoofWoof does, the intentional and sadistic harming of a monkey with the deaths of millions of insects every day through the agency of automobile windshields, is beyond ridiculous; it is moronic.
I doubt seriously the Creator, whomever or whatever he may be, is too worried about the bugs hitting my windshield. If he were, he'd have given them better radar.
I have a better idea... critique yourself like you're doing to others and then you'll tell yourself just how screwed up your thinking is...
P.S. The sarcasm of the "BIG MONKEY" comment was obviously wasted on you, because you feel the need to correct.
Fascinating reactions to Spider's comments. You who are SO upset over the death of an animal see
nothing wrong with the daily dismemberment of the human being in utero. Just fascinating. Wow.
You have really been indoctrinated by Planned Parenthood. That's the result of "sex education" in the classroom.
Unbelievable. Then you wonder why there is so much violence and bloodshed against your fellow
humans and against animals.
Woofwoof was being facetious, he was just trying to be clever. Sorry you missed that.
Why do you automatically assume the "Creator" is male?
If you have children, do you see them as equal in your eyes, or do you treat one child better than the other(s)? If one died, would you mourn them less than the others?
Mozzie-600 thinks people can somehow tell his comments are stupid without reading them! "AllAmericans: If you find my postings disagreeable, then don't read them." That convinces me! Troll--rock--get back under it.
So? I don't think the Patas monkey is a republican (or even a democrat). As for the "red (neck)" comment, ever seen a Patas monkey? They have no red necks. Orange maybe, not red :-D
http://www.animalorphanagekenya.org/photos/patas_monkey_11.jpg
mozzie: I do not live in South Dakota. My location is coded into my profile, but nothing to do with my actual location--as ones location should remain anonymous, as locations are, and too often, associated with certain Human mentalities.
"It takes all kinds of nuts and fruits to bake a cake." --Someone once said.
And I am not an exception to that. We each may be crazy in our own way, but we each just might be the crazy that makes our "cake" just right.
aliveinsd... I like that "It takes all kinds of nuts and fruits to bake a cake"... and that is as far as I'm going to go with that, but I do get your point.
That may happen eventually; but since California grows much of the produce for the country, our food supply would sink into the ocean as well.
Yeah, right, mozzie, and Bill Clinton never inhaled.
None of my children have six legs, an exoskeleton and compound eyes.
Seriously, you need to look around you at this world, and take note of the fate which befalls all living things, but which typically strikes insects within weeks of their emergence as an adult creature. They die in any number of cruel and brutal manners, as prey, as victims of winter's freezing and by smacking a windshield their loving creator, be it male, female or genderless, failed to give them the wit to avoid.
Anybody who looks at this universe as it is, and theorizes the existence of a benign, loving and all powerful Creator as the agency of the world's existence seems delusional to me.
Look around you. Is this the best that benign omnipotence and omniscience can manage?
BTW: You never answered my question: Who told you that "all sentient beings are e-q-u-a-l in the eyes of the Creator"?
My, my and wow. It's incredible to me that you would dare judge the creation of a being Who has been managing this planet for several billions of years. Doubtful you could do as well. Our universe didn't just happen; it was the result of someone/something's efforts. That's just common sense. Earth is a very desirable place to be and it’s a shame that humans cannot appreciate the gift they have been given. I’m just glad to live here.
And, unfortunately (I guess), this is the end of our conversation. You may have the last word, if you like. But, regardless, y'all have a good day!
...and still no answer to my question. Big surprise.
dman: I did. It's common sense.
Mozzie, my question:
Your response's reference to "common sense":
Brilliant.
Hmmmm... I missed the logical leap that proves [to you] that your theorized creator views all sentient beings as equal, or that he [she or it] cares at all about any of them.
My guess is that [to you] common sense is just an inane belief that whatever assumptions you make about the universe must be true.
But don't worry, I'm certain that in the eyes of the Creator, both you and intelligent people are e-q-u-a-l.
It's only common sense.
Have a nice day, y'all.
Stupid, stupid, stupid. 'I'm bored. Let's go to the zoo and see what we can kill.' I hope they catch these two before they progress to more 'fun' activities to get their thrills.
Maybe they will go to the African Dogs, Tigers, or Lion exhibits next. Could be where they went from the monkeys - they just haven't found the remains yet.
Maybe they will go to the African Dogs, Tigers, or Lion exhibits next. Could be where they went from the monkeys - they just haven't found the remains yet.
when caught, they should be beat in the head until they die !!!
This is a tragic considering that monkeys do better on college exams than NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND victims of the American Public School System.
and there it is...the first A hole to bring in politics
my thought was that they were trying to steal the monkey. to take it as a pet or for a prank. if that was the case, they may have been bitten and then reacted violently. why else would the monkey be all the way out by the fence instead of inside sleeping?
The animals outside of the zoo are much more dangerous than the ones in it.
Well said...poor, innocent monkey.
Well put Jasper999...every day I dread getting online because of stories like this. We live in a sick world with the sick getting sicker. It makes you want to never leave your house!
It seems that every so often, some genius needs to prove his superiority and might over a small, defenseless, caged zoo resident by torturing / killing it.
I'm in full agreement with those who think we need to see further proof of the perp's superiority and might and hope that they visit the gorilla or tiger areas as soon as possible.
GO TIGERS!!!
.....and when they find the low-lifes, they need to "sentence" them to clean up the lion poop in the lion exhibit.....with the lions in there.
lol they'll just beat the lions too
hmmmm, I don't think so.
To hurt the innocent, unbelievable. I believe in Charma.
its Karma....and too bad it doesn't really exist....
The Karmatic exchange does exist. Too bad it does exist cause I musta done something wrong to deserve all these riches rushing by me like water in a rainstorm. And all I have is a bucket with holes in it. Ya ya I know
God told them to do it.
God did tell them to do it...probably because they're too ignorant to be in the general population and need to be put behind bars like a monkey in the zoo. It's the circle of life.
I've said it before and I'll say it again ..... What is wrong with people!!!!!!!
So sad - your mother, father, family raised you better than to beat a poor defenseless domesticated animal to death.
Here is hoping that someday you suffer the same punishment at the hands of someone much more cruel than even you.
I wish nothing but bad Karma and things to happen to you for the rest of your life.
An animal in a zoo is far from domesticated...
Does that mean you have the right to beat and kill them for fun? This country is going to the devil, first dolphins killed and mutilated in the Gulf of Mexico for fun and now an animal killed in a zoo. People have no morals any longer and life means squat to them whether an animal, mammal or human. I honestly believe things will only get worse here.
Still was caged these adult diapers are cowards.
I wouldn't be too sure about that. The evidence says otherwise.
Siobhan?! Do you REALLY not understand the intent of Zeviah's post?
That's OK if I had said that the idiots who beat the monkey's Mother was a dumb twit who didn't raise you right ..... (which I would like to say just to piss them off) then posters from the other side of the world would argue with that....
No matter - these people don't deserve to have another good day for the rest of their lives...... what goes around comes around eventually....
C121.. are not mammals animals, and are not humans mammals?
These GOP supporters have gotten out of hand.
You're a moron !
Pretty funny comment there Bundy the shoe salesman... considering all the troglodytes on the left who were threatening to riot if Obama wasn't re-elected. You people on the liberal Dem left will never be happy, will you? You are miserable and you whine when out of power, and you are miserable and whine when you are IN power. Liberalism is a permanent misery index.
Wow! Exactly the opposite all across the county chicken hawke.
Once again, someone has to bring politics into the discussion where it has no relevance. This is about unprovoked deliberate malicious cruelty against an innocent sentient being.
Jhawke...time to change your avatar. Albundmwe...Boise is neutral.
You are a severe mental invalid!
Sick, sicker, sickest... When caught, they ought to be sentenced to clean EVERY cage in the zoo for five years. They ought to have a LOT of fun cleaning the chimp cage - with the chimps using them for "target practice."
These cops are worthless, I'm sure this monkey made all kinds of noise. The parents will have an excuse for them watch. They were beat, drugs,Daddy left home, video games, The kids suck and there parents suck They are lucky I am not the Judge if proven that they did it.
I agree! How could the "cops" not have heard that poor monkey probably crying for help? This makes me sick to my stomach!! These bastards who did this deserve to be punished severely!!!! I pray the monkey is in the safe and loving arms of our Lord now without fear and pain
Anonymous...I killed a male Hobo spider the other day. Is he in heaven?
Actually, the cops in Boise are some of the best. Miscreants know to stay away. The zoo is in the middle of a large park, and 11 acres is a large area for the "security guy" to cover. Boise cops will get these two morons.
just like when an animal is put down when they kill a human, these suspects should be put down for killing an animal. once they taste monkey blood....
Agreed!
Netanyahu deliberately murdered Jabari in order to get Humas to fire a missile so the Palestinians would be blamed. Most Americans don't research the facts of Israel's continous False Flags. Destroy Gaza, and eliminate all human life, to gain the land Israel demands. Not surprised Obama sided with Netanyahu because Bush/Obama has done the same, are doing, and intend to do. Israel wants all Arabs land and the oil companies the oil beneath, so the reason the two are siamese twins. Blood for land and oil The illegal Europeans did the same against the natives here, and called them savages when fighting back to keep their land. ... terrorists are what the Palestianians are called for doing the same. The Middle Eastern countries are called terrorists for fighting back also against the illegals who have invaded.
What's all this have to do with a primate murdered in an Idaho zoo????
Suck it Marta.
No sense at all if you don't like it here go to live with the Humas
What is it with you people who have to drag politics--be it local, national, or international--into every friggin' discussion on these boards?
The subject here is the despicable act of two morons who broke into a zoo and beat a defenseless animal to death. Kindly try to keep focused; it's hard, I know, but if you concentrate, maybe you can do it, and we'll all be grateful!
Marta...You obviously posted your comments on the wrong thread.
Marta, You are a brain washed imbecile first class! Israel has been under attack for over a week and didn't retaliate for several days hoping that missiles would stop!
Israel didn't steal anything! The Palestinians were nothing more than a bunch of nomadic wanderers that the other ME countries didn't want! Israel was nothing but arid scrub land that no one wanted before the UN gave it to them after WW2.. they came back to THEIR homeland and turned it into a beautiful and productive land.. Israeli's came in peace but the @!$%# arabs have tried to destroy them from day one!!
Thats the real history! TAKE YOUR BS SOMEWHERE ELSE! NO PITY FOR HAMAS - COWARDLY POS!
Good post, Rosewine but actually Israel has been under attack on a regular basis for a long time. Seems that after the visit from the Emir of Qatar when he dropped a cool $400 million into the lap of Hamas less than a month ago, the aggression was stepped up quite a bit. Coincidence???
marta, you received some incredibly good advice at post 24.6 in the other article. Please take it. For your health and sanity.

Too bad these ignorant fools didn't break into the bear, lion or tiger's exhibit...the outcome may have been much more favorable?
This is an example of how drained our Gene Pool is. This is what you get after 40 years of drug and alcohol abuse. These are your last two generations of completely worthless and psychotic youth. Now tell me cell phone usage isn't causing damage to brains. Ask how much money was spent to counter any studies that have shown damaging changes to brain cells and DNA. Good luck with you little Zombies ladies and gentlemen. Monkey killers. Right.
What? You think this is something new? People used to hurt animals all the time for fun and profit. My father remembers a stable owner when he was a kid (he's 81 now) who used to kill the occasional horse in the process of breaking it. No one ever said boo about that. His uncle used to just shoot doves out of the sky for fun when they were hunting. This was all normal back then. If anything, we treat animals far better these days - 50 years ago, this would be chalked up as harmless highjinks, with the main issue being the cost of the animal.
Trust me. Senseless violence has been going on for more then 40 years. Less try since America was founded. Also, drug and alcohol abuse has been around sense forever also....unless your just trying to make a connection to something else.
If they catch these BASTARDS put them in a cage with the monkey's big brother Mr Gorilla:)
More signs of a sick society.
People who saw the suspects inside the cages, probably didn't know exactly whether they were humans or primates such as chimps, gorillas or orangutans.
humans are primates
First of all why did these IDIOTS do an autopsy on this animal, wasn't this animal brutalized enough?
You had to see how this animal died? HE DIED FROM A BEATING OVER THE HEAD MORONS!You didn't need an autopsy to come up with that conclusion!
Now for the two maggots who killed this poor innocent animal? You're dam lucky you don't live in my neighborhood, because if you did,or I even found out you were in the vicinity? I'D HUNT YOU DOWN,AND KILL YOU,SO HELP ME I'D KILL YOU!
If anyone thinks that's extreme, well think again. If these two Rotten Stinking Scumbags would do that to an animal that is so close to a human being,or any animal for that matter, they'd kill a kid, their mother, father brother, sister, grandparents, or any other innocent being. They'd do it just for ha ha's,like they did this monkey!
The Stupid Justice System locks up a pot smoker for 10 years, and gives Scum like this a slap on the wrist.I say GET RID OF THEM PERIOD! They're dangerous parasites on Society.
Maybe they did an autopsy to see if the monkey was carrying any kind of disease. Wouldn't it be wonderful if maybe it got in one good scratch or bite that could prove fatal? Thats karma.
The autopsy will show if the animal suffered any other injuries...If so, this can be used for further proof of the cruel treatment of this animal and may help result in maximum sentences for the perpetrators. This may help get these guys put away somewhere where they will be at the mercy of their fellow animals.
It's very rare that animal abuse cases get any real jail time. They are more likely to face stiffer penalties for the trespass and B&E.
Somewhere; They need to do a necropsy to gather more evidence of the crime. In some cases they can recover DNA from the assailants, as a violent act often causes injury to both parties. Not to mention any other forensic evidence that could lead to identifying the suspects.
I admit that this crime usually wouldn't warrant anything more that a misdemeanor charge. Hopefully the callus nature of this will call for a more severe court reaction.
These criminals need to be caught and punished!
they did an autopsy for the same reason any human that is murdered gets an autopsy. they want to make sure that it did indeed die from a head blow, not another injury. do you not watch police shows? they probably did a sweet of the entire exhibit as well, searching for anything that could help find the idiots who did this.
Why would anyone want to do such a thing? Youth and boredom are not an excuese. Anyone who would go out of their way to harm another living thing for no other reason than to do it is a danger to society. Thankfully it was not a helpless toddler they decided to brutalize, but that does not lessen the loss of this animal. I hope they find who did this, but I have little hope that they will recieve a suitable punishment.
Agreed rmb22. One of the real concerns is that these two sick people could want a bigger thrill and move on to hunting humans. Something very sick in the head with these guys, normal people don't kill animals for the fun of it.
These are like the jerkoffs in Florida stabbing and shooting dolphins. Hope they get caught and ass whooped.
holy cow, I'm glad I didn't see that story :(
I hate humans more every day.
Clearly a misinterpretation of spanking the monkey.
Most sad. With our continued decline in personal resposiblity and morality savage incidents like this will be more frequent - I am affraid.
I hope the poor critter got in at least one or two good bites before the REAL animals fled.
wow, this story brought me to tears. i mean REALLY??? Stupid, senseless, moronic...kinda like Woof's post...
Adding insult to injury, even if these morons are found Idaho's animal abuse laws will let them off with a misdemeanor.
Idaho's one of 3 with virtually NO crimes against animals that would bring jail time.
I am glad you pointed this out, MJDefayette. We will not become a civilized society until we stop treating animals as property under the law. Here in San Diego, judges often give nothing more than a slap on the wrist for dog fighting offenses. One guy got work furlough because the judge said his family needed him for financial support. The point of the law show make people suffer so they don't want to commit these crimes again. I believe the idiots that hurt the monkey should get the death penalty because it is not different than killing a human being in my book. In some cases, people who have tortured animals do go on to kill people. I am just so disgusted there is no punishment for this type of crime. "Lowly animals" would never do such a thing and yet they pay a price.
