Subscribe to RSSA former teacher in Florida's Broward County who was accused of soliciting massages from students has lost her license to teach in the state.
Cheryl Grampa, 46, was barred by the state's Education Practices Commission in an order this month, the Sun-Sentinel reported Friday.
She had taught at Cooper City Elementary.
School district investigators said that during the 2009-2010 school year, one boy touched her breasts and vaginal area and she failed to notify the school administration about the inappropriate conduct, according to the state's complaint.
No criminal charges were filed, but the Broward School Board voted to suspend her for five days and ordered her to undergo classroom management training, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
Two psychological evaluations later found her "unfit for duty as a classroom teacher" and she resigned last December, according to state records.
Grampa, who is listed as living in Bellaire, Texas, did not attend the state discussion of her case on Sept. 27 in Orlando, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
Broward Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie, who was not in the district when the case was investigated, said he did not know why Grampa was not fired, but believed that revoking her license was appropriate.

She admitted that elementary school children touched her breast and vaginal area. What perverted world do you come from where that's not being guilty? Because she wasn't charged doesn't mean it was legal. It just means that the ones that should have charged her should be replaced as it seems that their moral fortitude is lacking as well.
I be willing to bet this happens alot more often than its reported because of the way male veiw sex vs female. If it been a man he would be in jail.
Far out. I taught all my sons to take advantage of opportunitys such as this as I did when in school. Some teachers have much more to teach than academics, and most importantly, to keep thier mouths shut about it even to best friends to keep a great thing going. There's been some fine looking teachers careers ruined because of some dummy teenage kid bragging to his friends.

Her name will spark a whole string of bad puns. But what really makes you a little queasy is that she was an elementary school teacher, as in teaching grades 1 thru 5.
It took place in Florida too, which seems to have more than its share of bizarre sex crimes. Isn't there a game called "Florida or Germany", where contestants are fed bizarre news stories, such in this one, and have to guess which of these two epicenters of weirdness are involved?

I am starting to wonder if some teachers don't solely go to college to be a teacher just so they can molest kids. There is such a large number of them,I don't think it's a coincidence. When I was in high school,my friend told me about how our male band teacher had sent her weird texts at 2am. One day,he was gone and just never showed up at school again. He was texting a lot of girls from our school nasty stuff. Sending them naked pictures of himself,creepy messages. Convincing them to send naked pictures back. There were even rumors he slept with a couple of them,which I'm sure were probably true. I found out this guy had worked at a school nearby and got fired for similar reasons. You could never convince me he didn't become a teacher solely for this reason,and many others.
I had a male band teacher that disappeared under the same fog of suspicion. Talk about him having sex with the teachers pet helper girl.

She taught at an elementary school. I wonder if the same standards apply to male teachers in Florida. I would bet dollars to donughts that a male teacher would be locked up faster than she will. Oh wait, there are no charges against this female teacher. Never mind. I take it all back. For a minute there I thought it would have been a felony. My mistake.
Teachers need to be especially careful in their relationship to their students. Touching is generally inappropriate with the possilble exception of a handshake or fist bump. If a student touches a teacher, it is the teacher's responsibility to notify the administration, most likely in writing. In addition to inappropriate touching, social media and texting indicate an inappropriate teacher/student relationship.
It is not clear what Ms Grampas requested from the student but massage is inapproppriate. Sadly, Ms Grampas, may have lost her professional distance from her students. Maybe considered them as being like her own children and did not recognize her violation of professional ethics.

At first I was thinking that this was a teacher who asked a student to give her a non-sexual massage. Even then, it would still be unprofessinal of the teacher, and if that was the case then a temporary supsension of her liscense and a class on how to properly teach would've been apporpriate.
But then I read comments about little boys touching Ms. Grandpa's vagina, so I went back and re-read the story. Now I got my face in my palm and I'm shaking my head.
