A wild scene played out Friday night at a house party in east San Jose.
In the end one, San Jose police officer was dragged through the house, dozens of officers were attacked by flying glass bottles (two were injured) and 42 residents were under arrest.
Police said it all started just before 11 p.m. when neighbors on Patt Avenue called 911 to report shots fired.
When the first officers arrived on scene they said they found a large party. They immediately noticed a few of the party-goers jumped the fence into the back yard.
Police said some in the group then started throwing glass objects at the officers. One officer was struck by an object and then someone attempted to drag him to the rear of the house, according to police.
The officer was able to escape. A second officer was also injured as a result of the incident. Both officers were treated by medical staff.
Police said people both inside and outside the home continued to throw objects at the officers and refused to cooperate.
Officers called for back up and took up a position of safety and attempted to make contact with the residents, but they were met with resistance, according to police. Some 60 officers were called to the house.
After a short standoff everyone on the property "surrendered."
In the end 42 people were arrested. Some of them will face charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.
Those facing the most serious charges were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail or Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall and others were issued citations and released at the scene.

The article didn't specify an age, but the last line of the article reads:

Adults aren't sent to Juvenile Hall. Ergo, at least one of those at the scene were minors.
Depending on age of said minors, I advocate for them being removed from the household, since their elders/parents/guardians are clearly not teaching them respect for law enforcement and authority, nor are they learning from good example.
The author of this article should be charged with bad punctuation, unnecessary prepositions and poor sentence structure. Good grief! Don't they teach language at the schools of journalism anymore?

One of the reasons I do post at the Vine is because it improves my spelling ability. Those of us who are repetitive learners have a much harder time than those who get it right away, but once we "get it", we can smoke you learners who get it right away and move on - we know subjects inside and out when we apply our selves where as instant learners just learn enough to pass the test. Several times I have found things in text books that even the teacher had missed, and they had been teaching the subject for 20 years.

The only time I've been in a vicinity where people threw stuff at the police, was at Lollapalooza at the Gorge, those were all white people...the concert goers won that one - the police backed off and let them party, but come 6:00am, the police herded everyone out of the campground...lol.
Even in a combat zone they still pay some taxes, social security and medicare.

You must have been living in make-believe land. I HAVE lived in some bad communities, and I can assure you that those stereotypical claims of the behavior of blacks and Latinos (but especially blacks) is well earned.
I have had to tolerate graffiti on cars, mailboxes, walls, and the black teenagers who walk side-by-side down the street blocking the flow of traffic. They hang out on the corner of residential streets on the phone and always have cars coming and going (drug dealing in case you missed it). They have loud parties and trash the property of those unfortunate enough to be neighbors. Cars get broken into and damaged, and beer bottles are thrown in the back yards.
We had older people too afraid to do anything or file police reports in fear of retaliation, and the police could not, or would not do anymore about it. Ahh, the wonders of diversity.
The point is, people of any kind or color can be a pain in the a$$, but when you mix different kinds together as is always pushed today, you end up with an often toxic blend of clashing cultures and people who have different ideas of how things ought to be. On top of that, the problem is we can't have a REAL and HONEST conversation about what really happens because too many people, like yourself, chime in with the RACISM and BIGOT claims and you don't hear anything else, just as you've been trained to do. The conversation gets nowhere.

For the love of all that is good and holy, please, please, before you post anything, look up the differences between "their" "there" and "they're." I can then be much more serious when considering your liberal or conservative view on this issue. A quick look at the difference between "your" and "you're" would also be helpful.
If you google Corey Worthington, you'll find a completely white, upper middle class Aussie kid who hosted a party in 2008 that went wild and destroyed a neighborhood, and yes, involved throwing bottles at cops. Not only did they make a movie about it (Project X), the kid himself became a celebrity and is going to host the Australian Big Brother house. He's making a career out of it. But then again, he's white, blond, and Aussie, and so he's forgiven and even admired.

San Jose in the '70s and '80s was absolutely the best big city in America to grow up in, hands down and NO serious competition! It's gotten a bit more hectic, a little less safe, and a TON more expensive- but the fact is, by any realistic metric you might care to apply, if you must live in a big city, San Jose is about as good as it gets.
I might comment in closing that if this had happened in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles or Dallas, it wouldn't even have merited news coverage- just another weekend.

It may simply mean that he views society, as imperfect as it may be, as more desirable being homogeneous, the way Japan is for example.
I believe there are no issues of "racism" "bigotry", or discrimination in Japan, but if they were to alter their population the way we did here over the last 5 decades to introduce an influx of cultures and races from many other countries, you can bet it would happen there too.

Amen to that. What makes California the hole that it is are the people, the people who overwhelmingly voted for Obama and who continuously vote for Democrats. You reap what you sow and you get what you vote for. It is amazing that Californians don't see what is happening to their state and keep voting for the same policies that got them where they are. The people at the party are just a small snapshot of the majority out there who embrace these policies.
