Former President George H.W. Bush, 88, hospitalized with bronchitis

Former President George H.W. Bush has been hospitalized in Houston with bronchitis.

Bush, 88, has been suffering from a severe cough, and he’s been in and out of the hospital for the last couple of weeks. He was admitted out of "an abundance of caution" due to his age, a source close to the family told NBC News.

"President Bush has been in and out of The Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center being treated for complications related to his bronchitis. He is in stable condition, and is expected to be released within the next 72 hours," Methodist Hospital said in a statement Thursday.

Bronchitis is a common condition in which the bronchial tubes in the lungs become inflamed and produce mucus, which creates the need to cough, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It can turn serious in people with weak immune systems, including children and the elderly. Symptoms such as chest pain, weakness and coughing typically last two weeks, but can linger for as much as two months.

The former president’s illness, though concerning, shouldn’t be life-threatening, said Dr. Zab Mosenifar, medical director of the Women’s Guild Lung Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Bronchitis in the elderly is “very, very common,” he said, but also very treatable.

It’s possible the illness could progress to pneumonia, a frequent complication of bronchitis, which would require antibiotics and further treatment.

“As far as I know, he doesn’t have history of smoking,” Mosenifar said. “He is a healthy person and he should do fine.”

Bush served as the 41st president of the United States from 1989-1993, the capstone of a long career of public service. He lost his first bid for the Republican nomination for presidency in 1980, at which time Ronald Reagan chose him to be his running mate. He went on to serve two terms as Reagan’s vice president.

Bush had been a Texas Republican member of the House of Representatives in the 1960s and 1970s and head of the CIA from 1976-1977. The organization’s headquarters in Langley, Va., was later renamed the “George Bush Center for Intelligence.”

Before moving to Texas, where Bush made money in oil and petroleum, Bush served as a combat pilot during World War II and attended Yale University. He got married in 1945.

Bush and his wife, Barbara, had six children; one, Robin, died as a child, according to his official WhiteHouse.gov biography. His son George W. Bush became the 43rd president of the United States; another son, Jeb Bush, was governor of Florida for nearly a decade, and is considered a top contender for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.

Bush has had an active post-presidential life. He teamed up with Bill Clinton to raise money for the victims of the Asian tsunami in late 2004. That effort was so successful, the two former presidents did the same for Katrina victims in 2005.

I never voted for him. But I did respect him, for his service to his country during war time, and for his long career in government service.

This is more than I could say for his son, George W.

Hello folks, let me preface my comments by saying that I'm a political atheist, I could care less what political religion one wants to attach themselves to. While the majority of the Americans are too lazy to do the research on the Bush family to find out what they really represent let me provide a quote from H.W. that sums up their family and one even the sheeple can look up without too much effort.

George Bush Sr. was once quoted as saying: "If the American people knew the Damage we have done to their Country, they would hang us from the nearest lamp post."

I can hardly wait to say "Ding Dong"!

George Bush was involved in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Look at the photo and the FBI MEMO.

    http://www.tomflocco.com/Docs/Jfk/HooverFbiMemo.htm

LBJ Planned the trip and the assassination. He was used to killing people that stood up to him including a Federal judge. His Mistress Madeline Brown is well known and tells it like it was. Listen to her. She's telling the truth.

Hello folks, can anybody supply the context for the above quote, as in the time place, and in reference to what event or events George H.W. Bush was speaking?

Trust Verify makes a great deal about it, and I find many references to it on the web, but always in isolation, with none of the where, when and whys, which might give the reader a chance to judge the words meaning.

Until I hear something more substantive, I regard those words, like most of the "facts" provided by the ironically named, Trust Verify with great skepticism.

Hello dman, it's all over the web, here's one instance of it.

    American Reporter:

Yes!, George W. Bush is a Criminal, or at least he is the most willing puppet of a Criminal enterprise. The entire family is a criminal network with their hands in drug smuggling as well as other illegal practices for many years,... not to mention their recent ongoing War Crimes contrary to the Geneva Convention, as well as their crimes against the American Constitution and bill of rights. Also, The Grandfather of George W. Bush supported Hitler during world war II.

George Bush Sr. was once quoted as saying: "If the American people knew the Damage we have done to their Country, they would hang us from the nearest lamp post.

After being asked if it was Constitutional to declare war without approval from Congress, George W. Bush was quoted as saying: "Don't throw the Constitution in my face, it is just a God Damned piece of paper".

Although many Crooked politicians, Both Democrat and Republican, have robbed and pillaged the coffers of the United States in the past, the Bush family Cartel has done far more damage to the nation of America, and has drained more money from the American people then any other Administration in History.

And where did all those ill gotten gains go?,... you guessed it, In to their own pockets and in to the hands of all their business Associates and parters in crime.

Democrat? Republican? it does not really matter what they call themselves, all Criminals are cut from the same cloth, and are plainly two sides of the same coin. There is no great titanic battle between them, and there is No Dichotomy dividing the two Parties,... all a perpetrated hoax and Elections are decided way in advance by Corporate interests. As the Russian leader Stalin who was responsible for starving his own people with food shortages once said:

"It is Not the Votes that Count, it is he who counts the Votes"

The Crimes and mis-deeds of both American political parties can only be measured in small degrees of difference,... However, the Bush Family Regime is by far the worst atrocity because their actions exemplify so perfectly the words of Benito Mussolini just before World War II:

"Fascism should more properly be called Corporatism because it is the merger of State(Government) and Corporate power."

Things aren't always what they seem. Look up Prescott Bush. Three generations of profiteers (as in war materiel).

Oh, and how about that "W"? Isn't he a card? Look up his military record (lotsa' luck).

      TrustVerify,

I looked it up. I found lots of web references to it, but nothing, absolutely nothing about the context from with the quote was taken. When did he say it? Where did he say it? Who was he talking to when he said it? What did he say before that quote? What did he say after? What was the question that was asked of him?

The piece you have provided above in a quote does not appear to be objective. The quote has no context. It seems like it was cherry picked out of some speech or news piece to be used by someone with an agenda.

If he did make this statement, and I have no reason to believe he did or didn't, did he say it because he was alluding to some criminal act he participated in or did he say it because at the time he made the alleged statement he had the benefit of hindsight to evaluate and comment on a decision he and/or others either made or did not make.

I admit that the quote raises and eyebrow, but by itself, without any frame of reference, without any other details, it means very little.

If George H.W. Bush was such a great person, why did his son seal the

Presidential records, back to his Father's Administration, and his own,

for 50 years after GW's term in office? If they had nothing to hide

there should have been NO reason to be ashamed enough of themselves,

      to seal their Presidential records.

Too bad, President Obama doesn't UNseal those records. Can you imagine sealing

your own employment records from your Employer? Those records should be available

to the People who empowered the Bush family, for all their underhanded dealings, including

whisking the Bin Laden family out of the USA, right after 9-11. History will prove how

devious they really were, creating "free trade" in order to bust Unions in this country, and

encouraging their cronies in Corporate America, to take their business offshore, and leave

the workers high and dry. I have no respect for any of them, including Jeb Bush.

There isn't one member of that family with morals to come forward and reveal the truth.

That makes every one of them culpable. Gag orders were put on the media, when the

Bush twins got into trouble for underage drinking. Some people have very short memories...

Those who have any respect for theives, reveal quite a lot about themselves. I wouldn't buy

a can of beans that carried the Bush name, much less vote any of them into government.

Hello dman, it's all over the web, here's one instance of it.

Trust Verify - I know I wrote my question in simple English; so I'm more than a little puzzled [but not surprised] by your response.

I did not say I could not find those words attributed, anonymously, to George H.W. Bush. I said I could find no documentation as to WHERE, WHEN and IN WHAT CONTEXT those words were uttered by our former President?

In response, you just parrot back the same quote:

George Bush Sr. was once quoted as saying: "If the American people knew the Damage we have done to their Country, they would hang us from the nearest lamp post.

I could honestly get as much from a talking bird.

Then you go on about the supposed NAZI sympathies of his father, while George H.W. was serving in combat, and the alleged, but totally undocumented [by you] drug smuggling activities of Bush in Central America.

You couldn't write a parking ticket with that evidence.

      So... one more time:

CAN YOU TELL ME WHERE AND IN REFERENCE TO WHAT SUBJECT BUSH UTTERED THIS QUOTE?

That has to be clear enough for anybody.

Please, reaffirm my faith human intellect and don't come back like a parrot and say "He said it, bwaaak! He said it. I saw it on the internet! bwaaak!! Pretty bird!".

All that will get you is a cracker, a few snickers.

So JFK had the election "stolen" for him by his dad and the mafia, temporarily denying Nixon the position from which he would later have to resign in disgrace. And that was a crime large enough for George H.W. Bush to justify the CIA's Assassination of JFK. Which put LBJ in power to reverse the JFK decision not to escalate the Viet Nam conflict into a war. A war that benefitted the Bush's and their employers enormously financially. No smoking gun there, move along. By the way, if you are in the mafia, and you haven't been convicted of a felony, you are still allowed to vote.

Leaving aside you supposition that JFK would not have escalated the Vietnam War, when George H.W. gain access to a time machine to engineer the CIA assassination of Kennedy back 1963?

Bush served in the Military is no big deal. Most of the men in my family, besides those with disabilities,

or health issues, served during WWII. My own Father was a Fighter Pilot during WWII (Navy), and my

Hello folks, remember the quote from H.W's. wife Barbara Bush during Hurricane Katrina?

Barbara Bush on Hurricane Katrina Refugees

        By , About.com GuideSeptember 8, 2005

IT IS, without a doubt, the quote of the hour — a remark attributed to ex-first lady and mother-of-the-president Barbara Bush during a visit to the Hurricane Katrina refugee shelter in the Houston Astrodome:

"What I'm hearing, which is sort of scary, is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them."

This is, unfortunately, what seems to happen when famous and/or controversial people are sick or injured: lots of deathwishing. None of it restored. Any commands/demands for President Bush to die deleted.

For example, lar-4249951 commanded both Presidents Bush to die in 74. Deleted, banned, one of their few posts was also deathwishing Vice President Cheney.

John Q. Public (comment #1.43) The last line said, "You people are just pitiful. Show some class even if you don't have any."

You still have me laughing (of course, at the people you are commenting about). You comment here regularly. Surely you know this is the wrong place to find what you would like to see! [Examples: you can't teach a dog to sit at a table and eat with a fork and spoon, you can't teach a pig to stay out of the mud, you can't expect unrighteous ... to fulfill the righteous requirements of the law.]

They will prove it when I post this.

Prescott Bush and George H.W. Bush were instrumental in the formation of the CIA community, dman. George H.W. Bush only became the director of the CIA to keep the agency from cooperating with the Church Commission Investigation into the crimes the Bush's themselves had already committed. You don't have to believe me, but you ought to at least examine where the "information" you do believe is coming from. And since the "facts" are in dispute, if you are a good American, and not an accessory after the fact to murder, you should support a real investigation into anything and everything, including JFK's assassination, RFK's assassination, MLK's assassination, William Cooper's assassination, Oklahoma City, the WTC'93 attack, and 9/11/2001. If after all of that you still think it makes any sense to look into Benghazi, you are the one who is nuts.

I wish Bush the elder a speedy recovery. I've always like him, voted for him the first time until I switched to Clinton. I wish I could say the same for his spawn, but don't like Bush the younger at all, at least in office.

"Sarah, "If the American people knew the Damage we have done to their Country, they would hang us from the nearest lamp post."

George Bush Senior speaking in an interview with
          Sarah McClendon in December 1992

You do know how to Google don't you? You can go to The State Historical Society of Missouri and read the interview there. If you had an intelligent thought go through your head it would be the quickest trip in North America.

          TrustVerify,

Your bigotry is evident. Being a Southerner does not mean I date my relatives. I am a married man of character, so I only date my wife. I have an honors degree in philosophy (emphasis on linguistic philosophy, particularly Wittgenstein) from a presitigious university. I have studied theology (2 yrs) in a master's program. I have practiced law for over 25 years. i am far more familiar with intellectual discourse than you apparently will ever become. The more significant point is that you have provided compelling evidence that you are a slave to stereotypical thought.

I've disagreed with Senior George Bush more than once. I've also agreed with him... he's the only Republican I can remember who called it honestly on the matter of supply-side: "voodoo economics". By and large I don't share much of his views on politics.

That said, I believe that he cares about this country. I respect him for his service. I hope he recovers and enjoys the rest of his life. He's earned it.

Isn't it ironic that someone calling himself "TrustVerify" can't be trusted because he obviously DIDN'T VERIFY!!!

            Here's his quote:

"If the American people knew the Damage we have done to their Country, they would hang us from the nearest lamp post."

Here's the REAL quote and context if you don't take in off the Democratic Underground or the Huffington Post:

"Sarah, if the American people ever find out what we have done, they will chase us down the streets and lynch us."

Notice just a slight change in the wording but the real outright LIE about this is adding the "to their country". That makes the context look much broader like maybe his entire term and everything he did as opposed to the REALITY that it was ONE issue and ONE incident. And people answered for it. What's the chances of this adolescent, moron Marxist currently in the White House answering for getting an Ambassador killed among other violations of the Constitution and the DAMAGE HE IS CAUSING TO THIS COUNTRY economically? (Oh, I forgot, EVERYTHING these childish idiots do is someone else's fault. That worked for me when I was 5 but sooner or later you HAVE to outgrow it. (Well, if you're not a LIBERAL you do.)

Here's the context, exact quote and my source:
            ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A reader sent in the corrected quote. It appeared during a June 1992 interview with the late Sarah McClendon, the grand dame of the White House press corps at the time.

            *************************************************

Sarah McClendon: "What will the people do if they ever find out the truth about Iraq-gate and Iran contra?

George H.W. Bush: "Sarah, if the American people ever find out what we have done, they will chase us down the streets and lynch us."

            It's from:

            ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now Mr. "TrustVerify", would you like to show us you have one last ounce of integrity and admit you [probably PURPOSELY] miss-quoted President Bush? I know, I know. ALL Liberals are "Integrity BANKRUPT". There's only TWO classes of Liberals; LITTLE and NO!!!

I don't wish him ill, but the truth is we all meet our creator eventually. Nothing that can be said here on earth makes a dam bit of difference. when he dies, Jesus will either send him to heaven with Gandhi and mother Teresa or arrange a luncheon meeting for him with Saddam and bin laden. I'll pray for his recovery and pray for his soul. why? you ask. cause that's what us tree hugging liberals do.

He seems to be a good and honorable man who was more interested in his country than in personal gain. There are many who hate him because he was something they were not; good and honorable.

trustverify follows the Alinsky plan to a T. I have no doubt people can find the quotes on the internet. It's a common tactic of the left: make up things and post them on the internet so others can quote you and seemingly, to the ignorant, come across as being intelligent. The thing is, it fails every time.

              TrustVerify,

You keep posting snippets of a fictional interview. Instead of providing a source for a transcript, you just copy and paste what others have said. There are many citations concerning this quote in this interview, but not a single copy of the interview is to be found.

It is interesting that Sarah McClendon passed away in 2003 and the first mention of this "interview" didn't surface until 2005.

TrustVerify (I hate to refer to an idiot using those words) has 4 pages of websites to go get stuff from. The problem is that none of the sources are credible.

On top of that besides the quote they don't agree with each other much. Just shows you how the internet is not the best thing to happen to people.

At least he is telling us to do the research and find that he is full of fecal matter. He fails on the Verify part big time.

Hello dman, I usually don't do the research for those children that were left behind but I do on occasion do volunteer work for the mentally handicap so here you go!

"Sarah, "If the American people knew the Damage we have done to their Country, they would hang us from the nearest lamp post."

First off, the correct phrase would be "mentally handicapped". When you are attempting to insult an other person's intelligence, it helps if you can spell and use proper grammar. Punctuation also helps. They don't charge you for use of periods and commas.

Now to the substance of your latest post.

Actually, Trust Verify, the sensible arrangement is for those making claims of special knowledge to document where they derived such information. If I spent my time digging after the proof of your wild assertions, I wouldn't have time to sleep.

But, using the cookie crumb you provided, I was able to attain the quote in question. Bachmann54 notes, you did not even quote it correctly. However I note that his quote does not match mine, which makes me question the validity of the whole incident.

              Here's what I see quoted (in http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x3683253#3683415).

“George Bush, what will the people do if they ever find out the truth about Iraq-gate and Iran contra?

‘Sarah, if the American people ever find out what we have done [including the orchestration of September 11, the murder of JFK, Jr, the destruction of New Orleans and this Constitutional Republic], they will chase us down the streets and lynch us.'”

—From a June, 1992 exclusive and published interview granted by President George H. W. Bush to Sarah McClendon, the grand dame of the White House press corps at the time.

It seems highly unlikely that George H.W. Bush, who whatever else he may be, is not stupid, would publicly go on the record as having knowledge and/or involvement in such a litany of crimes [the orchestration of September 11, the murder of JFK, Jr, the destruction of New Orleans and this Constitutional Republic].

To do so, he would have to be more than stupid. He would have to be stark raving mad.

I suspect that the list of crimes is an interpolation by the person posting the purported quotation.

So, unless you can provide a link to the actual text of this interview, I'll continue to view it as a metaphorical statement taken out of context.

Notice I provided the link to where I found this quote. It really is not hard to do.

To all: If anybody has a link to the full text of the McClendon interview, please post it. They say that air and sunlight is the best disinfectant for corruption. The same may be true for paranoia and wing-nut conspiracy theories.

So if you have a link to the full, documented text, let the sun shine in.

Prescott Bush and George H.W. Bush were instrumental in the formation of the CIA community, dman.

Paul, the CIA was established in 1947 by an act of congress (the National Security Act of 1947). At that time, George H.W. Bush, recently discharged from the military, was at Yale. His father, Prescott Bush, was one of seven directors of the Union Banking Corporation. He ran for congress, but was not elected in 1952.

George H.W. went into business too, until 1964, when he ran for the Senate and won. At this time JFK was already dead for over a year.

So, just how were these two members of the Bush family involved in the JFK assassination?

It easy to make murky statements of assumed facts. It is quite another matter to actually substantiate your claims with facts connected by some semblance of a logical argument.

Gee, Creek Dog, you might want to give some thought to moving. I'd always had robust health but when the stuff hit the fan, it really hit.

I can not imagine how, in any way, I could have received better treatment from the moment the ER crew got hold of me 'til I was discharged. Unfortunately ~or fortunately~ depending on perspective, I had to be re-admitted a month later and ultimately had open heart surgery. Amazing, I was treated better the second time. I had not thought it was possible. I felt like the Queen of Bohemia.

If you want the absolute best treatment, go to an Order of St. Francis hospital. They heal bodies and spirits.

Agreed. Not only was he one of the youngest aviator back in WWII but he has also a compentent head of the CIA during his brief tenure. If one doesn't let blind partisanhip blind their judgement to the facts about the former president then you can see that is is a very different bird from the last three presidents we have had. An elite membor of the unofficial American aristoracy? Yes. But also a man that understood the concepts of civil service, something that all too few politicans today understand. One thing I also like about this former president was that unlike his successor, and some of his predecessors, he has stayed relatively quiet on the political sphere much like Truman, to pick a democratic example.

Allow us a supoena empowered investigation, with witness protection powers and security clearances and we will rock your illusionary world.

No good American is supposed to think that it is "wacky" or Tinfoil hatted to demand a real investigation of murder. I gues you two don't qualify as good.

No one should be opposed to a fair trial.

Another Kennedy, Teddy, had the only confirmed kill in the War on Women and was a member of the democrat party. He died when the left side of his brain rotted away with cancer. RIP Senator.

Ted Kennedy was a strong swimmer and made no effort to save Mary Jo.

Your barking up the wrong tree - all the way went LBJ. Just like the fire in 48 that was going to show all of the illegal votes LBJ got to get to congress to start with. The dirt always seemed to go away.

Paul, your absolutely right. He's lied about his involvement with the CIA for years, then photos start popping up. Not photoshopped either, originals developed in '63. He was in Dealy Plaza and lied about it. Then he supplied the FBI with information about the Cubans. Take a look at the FBI memo. He was in on it.

George Bush was involved in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Look at the photo and the FBI MEMO.

LBJ Planned the trip and the assassination. He was used to killing people that stood up to him including a Federal judge. His Mistress Madeline Brown is well known and tells it like it was. Listen to her. She's telling the truth.

Prescott Bush was a leading banker for the Nazis.

Prescott, George I & George II were all members of Skull & Bones, an elitist, anti-democratic and occult oriented secret society at Yale.

George HW was CIA from the late 50's and lied to Congress about it during his confirmation hearings for CIA Director. He was heavily involved in the Bay of Pigs and is very definitely a suspect in the murder of JFK. Those who write that this is lunancy merely reveal their own profound ignorance.

As head of the CIA, GHW Bush smothered the trend towards reining in the CIA and investigating its crimes, allowing that institution to continue its deadly assault on US democracy.

George HW Bush manipulated the US into its first war with Iraq - In a meeting between US Consul April Glaspie and Saddam, she told Saddam that the US would not take a position on the "border dispute" between Iraq and Kuwait, thus luring Iraq into an invasion of Iraq to provide the pretext for what has become a decades long US war for Oil Company profits.

George HW cannot die fast enough. The flames of Hell await him and his corrupt and murderous progeny.

He wasn't voted back in because of the economy and his pledge not to raise taxes. He was excellent at foreign affairs, but not that good at domestic affairs. I really don't think he wanted a second term. During his last campaign, his heart never seemed really into it.

Great President, Great Govenor, and a Great Man of God. He & his family have done nothing but given the United States of America a Good Name. That name is to be chosen above Great Riches but God has Blessed them because of their Values and Service to Us as a Nation. Read the book about how they started making their journey of life and you will see that it was not handed to them on a Silver Platter. I was always proud of Both Bush Presidents and the Honor their wives brought to our country as First Ladies. Unfortunely Sr. Bush had to come in and clean up the mess Bill Clinton had looked the other way with all the women he could find to have an affair and never , never looked at mess in the east or even tried to negotitate with them to stop them in any way. I pray President and Mrs. Bush do well and Have A Blessed and Merry Christmas as I do to all those that make comments even those that make negtative comments. We need to be concerned about Mrs. Nancy Pelosi husband getting more than rich from the ethynol that he has the patent on that is destroying all our autos. Wonder how he got this, couldn't be that he had an inside tip, surely not. Have A Blessed Christmas to all.

Fastdraw, Not to sure what your correlation here is, but a Liberal doesn't know what taxes are! A Liberal assumes that taxes are for someone else who has more $$ to pay so they can reap the benefit's of their labor! As you stated," a Liberal wins the lottery and throws a party"! And continues to pi$$ away his winnings until everything he has is in default to the IRS. Who'd be complaining then?

Your right Troy, Reagan was a great Republican President. He would not have let the teabaggin, extreme right wing A-holes, hijack the party. He (as did GHW Bush) knew how to keep the boneheads quiet. Both knew how to keep the GOP an "inclusive" party, that represents ALL of the American people. Neither one of those Republican leaders would have dismissed 47% of the American people.

What happened to that real Republican party?

Get well GHW Bush.. you may be the last of a dying breed. (hopefully, not)

lol...the Clinton claim is laughable. Even his own wife can't possibly respect a pig like that man. The guy was literally getting his rocks off in the oval office with interns, among others no doubt....this is a bad man. I will give that to President Obama....at least he is repectable in that regard.

Eisenhower was plain and simple, a great man. Even if he never became President he would be more honorable than Clinton on his worst day. Sorry, but when the Commander in Chief can get his rocks off in the oval office and not get fired its a sad day in our nation.

The GOP of the Eisenhower era was surprisingly moderate:

"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes that you can do these things. Among them are a few Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."

                                    President Dwight D. Eisenhower, l952

The last true small-government conservative was Herbert Hoover, noteworthy among the presidents as being the only technical professional - an engineer. Unfortunately, the Great Depression ushered in the era of FDR and unprecedented government growth. This growth has continued to this day, through both Republican and Democrat administration alike. Hence why the modern caste of big-government authoritarian Republicans are referred to as "Neoconservatives."

In your fact free world you must feel free to LIE in public and on paper. he did cheat on his wife, who you guys imply is a lesbian, with Monica in the White House, but not in the OVAL office, dumbass.

Decent man, decent president. The only horrific thing he ever did was to have children. The last good Republican president was Eisenhower... maybe. And Reagan??? Innocent by Alzheimer's... the "teflon" president was the only president to behave criminally while in office and get by with it because "gee whiz, if you tell me I was wrong, I guess I was wrong, I didn't mean to do anything wrong or illegal... nice acting or maybe he really couldn't tell right from wrong.... or remember from day to day.

George HW, is OK. He wasn't the Bush who trashed the economy. He got us in and out of the Middle east with the Baghdad bomb spanking, and expelled the Republic Guard from Kuwait in thier underwear. He did what needed to be done. He didn't invade another country, only helped Kuwait get rid of the Iraqi invaders, then got the boys home with few casualties. He put in a no-fly zone, and isolated Saddam for years. Clinton took over after this President handed him a fairly stable economy, so he could then balance the budget and create a surplus. The reason GHW Bush gets along with Clinton, is because even after he lost his bid for re-election, he knew he could work with the man in a bipartisan way. When Bush Sr. left office, we were not hated around the world, like his son left us. Get well soon Mr. Bush. You are a good man, and a true American. Its just too bad your son wasn't more like you, you left the house in order, Junior left a mess.

Bronchitis is debilitating to your lungs, no matter the age. When you age or are physically harmed in some way, your immune system tends to lower its defenses and your organs are forever scarred ... and you have to 'start from scratch' ... President Bush is 88 years old. His age and immune system have lowered considerably since he has been in and out of the hospital for bronchitis.

The very best of luck to you, Mr. Bush -- you are in the one of the most well known hospitals in the world, and I pray for the best recovery you can possibly attain to live out the rest of your days.

George W Bush was such a disaster that it's hard to remember that his dad wasn't too bad. Best wishes for your returning health George H. W. B.

Marion, he asked why. You stated he is a criminal. Why is that? You have the right to an opinion, but be an adult and back it up.

Marion, you seem to be one the mindless minions that follow the pied piper. You do have the right to your opinion, as anyone. I too, have that right. Former President George H Bush is a man, something you may not be accustomed with. Hopefully, he'll recover fully and rejoin his wonderful wife, Barbara Bush.

We shall realize what wonderful leaders he and his son, President GW Bush were, when the pony show of the present administration takes the final bow from the big stage. As you stated, you have the right to your opinion. Back on point....speedy recovery President George H Bush.

Hey parratrooper, first of all im not a hater on the people who dont deserve to be hated on.Im just saying that would save tax payers over 3 1/2 million dollars a year if our tax dollars didnt have to provide lavish life style for our retired presidents.Secondly,i dont think you know the meaning of hypocritical.I dont think anyone who has been ripped off for many years, and then have to pay for there lavish life syles afterward for retiring, would make ANYONE happy for that person.
