Brides Penelope Gnesin, seated, and Brenda Sue Fulton, a West Point graduate, hold hands during their wedding, Saturday at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.
Cadet Chapel, the landmark Gothic church that is a center for spiritual life at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, was hosting its first same-sex wedding Saturday.
Penelope Gnesin and Brenda Sue Fulton, a West Point graduate, were exchanging vows in the regal church in an afternoon ceremony attended by around 250 guests and conducted by a senior Army chaplain.
The two have been together for 17 years. They had a civil commitment ceremony that didn't carry any legal force in 1999 but had longed hoped to formally tie the knot. The way was cleared last year, when New York legalized same-sex marriage and President Barack Obama lifted the "Don't ask, don't tell," policy prohibiting openly gay people from serving in the military.
The brides both live in New Jersey and would have preferred to have the wedding there, but the state doesn't allow gay marriage.
"We just couldn't wait any longer," Fulton told The Associated Press in a phone interview Saturday. They wanted to get married quickly also because Gnesim, 52, is a breast cancer survivor with multiple sclerosis, USA Today reported.
Cadet Chapel, Fulton said, was a more-than-adequate second choice.
"It has a tremendous history, and it is beautiful. That's where I first heard and said the cadet prayer," Fulton said, referring to the invocation that says, "Make us to choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong, and never to be content with a half-truth when the whole can be won."
The ceremony will be the second same-sex wedding at West Point. Last weekend, two of Fulton's friends, a young lieutenant and her partner, got married in another campus landmark, the small Old Cadet Chapel in West Point's cemetery.
Fulton has campaigned against the ban on gays in the military as a board member of two groups representing gay and lesbian servicemen and servicewomen. She graduated in 1980 in the first West Point class to include women.
“I was just a small town kid awed by West point and I loved the Army. I was so proud that we created a legacy that opened doors for so many young women leaders to serve and make our army stronger,” Fulton said in a statement posted to YouTube. “Gay and lesbian soldiers no longer have to hide their lives and their families – makes them stronger, makes our army stronger, makes our military stronger.”
Fulton said the only hassle involved in arranging her ceremony came when she was initially told that none of West Point's chaplains were authorized by their denominations to perform same-sex weddings.
Luckily, she said, they were able to call on a friend, Army Chaplain Col. J. Wesley Smith. He is the senior Army chaplain at Dover Air Force Base, where he presides over the solemn ceremonies held when the bodies of soldiers killed in action oversees return to U.S. soil.
The couple planned on adding other military trappings to their wedding, including a tradition called the saber arch, where officers or cadets hold their swords aloft over the newlyweds as they emerge from the church.
Sue Fulton, who married Saturday at West Point's historic Cadet Chapel, discusses the significance of the end of the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy in the military.

Man can say, "I sincerely believe this or that," but that certainly does not change the facts about the truth... It took man approximately 1500 years after Christ to decide the earth was round and not flat, that the earth revolved around the sun instead of the sun revolving around the earth, and that the earth was in space.
Isaiah 40:22
It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
Job 26:7
He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing. The Bible describes the Earth’s crust (along with a comment on astronomy).
God has reveMan’s so called wisdom in thinking he knows all that there is to be known is all but an illusion to him. True wisdom is gained from what man has experienced in life. There is nothing in this life that man can say for a certainty, unless he has seen, or experienced directly or indirectly that which pertains to his statements, beliefs, or faith. In other words, for man to say, “I know God does not exist,” just because he personally has not experienced a life changing event is nothing less than pure ignorance.al that America is the mystery Babylon in Revelation 18
Many in the world are delusional thinking that America is the only hope for world peace….. The only hope for world peace in with the Man of Peace, Christ Jesus.
Were it not for the Bible there would be no absolute truth in the world. Truth would be subjective to each of us as we decide what we perceived as to what is right and wrong. Hitler saw himself as being right in murder millions during his reign of terror.
One revelation from God is worth far more than the knowledge gained from all the books in the world written by men who have no understanding or comprehension of the absolute truth of God’s WORD
Knowledge and understanding of His ways are veiled to those that deny God's presences in this life.
Complicated world. Humans are a strange breed.
Perhaps the song is right. In the year 2525 ain't gonna be no husbands, ain't gonna be no wives.
IF mankind can survive. Something like that.
Glory to God and power to the people. Peace be unto you and everyone. Happy holidays. : )
Hey Sarah, I can't wait for the next abomination. Then, I will legally be able to marry my pet pig. You'd like my pet pig. She looks a lot like you, but with a great deal of common sense.
Greek,
First, if you're going to insult me it works better if you reply to a vine I've already posted on. It's easier for me to see. Second, you're more then welcome to marry any animal you want just as soon as they're granted legal capacity for informed consent.
Greek, such a typical self-righteous winger; when you don't like the message, ignore the facts and disparage the messenger. Vacuous.
Greek, why don't you have anything going on in your life better than trolling on the internet?
Looks like the pig is more "informed" than Greek is. On so many levels.
I can't wait for your next slippery slope fallacy to show everyone just how weak and absurd your argument really is!
I can't wait for your next personal attack to get you suspended/banned!
What a joke.
The USA will cease to exist in the future if inept leaders continue to allow minority opinion freaks to be the center of attention.
How insulting to West Point.
They can do whatever they want as long as they don't make gay love mandatory for everyone.
..
Further erosion of morality in this nation. I feel the time to retake this country is way past due. What a sewer it has become. Uncle Sam keep sending all of my checks to my new homeland where I don't have to be one of the sheeple.
Are you serious? You disrespect your country and want to go somewhere else but want the government to send you checks to support you? Get out...really? I think you should go...and God be with you...but let that new homeland raise you up to where you belong...
Forty two years retired US Army. I have earned the right to live where I like, post my beliefs, and disagree with the degenerates running amok in the US. You obviously don't have a clue about the military. Go troll on another topic.
Good Morning TOG 1
Good to see you out and about. I do believe in the same values - regarding serving in the military, a person can choose where he or she desires to live, as we have live where "uncle Sam" sent us those so many years - some we agreed to and others, we had no say in - that's why they call them "orders"! LOL People who despise the military have no sense of what has provided all their freedom to protest whatever they desire/dislike.
Good morning to you sir.
I sure hope we have enough troopers for the next real war. We are too physically broke, but mentally tough for another vacation unless we can invade Australia. Nude beaches, alcohol, nice weather. Send me in coach I'm ready. Freedom is not free by any means. Those who hate what we have done have never done what we had to do. Go figure. Who do ya like in ND/Bama game? Some good NFL games this weekend.
TOG 1
Yeah, that SEC Championship was a game for the ages! Me being from Jax, I like ND but als admire the fortitude of Crimson Tide. Bottom line, just hope it is a great game too!
I been to Australia many times while on active duty and then 2005/6, the wife and I spent 22 days there over Christmas/New Years - Melbourne, Kangaroo Island, Barosa Valley, Uluhuru (Ayers Rock), Alice Springs, Darwin, Cannes dove the Great Barrier Reef quite a few times and Sydney - New Years Eve fireworks was something both the wife and I allways admired watching on CNN - in 1 word Awesome. The first time I went there was 1971 R&R Vietnam and really enjoyed the area and the people - it also helped that I worked with the Diggers (Australian Infantry affectionate term) to really get to know their spirit. The wife and I will go back in about 3-5 years to see all that we didn't in 2005/6.
Go, if you have never been as you will truly enjoy and be amazed - the Aussies have the American "can-do" spirit that the majority of America used to possess.
Thank you Jack. My mom is from Sydney and I had the pleasure of going there several years ago. Sydney is a beautiful city. Am hoping to take my son there in a few years so he can experience his heritage. We are going to the BCS Championship as we are staunch ND fans. Go Irish.
Only been down under once in 99 to start up a new printing press. Didn't have time to explore on International Papers dime. I went on R&R to Japan while in country. Loved it. Was reading some post yesterday from DenverBill and IAscootertramp about the bus crash at MIA. That was hilarious. Wife and I are looking at trip to the US in February. Haven't decided on FL or TX. Gotta go take some meds and get ready for some football. HAGD. Been great chating with you Jack.
GO ND to all you Irish lovers out there. We bleed green.

Fare Dinkum
Please show your son all that you can to be proud of his heritage - Funny story, from our 2005/6 trip on New Years Eve, we were positioning ourselves at Mrs McWhorry's Chair near the harbour and surveying the best spot for us to sit among the 500,000 + spectators when we were talking and a person asked us "...if we were Yanks?" We said yes and she asked us from where? We replied Jacksonville, FL and she had an astonished look on her face - she was born at Jacksonville Beach, FL hospital and her parents still live there. Needless to say, she and her Aussie husband invited us to partake in their NYE celebration - food, drink etc, even though we were prepared to purchase said items, we were very grateful as she was delighted for us to talk about her "hometown" that was so far away, but she said that "Australia was for her..." I am sure your mom loves it there as we did - the entire country!
Evidently, you are the one that is clueless. Gays and lesbians have always served in the military. You were just not aware enough to realize it.
I was going to say "too late" cause I already have a gay daughter but then I remembered you said "nasty" and my daughter isn't the least bit nasty..she's a beautiful, loving, intelligent, kind woman who is a wonderful mother to her son and daughter and who is raising them to be kind, intelligent, loving people who do not feel the need to stand in JUDGMENT over other people who are simply doing their best to live their lives in turbulent times on a planet that is being trashed by those who do not care about anything except themselves and their WANTS and who are so busy worrying about who someone else loves and wants to be with that they make a mockery of religion and true brotherly love.
scottyyyy
i can only hope that someday when you have children of your own they turn out to be nasty gays or lesbians and if you are one on those people then you will never know.
There was an article recently about four homosexuals sueing some Jewish clinic. but the title said 4 men, not four homosexuals. The oxymoron to that is, how can a homosexual be a man? They cou;dn't live up to being men since they failed the therapy, understand? Same thing with your daughter. How can you claim she is a beautiful, loving, intelligent, kind woman when she's really a lesbian. And someday, her children will leave you and her for good, once they pick up a Bible and learn of the kind of betrayal they have been led to believe. In real life, my friend, as kids grow up, they need someone they can trust, love and believe in. If something tragic happens or you or your daughter were to suddenly pass on, what have you instilled in your grandchildren to help keep them alive? Believe me sir, you are lost and your family is lost.
Pretty much in the same way that YOU can call yourself a human being, MWG (using the term "human" loosely, of course, when applied to you).
You most likely encounter men and women who are homosexual in every aspect of your life, and you don't even know it. They are bank tellers, doctors, dentists, lawyers, teachers, dry cleaners, cashiers, wait staff, secretaries, executives, the list goes on.
Clearly YOU and your ilk are the ones who are lost. Society is moving forward and becoming a better place without you, and you will have to deal with being on the losing side of history, just as the bigots who opposed interracial marriage did in 1967, and continue to do.
Your family has my sympathies for having to deal with the likes of you.
ManWomanGod is obviously confused regarding the difference between sex, gender, and sexual orientation. Perhaps she could have used a little more of that sex education she is so afraid is going to infiltrate our schools.
This question does only one thing: prove that you couldn't use 'oxymoron' appropriately in a sentence.
So you think that some sort of therapy is needed to become men? By any chance have you been stranded on an island by yourself growing up or been involved heavily in mind-altering drugs?
Not only is this an abomination in the eyes of God, but it is just plain unnatural! If woman should be able to procreate without men then there would be no need for men and the same goes for men procreating without woman. Last I checked men can't produce children and a woman can not get pregnant without a man involved at some point in the process.
As a society we are in a moral decline and national acceptance of actions such as this are but one reason why.
Too bad for you christo-bigots, Ernie, that God doesn't make our laws.
BTW, homosexuals CAN and DO procreate -- but what does that have to do with marriage?
And why should YOUR morals (or, more properly, lack of morals) dictate what the rest of us can or cannot do?
You are right, marriage ceremonies with rings, in buildings made of mined stone and metal, conducted in accordance with written laws.......those things are all unheard of in any other species. Obviously, though, you thoroughly approve of the unnatural. Otherwise you wouldn't be using a computer or the internet.
And if you would have taken the time to check the topic, then you would know that it was about marriage, not procreation.
Who cares? Your god doesn't make our laws and not everyone believes in your god!
Procreation is not a requirement for marriage, or vice versa.
Morality is subjective!
If you're several decades old you're probably struggling with this as much as I am. We grew up with the thinking that was around for thousands of years - that homosexuality is deviant behavior. Not to hate, but to pity those afflicted. Science told us that about 3% of all species is homosexual. Now in the last couple decades, their agenda has been pushed forward so that you can't read or hear the news without tripping over a 'gay' story. This blatant, in-your-face, teach it to your kids, acceptable life style, accept every sleezy way of living....it's all very hard to accept. I'm just sick of seeing it, reading it, having it served up as the thing to do. And I do think its a slippery slope.
Thats the point, it may only be 3% of the population but the media makes it seem like 97% are gay, I don't have anything against it, just don't rub it in my nose all the time.
Thank you Mikesfriend. Very well said. I won't accept it, ever. It is deviant behavior, perverted. That is not a judgement, just the truth. There are many deviant behaviors. But, gays seem to want us to accept it as normal, when in fact, it will NEVER be normal. It can't be because you cannot procreate as gays. And, at the end of the line, men/women were created to procreate. There is a huge difference between tolerating something and accepting something. I will tolerate gays, but never accept their lifestyle.
Neither gays nor anyone else give two @!$%#s about the acceptance of people like you; it's all about equal treatment under the law -- and this wedding at West Point is yet another step in that direction.
WRONG (to both you and Mikesfriend). Homosexuality is as normal as heterosexuality is; the fact that there are so many more heterosexuals just makes homosexuality uncommon, not deviant or perverted. So you are WRONG on both counts: it WAS a judgment, and it IS NOT the truth.
BTW, the courts disagree with you, too.
What does procreation have to do with marriage? And who are YOU to decide that men and women were "created to procreate"? How do you explain infertility, then? Or people who choose to remain childless?
As I said before, no one cares what you tolerate or accept. BTW, when did you adopt the heterosexual "lifestyle"? And what, exactly, is a heterosexual or homosexual "lifestyle"?
Bigots like you tend to be rather elderly, usually over 60. Most folks under 30 support marriage equality and understand that all Americans deserve equal rights. Overall 54% of the public supports marriage equality, so it looks like bigots like you are in the minority today.
Bernie
Think of your children if you have any or plan to. Oppose this vile behavior at every turn. you might want grandchildren someday......... to carry your name.
MWG, gays CAN and DO procreate.
What a completely self centered and selfish attitude. Pfft.
Sick people, disgracing the honor of those who had served and died for moral America, turing over in their graves! Dispite what people are seeing here, it is not approved of by the majority and never will be an accepted practice!
Good ole Sarah does not mind displaying her messed up mind. Like a person that is mentally ill they are not cognisant of their inability to differentiate between right from wrong. It is like looking at the world with a form of dyslexia. She believes that her opinion is the only right one. She has fully bought into this lie. I would conclude that anyone that defends this as she does is gay, it only makes sense. Just the knowledge of two people of the same sex performing acts on each other is bad enough. A public display is ludicrous. What a disgrace.
P. Cartier,
If I'm wrong, prove it. Present a legal case, that holds water in our secular nation...
First, there are certain "protected classes" laid out in the 14th Amendment and the Civil Rights Act. Two of them are race and gender. In the Supreme Court case Loving v Virginia, SCOTUS ruled that,
Now this case was based on race, BUT to support gay marriage, all you have to do is change race to GENDER, another protected class. PLUS, the 14th Amendment has a little something called the "Privileges and Immunities" clause. Which means, you can't deny the citizens, their privileges, or immunities, based on those classes. In this case, that'd be gender.
So, since marriage is a legal (that means law) contract, that comes with PRIVILEGES, you can't deny citizens, without a damn good, already been shown to exist, reason, based on gender, among other things. So, if the state can't prove a reason, to deny privileges to people based on gender, they can't make that particular law. Now, put it together. If two gay people want to enter a contract, and the state tells them they can't, because of the gender of one of the parties, THAT'S A BIG NO NO.
Also, the logic that gay people are free to marry, just as you are, i.e they're free to marry one of the opposite sex, is the EXACT same defense that Virginia used in their defense, again just turn gender to race.
The court ruled, AGAINST that logic.
Second, you have an implied right to privacy, mostly through the 9th and 4th Amendments. In a the SCOTUS case Lawrence v Texas, the court said this...
Third, AGAIN, marriage is a civil contract, that comes with over 1,000 benefits granted by the state. Most of these benefits deal with property, insurance, tax and probate law. Civil unions, do NOT grant equivalent benefits. In order to enter a legal contract, the parties have to have LEGAL CAPACITY FOR INFORMED CONSENT.
Furthermore, marriages are NOT religious, that's Holy Matrimony, which a church can NEVER be forced to perform against its dogma, due to protections in the 1st Amendment. This is why people can, and do, get married any day without ever stepping foot in a church.
Also, marriage has NOTHING to do with procreation. After all, we let people have kids OUTSIDE of marriage, and NOT have kids while married.
Fourth, there are very few limited reasons for the government to discriminate in law, against one of these protected classes, and in order to do so, the government has to pass the test of strict scrutiny, which is that compelling state interest mentioned in Lawrence v Texas.
So....
The real question, those making the case for continuing the gender based discrimination of DOMA is, what is that compelling state interest? And before we start talking about marrying appliances, nephews, sheep, or dead people, ask yourselves this...
Since the only difference between a gay marriage and a straight marriage, is the gender of a single party, what is inherent to that single party's gender which would lead to bestiality, incest, polygamy, pedophilia, or marrying inanimate objects? Remember, you're ONLY changing ONE person's GENDER, so logically, it must be something within that one person's gender, which would lead you to believe gay marriage would open the door to any of those things, so... WHAT IS IT? Why would gay marriage lead to the repeal of the laws we have on the books, banning all those things?
Or, in easier terms...
Why doesn't STRAIGHT marriage lead to any of that?
And technically, the burden of proof is on those limiting rights, (the anti-marriage equality folks), so you all should really be making the case, not us.
It's funny, you don't mention any of God's laws, only man's law. hummm. And God knows the garbage you're misleading your child with. But anyway, here's God's side of the equation;
Romans 1:18-32
King James Version (KJV)
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Wow! The last verse Sarah, you're slapping Christ right in the face with the vile behavior you induge in and advocate.
ManWoman,
Yeah, that's funny. I don't mention YOUR God's laws because they don't mean jack @!$%# in our legal system. Please, walk into a court house and use "God's laws" as an argument. Just make sure to tape it so I can watch you get laughed out of there. They're completely irrelevant, just like YOUR version of God and opinion are completely irrelevant.
Do you really think I give two flying, @!$%#s what YOUR interpretation of YOUR God is??? Now excuse me, I have to go back to beating up Jesus.
That's because you god doesn't make or have any say in our secular laws!
Comparing man's laws to god's is like comparing a child's understanding versus an adults. No comparison. Homosexuality is still wrong and abnormal no matter how many hissy fits you gay people throw. Time to put a stop to this crap and stop forcing your perverted acts and beliefs on the normal people!
How true. One is made by real people and the other is made up by real people claiming a fake person.
And both qualifiers you use are completely subjective, so they're also completely irrelevant, no matter how many "hissy fits" you throw.
Sarah,
Pretty cerebral post.
Darrell,
You are delusional. First you invoke Hell. Then you send everyone you meet directly into it. Especially "Indians" who should be called Colombians.
Hell exists only only in your mine.
My wife's near death experience scared the hell out of me.
I am free for the first time in my life.
I finally realize that hell only exists in your mind, not mine. Go back into the hell that you created. It is for you only. It is not for anybody else.
Gay marriage is doing to real marriages what the Yugo did to foreign cars here in the mid 1980's. They are making the term marriage less meaningful for those with real marriages.
Just as the Yugo did for owners of decent foreign cars, by making it feel like something that anyone could do but the Yugo owners were really just driving in a piece of crap that had no balls.
Strange analogy, but true.
Very good Coolhand. Very good.
I have a "real" marriage (whatever that is -- I suspect you mean a heterosexual marriage), and my marriage has not become less "meaningful" since gays have been allowed to marry.
If you find it diminishes your marriage, or marriage in general, then it's YOUR problem, Coolhand (one among many, it seems).
Seems you know a lot about having "no balls," Coolhand.
Just saying.
If same sex marriage disgraces your marriage, then I'd say your marriage is in trouble and you are looking for an excuse for what you have created. Just saying.
Sounds like Coolhand's marriage is rather fragile.
If this marriage makes yours less meaningful, then the only problem exists in your marriage.
I see the gay trolls and their fan club arrived.
I can see that you have nothing to contribute to the topic, and have instead decided to start trolling.
You must be president of the "fan club," Coolhand; you're on here just as much as anyone else, telling everyone what a "non-story" this is.
Still trying to open that closet door?
A total disgrace
What a sad sad day!!!
This society is choosing the path that leads us away from God
God please have mercy on this country!!
Well, they do make a cute couple and if they could stand each other for 17 years hats off to them.
How has this harmed anyone? It is a continuing decline of the moral fabric this country was founded on. Whether you like it or not, this country was founded on Christian principles and marriage is a Christian principle. So, just like the gay supporters say, accept it, whether you like it or not. I for one, will NEVER accept gays as normal, will NEVER accept the gay lifestyle as anything but perverted, disgusting, and immoral. Whether you like it or not. I chose not to be around gays, whether you like it or not. Doesn't mean they are bad people. I just don't like to be around them. Whether you like it or not.
Morality is subjective, which is why it is not legislated. I would refuse to live according to your so-called "morals".
WRONG. Whether YOU like it or not, this country was founded as a secular nation, on secular principles. Furthermore, civil marriage predates organized religion by thousands of years; religion did not involve itself in marriage until around the mid-1500s. Moreover, other religions -- outside of Christianity, including the Jews and Muslims -- have been marrying for as long as Christians have been, so Christians hardly "invented" marriage.
The bottom line is that in this secular nation, legal marriage is and has always been strictly a civil contract. What your cult or any other chooses to do about marriage is its own business.
So, just like you bigots say, accept THAT, whether you like it or not.
And get over yourselves, while you're at it.
Then YOU, for one, will ALWAYS be on the losing side of the issue, as well as history. Whether you like it or not.
And you are around them every day of your life, whether you know it or not -- and whether you like it or not.
You know, I have yet to figure out exactly what is so amoral about two people loving each other and dedicating their lives to each other as a partnership through all of life's good and bad. Seems to be the very foundation of moral to me.
This country was founded on genocide, slavery, and sexism. If that kind of 'moral fabric' is declining, then it is a win for every decent person.
Demonstratably false! This country was founded on the Constitution. I defy you to prove otherwise!
Your acceptance is neither required or necessary. Only the government under the law is!
None of us care what you like, so get over yourself!
The media would like you to believe that the majority of people "accept" gay marriage when in fact the % is very low. Gays are a VERY low minority and will NEVER be the norm. They are an aberration of nature. Always have been, always will be.
Got any proof of that, jlsrunner? Because all of the available proof states the opposite:
http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/05/09/support-for-gay-marriage-outweighs-opposition-in-polls/
http://articles.nydailynews.com/2012-06-06/news/32084469_1_gay-marriage-majority-of-americans-support-new-poll
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_opinion_of_same-sex_marriage_in_the_United_States#Polls_in_2012
BTW, homosexuals have existed in approximately the same percentage of the population since humankind has existed. They are not considered by medical science to be an "aberration of nature" -- and that have always been so, and always will be.
Deal with it.
jlsrunner1
Oh, so much ignorance; so little time to correct it.
Runner
I have to agree! The less than 2% that are perverts and the less than .00000000001 who that come on here and try to defend homosexuality, I just laugh at their stupidity.
As we enjoy even bigger laughs at yours, MWG, as well as at your willful ignorance.
BTW, homosexuals make up at least 5-10% of the population, and that figure is probably too low, since there are still many who do not admit that they are gay -- largely due to bigots like you.
Oh, and one other thing: you think that "less than .00000000001" defend homosexuality? WRONG AGAIN. The majority of Americans support equality, which means that there are more of us who "defend" homosexuality than you ignorant bigots.
You're on the losing side -- as always. Deal with it.
People always find a way to justify their acts. I cheated on my wife because she was not giving me enough. It was a stupid policy and that is why I deviated from it. There not going to miss the little bit I took. He had it coming to him. The prisons are full of people that believe their acts were justified. So it is with the gay's. The Bible is a fairy tale. We were born that way. Animals do it so it is natural.
The simple fact is that the gay act is wrong in so many ways. The lie they are trying to make people believe is an awful lie and some have bought into it. They really have no justification for their agenda and are making a mockery out of our constitution. There are consequences for wrongful acts and this country will have consequences if we continue on this path of moral destruction.
Yes it's strange how Gays, Baby killers and Anti religion groups all belong to the Democratic party. You can call them Democrats , Liberals , Progressives or Communists , it's all the same behavior. Just a group of misfits led by a guy who is a Muslim from Kenya and now our Dictator in charge.
Guess neither of you "jeniuses" ever heard of the Log Cabin Republicans.
The simple fact is that you bigots have no justification for your agenda -- BTW, what IS the "gay agenda" that you bigots seem to know so much about?
I've asked on numerous occasions for someone to please bullet the points contained in the "Gay Agenda". Have yet to have anyone do that.
Gay agenda is to change public perception of a sexual perversion as normal behavior.
To use unrealistic justifications like animals, they are born that way and they are exclusively gay.
To compare their perversion with that of the African Americans, thereby claiming rights under the constitution.
To use educational institutions to hope to change perception by taking advantage of impressionable youth.
To attack and discredit anyone that diagrees their belief, like Dan Cathy who is accused of many things he was not.
To discredit the validity of the Bible and people of faith, because it conflicts with their one issue.
To attempt to demostrate that there will be no residual affects of so called gay marriage, or even worse gay's raising children.
It is all a lie that they are trying to convert to truth.
And some people believe that sex in any position other than missionary is perverted. The same with divorce, the use of condoms, etc. is considered perversions to some people.
You're joking. The schools that I went to never mentioned homosexuality and that includes two Catholic schools (it was never brought up or taught).
Tell me, when your neighbors divorced, was there fire and brimstone? When the black couple down the street adopted a white kid, did your family 'break apart' from it? When the the interracial couple got married, did civilization die off? Because I have have heard a lot of negative things that was going to happen when those things were allowed, including single parents (remember that one? If you were a single parent, your kid was automatically destined to be a failure) and nothing happened. I remember the screaming that some states that allowed gay marriage was going to be destroyed after one year and yet, NY is still the same and the other states before it is still the same.
The "public" does not perceive homosexuality as a "sexual perversion;" only the bigots do. Medical science does not support your claim, either.
Since humans are animals, the comparison is valid -- however, there is no need to "justify" homosexuality, least of all to bigots.
Since race and sexual orientation are both inborn, the comparison -- again -- is valid. Furthermore, since marriage is a civil right, and the arguments (as pathetic as they are) presented against same-sex marriage are the same ones attempted against interracial marriage many years ago, the comparison is further validated.
In addition, homosexuals, as taxpaying, law-abiding citizens of this country, are entitled to ALL of the same rights under the US Constitution that everyone else enjoys.
Educational institutions are correcting the misperceptions and misinformation spread by uninformed, uneducated parents like you about homosexuals and homosexuality. Unfortunately, we who work in education get to witness firsthand the harm caused by the filth you spread.
You are entitled to disagree with laws allowing same-sex marriage; but you are not entitled to deny rights to a group of citizens based on your uninformed views. Dan Cathy has been accused of being a homophobe and a bigot, and he is both.
The validity of the bible has never been proven; and it has been used by nearly all of those who oppose same-sex marriage as justification for their views. Furthermore, people of faith have not been discredited, except when they attempt to use that faith -- and their bibles -- to attempt to justify their hatred and bigotry.
This has not been "attempted" -- it has already been proven: gay marriage does not harm society, and gays have been proven to be as good at parenting -- and in some cases, much better at it -- as their straight counterparts. For example, it is truly frightening to think that people like you can (and do) have children.
The only ones I have seen spreading lies while trying to convince everyone that they are true are people like you.
Gay identity is much more than sexual activity. And homosexuality is normal behavior for the individual who is homosexual, just as heterosexual behavior is normal for the hetereosexual. So, let me ask you this, since you don't seem to be able to get past sexual activity (which is the fault of your superficial thinking, not homosexuality)...when hetereosexuals engage in those behaviors that homosexuals also engage in, are they engaging in "sexual perversions"? Think carefully before you answer.
And homosexuals are "born that way" every bit as much as a heterosexual is "born that way". It is a state found in many species, providing evidence of it being a natural, inborn state.
African Americans are perverted? Goodness. You should have thought about your wording there. And the denial of civil rights based on any superficial characteristic is just that...denial of civil rights. Doesn't matter of it is based on skin color, sexual orientation, or eye color.
How exactly, and where exactly is that happening? Do you really think that the LGBT population is out to convert America's youth to homosexuality? LMAO!
Dan Cathy is a homophobic bigot who donated untold number of dollars to a political agenda known as "Kill the Gays". He was accused of being exactly what he is.
I know untold numbers of Christian LGBT, as well as untold numbers of Christian heteros who support same sex marriage. They are far more Christlike and Christian than the bigoted Bible thumpers who attempt to use Christianity as a support scoffolding for their own hatred and fear.
There won't be. That has already been demonstrated. At least, no negative residual effects. There will, however, be numerous positive ones.
Nope. It is just a truth that you are trying to ignore. Good luck with that.
It is simply an ongoing effort to eliminate or minimize or eliminate the differences between man and women. It is occurring on all fronts. It started with replacing "man" with "person" and it will end with "person" as the descriptive word for man or women. It is coined by the left as "progressive". I don't see it that way, but it appears that the way this country is going, I am a minority.
Sounds like your gender identity is rather weak and unfocused if someone else's marriage causes you to be confused about your gender.
What's next? I guess we will be able to marry a donkey or a horse next!!!
And they will most likely get suvivor benefits should you expire.
Sigh...
Just as soon as a horse/donkey has legal capacity for informed consent. I'm sorry though, I don't see that happening any time in the future. Ever. Guess your "beastiality kinks" will just have to remain in the closet.
These ladies did not choose to be gay however they did choose to celebrate their commitment is ceremonial form. Good for them and i wish them many more years of happiness together. The rest of you commentators can now get dressed and march down the center aisle of your church and pretend you are doing everything your religion and bible command you to do.
Sick, makes you just want to vomit.
Bigotry, intolerance, hatred, ignorance, and prejudice make me want to vomit. Gay, not so much.
I do not care about these sick people stop addvertizing this crap.
You have the choice not to read it. Act like an adult. If it bothers you, stay away from it.
"Act" is the operative word with these people, DocJT. They don't know what a REAL adult is.
Absolutely disgusting.
It really is disgusting to read all these negative remarks from supposedly straight men. It looks like a lot of them have some soul searching to do instead of underlining biblical passages and interpreting the word of jesus for their own benefit.
The marriage of these two ladies does nothing to affect mine. It does not belittle my love or ceremony and i truly wish them many years of happiness together.
Yes, coming from a poster who named himself Anal Ream.
You my friend are a textbook case of denial.
Just like your opinion is absolutely irrelevant.
im sue your an ok guy and your entitled to your opinon but i have one word for your school of thought Goodbye
