So if retribution is what your after, go get it from your own people that originally enslaved you and sold you. Let's look at the recent election for some stats. Obama got and estimated 40% of the white vote. Romney got 0% of the black vote. He probably got some black votes, but it wasn't enough to add up to 1%. However, that 40% of the white vote that Obama got is roughly the same as he got 4 years ago, which is roughly the same that Al Gore (also Democrat) got 4 years before that, which is also roughly the same the John Kerry (also Democrat) got 4 years before that, which is also what Bill Clinton (also Democrat) got 4 years and 8 years before that. Over the last 20 years, Democrats have got about 40% of the white vote regardless of race. This basically means that 60% of the white population doesn't want to pay for the shortcomings of the rest of the nation and vote Republican. However, the black population voted almost entirely for Obama because he is black.

Ok firstly, slavery of blacks seems to be the only type of slavery people want to get past. I grew up in a Jewish area and all I heard was slavery of the Jews was a horrid thing, then I heard how badly Hitler was with the Jews and America agrees, oh but wait that was in the past let's get past that right? There were some blacks who did sell other blacks into slavery but.. they thought it would be the type of slavery they employed in Africa at that time. At some point a slave gets his freedom and is treated with respect and has certain "freedoms" even as a slave. These type of slave laws were in Africa and Rome and Greece. A slave could work our of his debt. Most blacks that sold slaves were under the assumtion that a slave they sold would have his chance at freedom in time. Anyone who truly studies American history knows this.

We learn about how the America fought for its freedom from England and hey let's celebrate it every year on the 4th of July! Japan's later generation after the bombing of Hiroshima were all given a large sum of money for the terrible punishment of innocents but not to the ones that the crime happened to but the younger generations. And then there's the blacks... no one from the United States government has said: wow that was wrong, in fact they lie and say the United States doesn't and should not have to pay a financial sum to any black for slavery becasue they were never involved. Yet I truly did see historical documents in a museum signed by the United States on how to treat your slave if they excaped, and how to properly sell them and breed them. I really don't know why I wasted time writing this because most will just not understand it and not be able to relate.

Not to belittle the experience of your ancestors, but the fact is that pretty much every race has been subjected to slavery, in one form or another, throughout history. As to reparation, if you want to dig up the ancestors on both sides of the issues (for every race that’s ever been subjected to slavery) and have them pay each other for wrongs done, I’m with you. I wouldn't say useless. When you look at the percentage of white victims killed by blacks the number is over 10% compared with the 4% of black murder victims killed by whites I quoted earlier. So essentially, a black person is almost 3x more likely to kill a white person than a white person is to kill a blackperson. There are many intelligent, rational individuals out there who think this shouldn't matter. Murder is murder. The hate crime statute was initiated to be able to provide stricter punishment for crimes that were committed on the basis of hate of others based on race, sexual orientation, etc., because racial & other hate is a huge blight on our society. You are probably the same type of person that wants stricter punishment to deter crime, but for some reason are against it when it involves race, because you for some reason think the white man has is so hard nowadays. I know what site you're referring to, so a link is unnecessary. Your 19% claim is correct, but I was speaking specifically about cases of a black individual committing a hate crime against a white person (a statistic I've been unable to locate). Who cares if they get convicted of hate crimes against Mexicans, Asians, or homosexuals? My point was that the law provides a bias against white victims and so far I've seen nothing of value to change my opinion.

Just so you know, I don't limit my complaint to black individuals only. I'm against any law or ruling that punishes or rewards an individual for being part of a particular demographic. For example, I don't think a murderder should be punished more severly for killing a police officer as opposed to any other member of society (an occurance that frequently happens).
