After three long and challenging weeks, Sandy Hook Elementary students returned to class Thursday at a nearby middle school in Monroe, Conn., where they will remain until their old school is no longer designated a crime scene. NBC's Rehema Ellis reports.
The children of Sandy Hook Elementary School returned to class Thursday, filling buses that took them to a new building where they were thrilled to reconnect with their friends and teachers after three weeks of mourning.
“Most of the kids were excited,” said Monroe, Conn., Police Lt. Keith White.
“They were anxious to get into the hallways and meet up with the other kids, and you could see the teachers had the same response.”
The 400-plus students had not been back to school since Adam Lanza blasted his way into Sandy Hook and killed 20 first-graders, six staffers and himself with a semi-automatic rifle.
Their old school in Newtown is still a crime scene, so an unused middle school in nearby Monroe was refurnished for them.
Teachers tried to make the new surroundings as familiar as possible. Their old desks were brought in, along with backpacks, coats, and lunch boxes that were left behind as they fled on Dec. 14.
Even the new principal was a known face: Donna Page, who retired from the role at Sandy Hook in 2010, agreed to come back after her successor, Dawn Hochsprung, was killed in the rampage.
Yet there were also reminders of how much the Sandy Hook community has changed since the shooting rocked the nation and stirred debate on gun control.

This photo provided by the Monroe Police Department shows the new Sandy Hook Elementary School on the first day of classes in Monroe, Conn. The school, formerly known as Chalk Hill School, was overhauled especially for the students from Sandy Hook
Police officers and counselors were on hand. Parents were allowed to stay in the building for the day. And children cuddled with therapy dogs.
He said attendance was robust, with most school buses full as they rumbled down streets that had been decorated with balloons and welcome signs.
Andrew Paley said he waited for the bus with his 9-year-old twins at the bottom of his driveway Thursday morning.
“They just ran on. They didn’t even look back,” he said. “There was probably some anxiety but it was more excitement. They both love school, so they loved going back.’

While security was very visible, it will become more low-key as the weeks pass in an effort to restore some normalcy.
“We don’t want them to think this is a police state,” White said. “We want them to know that this is a school and a school first, and that’s a place that they are to come to learn, enjoy their friends and grow up.
“We want to move on and let the kids move on, too.”
Lt. Keith White says Sandy Hook students were excited to see friends as they returned to school on Thursday for the first time since the Dec. 14 massacre in Newtown, Conn.
Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy said it took a “Herculean effort” to prepare the school in Monroe for the Sandy Hook kids.
He also announced a commission that will spearhead legislative and policy reforms designed to ensure no other children have to endure the horror they survived.
“We don’t yet know the underlying cause behind this tragedy, and we probably never will,” he said, referring the mystery of Lanza’s motive for attacking the school. “But that cannot be an excuse for inaction.”
He said the 15-member commission would look at three areas -- school security, mental health services, and gun laws.
“If 30-round clips had continued to be illegal in the nation or in our state, the availability of that clip to this particular perpetrator may not have existed,” Malloy said.
“These things aren’t used to hunt deer. You don’t need a 30-round clip to go hunting ... to honor the Constitution of the United States.”
The panel, which will issue recommendations in March, will be headed by Hamden Mayor Scott Jackson, who said the issues resonated with him personally.
“This is an issue that touches us all,” Jackson said. “My son is in first grade.”

The "new normal" for these kids will be their nightmare constantly reminded and their lives hounded by the media.
I suppose you can think that way... if you want to stay stuck in the past! At 63 I have learned to neither live in the past or worry about the future... LIVE TODAY IN JOY!
This is what makes America great.
Yes, we do have tragedies but we get right back up on that horse.
It's also people like Donna Page coming out of retirement out of her heart to make sure everything goes well. Kudos to her. I'm sure, somewhere deep in her mind, she knows it would've been her if she did not retire in 2010. She's now on a mission...
They should give it the rest of the school year to iron out the wrinkles then become a role model for all schools across America.
Yes, it's going to be rough on the kids with the media for awhile but, that's just the way it is.
I hope security recognizes when you have those "Arrogant" reporters in the kids/faculty's faces to shut them up and get them the hell outta there!
Good luck to all and I hope all of you can look to the future, and not to the past. We'll continue to pray for the lost students and teachers who inadvertently gave their lives to help create a better world...
Right NOW MEDIA leave them alone!
Is NBC reporting THIS story?
The Arab television network and mouthpiece of Muslim Terrorism, Al Jazeera said Wednesday it has acquired Current TV, the U.S. network started by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore.
The buy will give the network -- headquartered in Doha, Qatar -- greater access to the U.S. market.
The sale was finalized BEFORE the new Obama taxes took effect.
Algore.... the Liberal Media's Hero!
Fortunately our Police Dept has been keeping the media away from the school and has been having them move away from the area when spotted. Though on my way to work today I saw at least a dozen news vans in the parking lot of our town park with their satellite dishes pointed to the stars.
algore....we are just fortunate to not have been stuck with that idiot back in 2000.
The media won't be as troubling as those god awful little angel signs on the road side. I hope things like this are not everywhere for these poor children to see.
"He said attendance was robust"
I said they'd jail the parents for truancy.
well lets not put that out there as if it DEFINETLY going to be so as you put it
perhaps you mean you are concerned that might be the case?
Nightmares? Just thinkin about school would scare the pants Off Me!
rkm-4052849 Thanks foe being such a positive person. I bet you do great in life. Try not to chock while eating your chicken wings.
He is just saying leave the kids alone, let them stop thinking about this and look forward. Let them heal. Besides I am sure the parents would like to see the tv, newspaper, and or internet and not have their loss stuffed in their face. They need people to let them heal. We all know what happen, we do not need the news to keep saying " where 20 children were shot to death" every day. It is sad and we need to let healing begin. Okay just say "they are going to school" that's fine we know who they are and what happen.
and maybe you can learn how to spell!
Good thoughts are going out to the kids who are returning to school and their parents today.
Are they starting back today because of the time missed? Our schools here are still on winter break till the 7th, I know by law they have to go to school a certain muber of days but wouldn't this tragedy yieled an exception? Either way.
Have a great day to all the kids and teachers our thoughts are with you.
Schools in my area went back on 1/2 which is the normal schedule - Christmas Eve to the day after New Year.
I guess it all depends on what day break officially starts? Our schools got out on 21 Dec.
We had a bunch of bomb threats earlier in December which created havoc here (all unfounded) so there's a week of school the kids are going to have to make up, so i was wondering if that's what was going on here. Didn't realize different states have different dates. Thanks for the info Anita.
Most schools in CT started back yesterday (the 2nd) or today. Holiday break is only about a week here.
It depends on the school district and the calendar. My son (in Culpeper Co., VA) just went back today as well. His last day of school before the break was the Friday before Christmas. Some counties in VA went back yesterday. The kids from Sandy Hook Elementary School did not have school after the 14th. Today is their first day back since the shooting. But it was announced that they would not be back until the scheduled return after Winter Break. I don't know if they will have to "make up" the extra days off (the last week of school before break) or not. I do know that in Virginia it is LAW that they must have XXX number of days in school, so they may lose Spring Break days or have to go to school an extra few days at the end. I just don't know.
In NJ every township is different My town has 181 days of school a yr.
My son also had the week of Christmas off, and went back today. Feels like the school year is a lot longer than when I was in school, and the breaks shorter.
I thought that schools were required to be in session 180days. These kids will probably lose their February school vacation and April as well. Unless they extend the school year in June.
In NJ kids must attend 180 days of school. Winter break began at the close of school on Friday before Christmas and ended on Jan 2 when they went back. Due to the storm Sandy, they lost a week of school which will be made up by shortening their Spring break and going to school on Presidents Day. I'm so happy that the Newtown kids went to school. Each day will bring them a little closer to normalcy. Now if the media would only stay out of their lives!
Yes I live in Ct and my kids returned yesterday along with most kids in the state
No doubt they'll have to make up days somewhere. Most likely a combination of shortened breaks and a few added days. Though CT law prohibits going to school beyond a certain date in June.
It is also possible to request a one time exemption from the 180 day requirement. Many schools in NH/VT had to do so when irene came through in 2011...some schools were out a month before they went back after Irene...
kids are resilient, move forward everyone else.....they are.
don't draw conclussions based on how it is where you are
most places and states differ
example...it's odd and foreign to me for schools to start mid August but apparently now that' s the norm in many parts of the country
feels wierd ...odd not normal for kids to be in school in summer. My area we start right after labor day usually..unless it's well into Sept then we start half week before that weekend
Where do you live that Labor day isn't the first Monday of Sept??? They'd never go back any later than Sept. 8....
Home schooling or some other alternative to a classic public school setting may be necessary for at least some of these kids.
But it seems that this attempt to "put them back on the horse", so to say is the absolute best course of action that can be taken right now.
It also seems a might bit gosh to include the video of the NRA in this article, no, actually its pretty much uncaring... come to think of it, from the perspective of the parents of the children effected by this, who will never be the same because of the shooting, it is downright cruel, uncaring, unthinking and stupid.
And from the average readers perspective, including the video of the NRA is outrageously irresponsible...
Frankly the next time I decide that I want the opinion of the twelve year old crack whore who edits NBC news... I'll give it to her first.
Never the less it is gratifying to know that the children of Sandy Hook will finally be protected by the alleged adults who are supposedly responsible for their safety... too bad we didn't heed the NRA after Columbine. This discourse would be unnecessary, especially the part about the least intelligent man ever to be elected to the office of President of the United States of America... who also betrayed us and our children by coming out against providing armed security for Sandy Hook and the rest of our country's children.
The NRA after Columbine? Dude...there were armed guards at Columbine! The NRA is worthless.
Perhaps the NRA can fund the use of highly trained armed guards at all schools.
Dave, you mean the exact same thing Clinton was for. Ignorant libs always amuse me.
There was also an assualt weapons ban in effect at Columbine, a gun ban in Colorado, and a gun ban in CT. Gun-control fail!
Exactly truther! Gun Control will do nothing to stop the violence.
Lets all go see a family movie this weekend! Currently playing: Django Unchained, Gangster Squad, Baytown Outlaws, Officer Down, Zero dark 30, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, The Last Stand.
Good family movies...
The armed guard at Columbine engaged one of the shooter and they fired many rounds back and forth until the shooters weapon jammed...
Saving countless lives...
Bitch.
why didnt they just shut all the schools down in Newtown for the remainder of the year , pass everyone to the next grade, and reopen in september, if i were in charge thats what i would do, let the people and kids heal
Because that's ridiculous?
First, we're not talking college kids here, you're suggesting passing kids to the next grade after a half year of school and expecting them to catch up. It won't happen.
Second, really, you want elementary school kids out of school from Dec 14, 2012, to Sept 3, 2013? Will you be paying the day care costs for this year of healing? We're talking about over five hundred kids.
Third, this is certainly a tragedy but the more these kids hear how they'll never be ok without massive therepy... the more likely it is that they won't move past it. Keeping them out of school only reinforces how they are different and damaged. I'm sure a few of the kids are going to have a hard time, but most of them are probably ready to move on
Closing school would reinforce the idea that they are not SAFE there. They need to get back to school and get back to "normal" schedules because that's what children - especially elementary school (Sandy Hook was only K - 4) children need. I'm not saying that they should be forced into "healing" before they're ready, but part of that healing IS going back to school and getting back to their routine.
That's a stupid idea harryo....
What would closing the school for the year accomplish anyway? Next year would come sooner or later. Rap is right, you can't just pass them all to the next grade and expect them to be prepared. We are talking about young children. 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade is very important. A lot of stuff happens then, skipping a year would not be a benefit for anyone.
Legally that cannot be done Harry. Schools are required to be opened for so many days a year. Unless all the parents in the district were going to homeschool their children for the remainder of the year, they could not be promoted. You can't expect a child to be promoted after 3mos of school to the next grade and expect them to know all they should for that grade.
Shut down all the schools in the town? Should the teachers/Janitors/Library personnel/office personnel all be paid for the year for doing nothing?
I don't know. When I watched all the interviews of the kids on TV, they kinda seemed fine with it. Never saw any crying or traumatized. Maybe the kids in CT are just more resilient than your average child.
truther1234 - CT does not ban guns. We ban assault weapons unless they were purchased and registgered prior to a certain date. They were grandfathered in. I love these folks who think they know it all and misinform everyone.
sowyourseeds - The faulty part of your family movie statement is that NONE of them are listed as family movies. Thereby making your statemtent ASSININE. All are rated R.
Every child will react in his or her own way and should receive the support and assurances that child needs to deal with this, but it is going to be very important that the adults do not project their own fears and insecurity on to the children. While all the children experienced something, not every child was directly exposed to the same extent. Most of these children will never forget this experience but they will remember it in different ways. If the children are constantly reminded that this experience will color and damage their entire lives, then it will and that is not the natural tendency of young children in their response to trauma.
a sane rational nuanced perceptive post
I note that iroically it didn't get many up arrows and there are no comments under it
that in my mind says more about this forum than about your post!
I'm still waiting to find out what actually happened there. So many conflicting stories. Wondering when they will release the video from the school showing that evil monster Lanza on the premises. I still remember seeing the coverage of Columbine. All of those young people screaming and running. Odd that the coverage of this shooting is so much different. The kids really seemed to take it well. Good for them.
In 2008 I lost my twins to TTTS. Ever since then, I have been on edge regarding the safety of my other children. The fact is you cannot look at any of these parents and tell them how they should feel. The surviving children have been put in such a horrific place so young. The parents never thought that brining you children to school (6 -7 year olds) that they would never come home.
For the parents who have endured the worst thing ever, I am so sorry. I know how you feel. I wish you all the love I can muster. Know that you have a great community and that your fears are real, and NO ONE has the right to tell you how to move on from this event.
I am so happy that you are talking openly about your fears with your community. It will be a great feeling to know that you can be open about your feelings and learn to live in your normal.
I'm not sure what TTTS is Erin, but my heart breaks for you, I can only hope I never have to experience what these parents and parents like you have.
Amen.
I am so sorry for your loss
you seem to have much to teach people
don't distract by using acronyms because people don't know what they mean and many will get so distracted they wont' read your post
I'm thrilled that these kids are getting back to some sort of routine. I don't think there is any doubt that this is what's best for them. Seeing their teachers and conversing with friends and maybe getting to talk to real professionals if they want is the next small step. Good luck kids and staff! God Bless.
The new normal the kids have to adjust to is the constant sensationalism the media has stirred over this tragedy. If you want to do a favor just leave them alone to get on with their lives.
It'll happen eventually Pro, but right now it sells papers. My heart aches for these people and I hope the media leaves them alone soon too.
Guys, believe me, you're not the only ones out here that feel this way. Then again, agendas don't do well when you don't keep it in the publics view. Someday, this sensationalism is going to backfire right in the medias face, and I hope it's soon.
I understand the desire to shield the kids but you know we'd all be asking why the news isn't reporting on the story and why aren't they telling us more.
It's human nature to want to know but obviously there's that downside.
I don't understand why would you have the children go back to a school with the same name as the school where the tragedy happened?!? The name of the school alone would bring back memories of what happened there!! How would the children feel comforted by that?? In my opinion that is not "the new norm" is the new crazy!! These kids are going to be traumatized for life, and all the media and even the community can do is continue to publicize the name of the school and the tragedy that occurred there. Give the children something new and fresh to go back to, even if you give them the same book bags or school supplies that they can be reminicent of, give them somewhere, where they can start fresh new memories instead of being reminded every day they go to school about the tragedy that happened there by giving this school the same name...Build a memorial!!
Because for the children, the name of the school helps to give them an additional sense of identity. I know my son is proud to be an Emerald Hill Eagle. He identifies with the school and the school name. Changing the name of the school strips away some of the identity for the students and reinforces that sense of being "different", being "not safe" at school.
I was wondering the same thing. So many strange things with this story and the way officials are handling it. I wonder if they ever recovered any video from the school that will shed light on the many conflicting stories involving what transpired that day.
Its time to let this story go. Newtown needs an opportunity to slip back into anonymity so it can really begin its healing process without the glare of the news media.
The media pretends to care but all they want is the money from selling a story. Media stay out of the area. That is all the parents asked you to do and there YOU were on Wednesday hovering as close as the officials would allow. Sending pictures of the school buses all over the network. GET OUT AND STAY OUT!
I agree. The media should be more concerned about getting the story straight. After all of the inconsistencies they reported over the first week, they should turn their efforts to getting the video from the school and releasing it so the public can see (at least a part) of what happened. Otherwise, everyone will just keep going on as though this is some sort of conspiracy bent on limiting the people's right to own guns. I think the media is to blame. Just poor reporting. They need to work on their investigative skills.
Why the heck would you send the children back to a school with the same name as the school where the tragedy happened and think that would be good for them!! In my opinion that is not "The new norm" it's the new crazy!! These kids are traumatized for life, and the only thing that the community and the media can do is continue to publicize this horrible thing that happened!! How do you think that the kids will be comforted by this?? Every day they go to school they will see the name of the school where their friends were killed and be scared to walk in because their young minds they may associate the schools name with what happened!! That's just my opinion!! Build a memorial for those who were taken, and give these children a fresh start to build new memories!!
"the new normal" is their new life. Wrapped up with what happend. They need to learn how to move forward, after everything. It will not be normal to us, but it will be their normal for the rest of their lives.
It is also included with being spoke like Comumbine, Auroua, VT. They never knew this would happen. But it is there now.
i no right
This post is strangely similar to the one you made just above it. Same message, but slightly changed.
I can't understand why the students are going to a new school that has been renamed and remodeled to be a duplicate of the old school, right downd to the desks. I could understand going to a new completely different school to escape the memory of this terrible tragedy. I could also understand staying at the old school and facing the memory. What they chose makes no sense to me.
The article stated that the school building was still a crime scene. Until the police release the building and it gets totally cleaned, painted, etc., they had to temporarily relocate the school for the rest of this school year. I would think that they will be back in the original school building next fall for the 2013-14 school year.
A)they had to pick a new location for the rest of the year, the old school is STILL an active crime scene.
b) they set it up like the old one as much as possible to make the children feel more comfortable. familiar places are more comfortable.
The officials in CT and For Sandy Hook consulted with EXPERTS in just this type of situation and this was their decision in the best interest of the children based on input from the EXPERTS. Unless you are an expert in child psychology and in dealing with the aftermath of mass killings like this dont presume to 2nd guess their educated choice.
And since neither you nor I are parents or educators of Sandy Hook students, its not our right to question, criticize or condemn thier actions. Its not our school nor our children that are going there. If the educators or parents had an issue with the choices made there wouldn't have been such high attendance there today. They dont have a problem with the choices made and we shouldn't either.
@ Tired : I can't understand why the students are going to a new school that has been renamed and remodeled to be a duplicate of the old school, right down to the desks.
I think its the right thing to do, the kids are way to young to go back to the same location.. after what they had been through, but leaving the name the same and putting articles left behind back in the building gives the right message the kids will learn in life, you cannot run away from bad things that happen. This is their way of saying , it happened but we bend but not break. This is how it seems to me at least.
There were probably also budget concerns- The only thing they had to do was clean up and paint the other building, and move all the furniture, etc. And it sounds like that was all volunteer work. Replacing all the desks would be pretty expensive.
Now! You jackasses from the media leave them alone as the parents requested!
"The National Rifle Association has rebuffed calls for more stringent firearms restrictions and instead called for armed guards to patrol every public school in the country."
Good for them, much smarter then dismantling our Bill of Rights. How many of you are aware that the shooter was taking one of the most powerful anti-psychotic drugs on the market "Fanapt?" This is the real problem that needs to be addressed. The majority of these types of incidents include those types of drugs. There is a hidden agenda in the background, open your eyes and you will see it.
It takes a good man with a gun to stop a bad man with a gun. Protect our rights!
But what if the bad guy with a gun is more highly skilled than the good guy with a gun? The bad guy just gets to add one more death to his rampage. We don't need more guns to fix this, we need less guns.
Are you responsible for your weapon? Would you agree to be held accountable for any crime committed with your weapon? If not, you shouldn’t own one. If you are the registered owner of the weapon, you should be held responsible for any crime in which your gun is used. That will deter the casual gun owner from enabling criminal activity. Over time, that will minimize the amount of guns in our society.
yes because a group who wants more guns, wouldn't recomend mandating some places for guns to now be allowed. Thus increasing sales and members.
itburnswhenipee - I see your point, but....I would assume that most gun owners feel they are responsible. When I left the house this morning my pistol had a trigger lock on it and it was locked in my drawer. The bullets are kept seperate. I also locked all windows and doors. I also have a 100 pound dog that roams the house. I have done my best to keep the criminal element out of my home and my weapons secured. However i am at work and the house will be unattended for about 10 hours. If someone robs me, I should be held responsible after I have taken precautions?
Lets turn your question around. Do you consider yourself to be a responsible homeowner? I'll assume you have no weapons in the house. I took all the chemistry I could take in college. There is no doubt that if I broke into your home I could manufacture wmd's. Since you are the registered owner of the house then you will be responsible? If not, then you shouldn't own a home. I bet you have bleach, amonia, glass cleaner, drain cleaner, deoderant, aluminum foil, toothpaste, charcoal, etc in your home (we wont even discuss the items in your garage)? With 2 of those ingredients I can whip up a batch of chlorine gas (same gas the Nazi's used in WWII). So I steal your car and household supplies and drive to a movie theater. I mix the chemicals and walk out of the theater. By the time the movie goers realize something is wrong it would be to late. The chemicals would tear apart your respiratory system looking for its lost electron. Since it was your x and y I mixed together and I used your car to get there then you should be held responsible for the crime? After all the items came from your house. Over time this will deter people from owning anything. Sometimes the blame needs to fall squarely on who is at fault. The criminal element.
Where there is a will, there is a way. Regardless of how vigilant we are.
Surely, there aren't implying that armed police being there is making the school safer and making people feel more secure? Not after I've just read 3 weeks worth of news articles and comments where people were screaming that guns in schools aren't the answer.
Apparently you've never heard the phrase "I'm a professional, don't try this at home."
Cop versus average clown on the street, I don't know but somehow it seems different to me.
The NRA proposal was for retired/reserve military and concealed carry permit holders. They would also have to go through training and backgrounds to be allowed to volunteer at school. By the way, statistics show that civilians have a higher average of hitting their target than police do. Owing to the fact that civilians train much more than police do, typically only for qualification.
Why would you make the new school look like the one where the shootings to place? I'd would want to know that I am somewhere different. Not reliving it every day.
Little children do better with the familiar.
I don't understand why people keep saying 26 victims. There were 27.
Yes, Nancy Lanza made alot of mistakes - not realizing how bad her son was, keeping assault weapons... but she was ultimately a victim as well.
Yes Amie she was a victim with the most culpability...who chose to keep high powered assault rifles in the house and who was too afraid or ashamed to deal with her son's deteriorating mental health. She would cry, drink and vent to people in the town about her fears for and about her son-if media accounts are to be believed. I don't feel that she's an innocent victim-the children and school staff were.
I didnt' say she was an "innocent" victim. I said victim. Of alot of things. Of her apparent inability to realize how bad her son was, of the media (or NRA's) constant barrage of publicity of how guns protect people, of her unwillingness to get her son help.
But she WAS a victim. And as such, she deserves to be remembered with understanding, compassion & empathy.
Myself (btw it's AMYE not amie) being a Christian, I was taught forgiveness empathy & love - or faith, hope & charity. But to never forget.
Amye,
She taught her psychotic son how to shoot the weapons when she was afraid of him? Sorry, she is very much to blame and I have no compassion for someone that so stupidly put everyone's lives at risk.
A Bushmaster is NOT a high powered assault rifle. It uses a .223 round which is less powerful than the popular deer hunting rounds of .308 and 30.06. Stop parroting what the news says and think for yourself. Do your own research.
"She would cry, drink and vent to people in the town about her fears for and about her son-"if" media accounts are to be believed."
rock and roll mom, do you see that little word you yourself used, that I put quotations around and made bold? Think about it for a while. Stands out like a sore thumb now, doesn't it? The media isn't always "right" about everything they put in front of our faces.
Only in America-2604171
........OR HONEST. People on here, please go back and look at what we were shown a few more times (the interviews, the news footage, the lack of video and evidence). Look at the posts on here, who is making them and how they repeat. Figure it out.
JJJJ, give the conspiracy theories a rest.
Roxlie-high or low powered-the victims are still dead...right?
LEAVE THESE KIDS ALONE FOR GOD'S SAKE.....everytime you idiots in the media stick a mic or camera in their face and ask them to talk, you are just making things worse for them.
Its got to be tough for kids, parents, staff, all those involved. There will never be another "normal" day at school for these kids. The media needs to stay the hell away and let them get on with their lives.
As a parent of a first grader, I don't think I could send my kid off to school so soon. I'd have to go with him or I would lose it. The kids will get over this quicker than the parents. They are too young to totally understand what has happened.
Any of you following 'conspiracy theories' will know that they closed down schools in Narrows, VA, after they noticed Strike Zone 2 on the Batman Dark Knight Rises map was named Narrows. Strike Zone 1 was named Sandy Hook. When THEY take it seriously, it's time to think.
How do people in other countries deal with tragedies like this, do they tear down their schools or businesses and move, or pick up the pieces and continue on with Life? I'm not trying to minimize this event, but terrorism is a daily event in other countries that seem to manage life differently. I agree with some of the comments here that suggest the Media is maximizing their broadcast dollars at the benefit of viewers emotions.
Is NBC reporting THIS story?
The Arab television network and mouthpiece of Muslim Terrorism, Al Jazeera said Wednesday it has acquired Current TV for a reported $100 Million dollars.
The U.S. network started by former U.S. Vice President, Democrat Al Gore.
The buy will give the network -- headquartered in Doha, Qatar -- greater access to the U.S. market.
The sale was finalized BEFORE the new Obama taxes took effect.
