Saudi Air Force sergeant accused of Vegas child rape

Las Vegas PD via AP

Mazen Alotaibi, 23, faces charges including kidnapping, sexual assault with a minor and felony coercion.

A sergeant in Saudi Arabia's air force was jailed in Las Vegas on charges that he pulled a boy into a hotel room and sexually assaulted him the morning of New Year's Eve.

Mazen Alotaibi, 23, faces charges including kidnapping, sexual assault with a minor and felony coercion that could get him decades in state prison, according to police and charging documents obtained Friday.

The boy, who is younger than 14, told police the man forced him into a room at the Circus Circus hotel on the Las Vegas Strip and raped him. Police arrested Alotaibi after being called to the hotel before 9:30 a.m. Dec. 31.

"There was a kidnapping and sexual assault with force," Las Vegas police Lt. Dan McGrath said. "The victim said he was forced into the room and sexually assaulted. We have a strong case based on the evidence."

The boy, who lives out of state, was staying at the hotel with his family, McGrath said. He was taken to a hospital for medical treatment and evidence collection and released later to family members. His name was not made public.

McGrath said Alotaibi produced a Saudi Arabian military identification and said he was stationed at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland near San Antonio, Texas. U.S. federal authorities and Saudi military officials were notified, the police lieutenant said.

Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland spokesman Brent Boller told The Associated Press that records showed Alotaibi is currently stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss. Boller said he could not immediately verify if Alotaibi had been at Lackland, but noted that international military students attend a Defense Language Institute English Language Center on the base to improve their English-language skills.

Alotaibi's lawyer, Don Chairez of Newport Beach, Calif., said Friday he had been in contact with U.S. military authorities at both air force bases and with the Saudi government. He said Alotaibi had come to Las Vegas for the New Year's celebration and will plead not guilty.

Alotaibi also is charged with burglary, which in Nevada can stem from a person entering a building with intent to commit a felony.

The alleged attack took place on the sixth floor of a 15-story hotel tower. Circus Circus has a total of 3,767 guest rooms in three towers and five three-story motor lodge-style buildings dubbed Circus Circus Manor.

The arrest was first reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. It cited a police report saying the boy was 13.

Alotaibi was being held without bail at the Clark County jail pending an evidence hearing Jan. 17.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas; except when a deprived terrorist gets his rocks off with a boy in a hotel room. DOESN'T MATTER if it is at Circus Circus.

The deprived terrorist ought to have his weener chopped off. That's what would happen in his home country.

Are Hillary and Liebermanns Republicans?

Hillary learnt a lot of lessons from House of Saud on human rights, women rights and all rights.

The followers of Islamic cult have only done hating, raping, kidnapping, stealing, looting, killing and genocides of "minorities" since its birth. Mohammed is the best model.

When they started losing in their games badly, then they had love, peace, charity singings, dances, Ramadan shows all night along! They are called Sufis.

Unfortunately, Sunnis following Saudi version of Salaffi and Wahhabi have declared these Sufis as infidels and now go bang: jihad on them.

So poor love and peace dancers are on the run in Mali, Pakistan and other places.

By the by, can these love and peace come to the US, Britain and other places and teach how Sharia Laws are good?

Islam has strict war rules where it is strictly forbidden to kill women, children, and elderly people ! Islam even has environmental concerns whereby it is even forbidden to destroy trees ! Study Arabic, read the Quran before you judge what you do not know ! Islam has reached peace with their Budhist and Hindu neighbors till western imperialist capitalist arrived with their divide and conquer BS and destroyed the harmony all over our planet between nations and peoples even within the our nation !

ProudWestVirginian: Liberals support the rights of consenting adults to love whom they please. This man kidnapped and raped a child. I guess a man who rapes a little girl is engaged in a garden variety heterosexual relationship by your standards. Oh, and you are on the wrong side of history regarding gay rights. Republicans always opine about the good ol days. What, when there was slavery? When people of color knew their place? When labor worked to pay the company store? When children could work in factories? When rivers burned?

Oh yea, when old white males called all the shots...................

You seem to have a thing for taking points out of context. Drones are used because countries like Pakistan are too decentralised and corrupt to take control of areas Islamic extremists occupy. There are no police. They won't let us in, if we wanted to chase these people all over earth. There is no court, and no justice. What there is are fiery missiles that punish people who associate with suspicious types.

I don't support the drones, but that doesn't mean I buy into the conspiratorial crap. Why do you think we spend money to "slaughter innocent people?" Take my word, we have better uses for our money; come up with a better story that makes sense.

That sounds self-contradictory. Of course they let us in - we go in with drones. The reason we go in with drones is that it's 0 risk to us, and if and when we kill children and innocent civilians, we still don't have to pay anything.

I'm sure the Bush way of invading with 500,000 troops dropping more tonnage of explosives than we did in WW2 never killed an innocent. Clearly targetting known enemy leaders with smart bombs is so invasive. No I wouldn't support drones in the U.S. targeting criminals nor the Bush way with Bradleys, cruise missles and B-1's.

That sounds self-contradictory. Of course they let us in - we go in with drones. The reason we go in with drones is that it's 0 risk to us, and if and when we kill children and innocent civilians, we still don't have to pay anything.

How very John Wayne of you. The Bush way of 5000 American soldiers dying in his pursuit of finding imaginary WMD is so much manlier. Too bad it wasn't people like him and you that paid that price. Most of us put a higher price on American lives and bleed less for terrorists. Amazing how little regard right wingers had for innocents killed when Bush and Cheney were doing their thing. Now they cry for them. Where was your outrage when Bush started these?

I wonder if you were there and had the choice between being on the team that went deep into a hostile country possibly having to fight hundreds of armed terrorists if you'd choose to go in or send a drone? Funny how right wingers talk about bleeding heart liberals than cry about a possible innocent killed. If you were that concerned where was your outrage when the invasion of Iraq was estimated by the UN to exceed 100,000 Iraqi's killed with over half non combatants? How about a few tears for the Americans that would be killed going after the dirtbags possibly planning another 9-11. In any case you'd be safe as I doubt you've fought anything more violent than a cold.

          109,032 deaths including 66,081 civilian deaths.[7][8]

I'd say the Obama way takes less lives.

The difference between the devils here and the devils in Saudi Arabia is that Saudi Arabia like many Islamic countries puts child rapists to death, not decades in jail.

However, if he was a victim himself, and this more often than not is the case I'd say a decade or two given that he used force on his victim is justice.

BudsAndSuds : Not really; what he did is normal behavior in Muslim countries. The even go to poor African countries and get little boys to raise with their sons and the poor little boy stays with the family until at least 22 years of age before he is sent home. Sometime if they are in love, they stay together. Do some research and you will see this is true.

These Las Vegas police are wrong.

Alotaibi was imagining that he was flying a House of Saud's jet!

Many look the other way when House of Saud models of human rights do such things regularly.

So why not the police permit the sergeant to fly his jet like their masters?

Can those big talkers/dancers of Britain let us know: what happened to the Saudi prince who tore his body guard to pieces in London?

Did the case reach up to EU human rights commissions?

Oh no its not. Just because some zealots took down the World Trade Center all Islamic people must be evil?

I've seen videos on youtube of them hanging people who raped women. I assure you they execute child rapists. The only thing that concerns me is that they might not establish a psychological profile and sexual abuse history before executing people for these offenses in Islamic countries.

It's not that they are too lenient that worries me in dealing with human rights issues, it's that they might be too harsh without considering the background of the person committing an offense that might warrant the death penalty unless the person was a victim themselves.

If he was identified as a victim and received counseling then you statement holds true. Also depends a lot on how old he was, if he was a victim. What if he was as young as four? What if the incident wasn't an act of coercion but a violent aggressive act? There are many factors to consider. Not all cases of sexual abuse are the same. No one's saying that he shouldn't do 20 years in jail. What I am saying is the death penalty if he was a victim is overkill.

My point was this. Having seen youtube videos of Iran hanging 3 guys who raped a woman then they absolutely have a more stiff penalty than we do for child rape. I wonder if they would even consider this Air Force sargeant might be a victim himself before hanging him.

When Sandusky was first convicted I saw that he requested to be put in with the general population. I was happy to hear that. And then I thought, you know if he was a victim himself putting him in the general population would be unjust. In fact the very fact that Sandusky didn't eat his gun like Adam Mayes suggested to me that he was victim otherwise "the Man upstairs" would have sent him to the same place as Adam Mayes.

                  This is all hypothetical.

As for the individual who committed this heinous act, there is no excuse, no justification for mercy, even if he had been abused himself to stay the scales of justice. There comes to mind a scripture however which seems to describe this situation adequately.Mark 9:42

"And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea"

What this criminal did is even more disgusting and I hope if he is guilty that he gets the full punishment due. Do not blame Islam for Saudi Arabias perverted twist in its interpretations. True Islam is absolutely innocent of Saudi Arabia and its conduct as True Christianity is innocent of the hypocritical Vatican, and as Judaism is innocent of aggressive Zionism ! All religions if truly followed are blessings to man-kind.

I do not know which "clerics" you have been listening to ?! How-ever the "clerics" in "Saudi" Arabia do not represent Islam, but their "westernly educated " corrupt masters. The Quran is what truly represents Islam, and unfortunately most of you will not even bother to learn Arabic to truly comprehend what is written there. You only judge based on blind hate, perhaps you were a "Boy Toy". Proper muslims raise their children beautifully, and they treat their women way better than you treat women in the corrupted western world. You get innocent 18 year olds, supposedly, and gag and rape them with football teams, all your most beautiful girls are turned into drug addicts and prostitution as a result of hypocritical religion and truly satanically brainwashed masses. So as Jesus once said, look at your own faults before judging others !

I've yet to see "true Islam" or "true Christianity" for that matter. Mostly religion is used to control populations, nothing more than power and greed.

Johny has been all over these forums today.

It's no surprise to anyone that young boys are raped in the middle east, it isn't a surprise that the women are treated like property.

BTW Johny if the USA wanted to simply kill civilians it could do it easily without worrying about retribution or defense from any country on the planet. The USA has trouble killing the particular people it wants to. it takes great care in NOT taking civilian deaths. That is the truth, I'm sorry if you don't believe it but if you consider the facts, the capabilities and resources of the US military you would only be left with that conclusion.

So he raped a kid. Hell, the Saudi's slaughtered 3000 American citizens, destroyed a landmark building, and got rewarded for it. How are we going to reward this Saudi for raping an American kid?

I was at Lakeland, (besides basic training) there was a whole "section" of the base devoted to training Foreign Officers and NCO's. At Sheppard AFB there were classes of foreign students. Not only do we sell them the hardware but we train them to use it.

I was also at Sheppard AFB, and during my tour there was a barracks chief over a group of Iranians. To say they were animals is an insult to the animal kingdom. They never bathed once during the six months I was in the same dorm. Their leader advised me to let him manage his troops and stay out of the way and there would be no problems. I did and there wasn't any trouble. All I had to endure was a constant overwhelming stench of body odor. And best of all my squadron commander advised me to just let it go. If Americans only knew how our enemies are catered to by our government.

Sheppard AFB is not closed. Maybe some of the training was moved out, but it's far from closed. It is still the NATO training base. I've never heard of any Iranians there.

Thank you, Last I heard a while back was when I saw it on a list of Military installation closings. The Air Force could have changed it's mind. When I was there (many years ago) I dont know what nationality they were but there was students from other countries.

They have allowed foriegn military training on US military bases for many years. Way back [over 30 years ago] when I was at Sheppard AFB, there were Iranians in training there. I saw them at Lackland AFB TX, Keesler AFB MS and a few at Eglin AFB FL over my time in the military.

In Far East Muslim countries, having boy toys is the norm. Ask anyone who has spent any time there, civilian workers or military. What he did in Las Vegas, would be bragging rights in Saudi Arabia. Prison won't be so bad for him considering his background. He spent his youth as someones boy toy, so in his mind, he did nothing wrong.

How do you know this ? Were you a "Boy Toy" ? I grew up in Islamic countries and only Saudi Arabia had this reputation. Saudi Arabia due to its Imperial investors got more and more corrupt. True muslims are truly persecuted in Saudi Arabia where only the corrupt are allowed to succeed. Islam is absolutely innocent of todays "Saudi" Arabia. As a Christian I have read the Quran and the behavior of this pilot is absolutely criminal according to the Quran. Sex is only permissible in marriage between male and female, and absolutely not permissible in any other situation. As for MC Gusto I am only alarmed that people like you exists and in very large numbers !

Thats because the Afghans and Iraqis who work with our troops hate their own religion and people, and are the nastiest of their society that commit such horrible behaviors with no sense of ethics or values, and dream of immigrating to have access to wealth and blonds, and unfortunately for Americans, these are the quality of "people" that America is welcoming.

I met some Moroccan men several years ago (friends of a friend). We spent a New Years Eve talking and BBQing. During the course of that night they told me that it was the norm in Islam for women to engage in anal sex prior to marriage as it does not break the hymen, thus ruining them for their husband's. They also told me that while many men were straight, they did resort to anal sex with other males (they did not specify age groups for either men or women) prior to marriage as a form a sexual relief. Their justification was that if it is not vaginal, it was not truly sex, thus they remained "virgins". Whether these men were BSing me or not, I don't know. However, after reading this article, I hope they were speaking of only consensual sex between adults.

I have met such nasty people as you mention, but they are not religious and many times hate their own religion. Many of them can't wait to kill their fellow countrymen in the hopes that that would one day give them access to beautiful western blonds. And unfortunately these are the quality of nasty people that western governments welcome to western nations.

Sorry, Johny, but I've been to the Middle East on more than one occasion, and while I've not seen women brutalized, I have seen the unequal treatment they are given. It's almost as if they are second class citizens. I cannot respect a culture that will allow men to freely groom themselves in public, but not women. I do not agree or respect a culture that makes women hide themselves from the public. I do not respect a culture where a man can run in to a woman, knock her down, and continue on as if nothing happened without so much as an apology or an excuse me. I cannot respect a culture that tells women they cannot make eye contact with men, and if they are traveling with a man, they cannot speak to a taxi driver, but must allow the man to do it. That's disgraceful.

These Moroccan men that I met and spoke with for an evening demonstrated some of these same traits. While their practices and beliefs may not be the norm, the unequality, and what I consider demeaning treatment is, and I know this from first hand experience, not from watching TV or talking to someone else.

When I lived there me and my Arabian friends would have beaten up any guy that dare lay a hand on a woman. And the girls were free to go about anywhere. Victorian England was much like that, except that in Islamic nations women vote and drive cars, except in Saudi Arabia. What you are talking about is mostly taking place in Saudi Arabia and is being exported to other Islamic nations with the baking of western financiers to make Islam look bad. The Saud family job is to make Islam look bad, so as to create a divide between the people of different nations, how-ever Islam is innocent of them and the ignorance that they export. But unfortunately much of the world today is going in the wrong direction.

JMB1981... I agree with johny as far as this kind of stuff happens mostly in saudi arabia which has the most oppressive and corrupt regime in the middle east. but for you to lump all middle easterns as pervert is just shows that you have an agenda of demonizing the whole middle east. it would be more appropriate to specify the country that you have traveled to than just lumping the whole middle east as one. there are over 30 countries in the middle east. they are not all arabs and they are not all muslims. the greater middle east includes armenia, israel as well as iran. so please be more specific of what country you are referring to.

Saudi's are too civilized for that to be not on the down low. The guy should have got his freak on in Afghanistan or Yemen or Iraq where nambla-esque behavior is tolerated by US troops:

As recently covered by Examiner.com, the U.S. Army has floated a draft of a new training manual to be utilized for troops in the Afghanistan Theater of Operation.

                                              "

"Too often, soldiers on patrol passed an older man walking hand-in-hand with a pretty young boy.

Their behavior suggested he was not the boy's father.

Then, British soldiers found that young Afghan men were actually trying to 'touch and fondle them.'

For centuries, Afghan men have taken boys, roughly 9 to 15 years old, as lovers.

Some research suggests that half the Pashtun tribal members in Kandahar and other southern towns are bacha baz, the term for an older man with a boy lover.

                                              Literally it means 'boy player.'

The men like to boast about it."

Sounds like the same crap PROPAGANDA they used on Native Americans, they called them "savages", but in truth the hypocrites are the true savages. Don't believe everything you read before you hate people to the level that you want to hurt them ! Study their language and deal with them as equals and friends and you will see that western media particularly British which represents the Bank of Englland wants to fill your minds and hearts with pure crap so that they can consolidate power. The young Afghans genuinely care about their elders and assist them in spiritual loving and descent ways ! Unlike the west where the family structures are being destroyed as part of pure capitalism, divide and conquer so that the children and parents even end up hating one another ! The Afghans used to be the most hospitable people on this planet, I only hope they can be able to restore that positive quality but I understand if they don't, since history has taught us that kindness is paid back with slaughter ! Go home soldier and tend to yourself and your own family ! Jesus said give "Caesars what is Caesars", he did not say to go join caesar, or go join the Roman army !

Since I'm not a member of the PC lemmings, I will make this statement/question; "Now do you understand why Michael Jackson moved to Bahrain, a Muslim country?" Of course, I'm speculating.

Haha now ur making me laugh Zheng He ! Are you truly a "he" ? Michael Jackson was living in California, where by the way he was murdered. You see his songs were of a moral nature that showed solidarity with the poor, unlike their dear so called "Madonna", no lady whatsoever if you catch my drift, did not fit well with the agenda of the New World maniacs.

Yes, Mr. Pinetree, he died in California. Before that, he quickly moved to Barhain when the heat was on & where his "alledged" behavior would be considered normal & he and his friends on the prowl could high-5 each other after each conquest. Of course, that's just pure speculation on my part & probably on the part of the family he bought off with $15 million dollars after "alledgedly " inappropriate behavior with their son. Just speculation of course.

"So why Bahrain? Blame Jermaine, who is a friend of the son of the ruler of Bahrain. Jermaine must have impressed on his brother that he could get himself some private acreage and recharge in Bahrain.

Abdullah Hamad Al Khalifa did him one better. He lavished dollars and attention on Jackson, called him "my brother," and told media outlets that he had formed "a close personal relationship" with the star. No word from Sheikh Dad if he approved, though he must have. Jermaine, after all, had converted to Islam in 2001 after a visit to Saudi Arabia. The sheikh must've thought he could go two for two with the Jacksons, if not an eventual grand slam. Raised a Jehovah's Witness, The closest Jackson got to Islam until then was through his dalliances with the Nation of Islam. (The sheikh got his wish, belatedly: in November 2008, British papers reported that, on something of a whim, Jackson converted to Islam and changed his name to the Arabic sounding Mikhaeel.)
In September 2005, Mohammed Bin Sulayem, the United Arab Emirates' champion rally driver, took Jackson on sightseeing and real estate tours of the Emirates, with Abdullah in the backseat, probably to remind Jackson that his heart, left neither in Los Angeles nor San Francisco, was not in Bahrain, not the Emirates. Hadn't Abdullah given Jackson $300,000 for a "motivational guru"? (Abdullah, it should be noted, is an aspiring song-writer, and thought he and Jackson could cut a few albums together.)"

Uhh Huh.................Your knowledge and sources of information are pure crap. Nothing more........nothing less. I can tell for a fact that YOU have not read the actuall court transcripts and or ruling. Also I doubt that you have the benefit of having a Mom that's a former Lawyer turned Psychologist and before moving to this state my Grandpa was a Judge before retiring. Both explained things in detail. The police evidence vs. the kid's descriptive testimony alone screamed B.S. ...... the Arviso's were looking for easy money plain and simple.

The sheer amount of propaganda, bias, distortion and misinformation is almost beyond comprehension. Reading the court transcripts and comparing them to the newspaper cuttings, the trial that was relayed to us didn’t even resemble the trial that was going on inside the courtroom. The transcripts show an endless parade of seedy prosecution witnesses perjuring themselves on an almost hourly basis and crumbling under cross examination. The newspaper cuttings and the TV news clips detail day after day of heinous accusations and lurid innuendo."

They should take Sgt. Mazen Alotaibi to the top of the building and throw him off. Let the parents and boy watch if they want. Sorry I have no patience with people that hurt children.
