Clarence Newcomb, 25, was arrested early Friday after telling police that he killed his 82-year-old grandmother.
A 25-year-old New York man was arrested Friday after he told police that he killed his grandmother following a debate over what to watch on TV.
Clarence Newcomb, 25, called 911 at 4:35 a.m. Friday. Arriving at the home in Kings Park, on Long Island, where the two have lived for years, police found 82-year-old Kathleen Newcomb lying dead in the living room.
Clarence Newcomb told police that he physically assaulted her and did not use a weapon.
He has lived with his grandmother since he was 3, according to a police spokesman. There was no history of domestic violence, the spokesman said.
As for the shows that sparked the argument, police don’t know.
Clarence Newcomb was supposed to be charged by the district attorney on Friday, although that was delayed when he was sent to the hospital with several health concerns, according to the police spokesman.

Looks to me like the typical welfare liberal. Anyone else would have been WORKING, and living on their own instead of mooching off grandma. Evidently there was not a gun involved or this would have been an MSNBC lead story with 2,000 liberal fanatics screaming for gun bans!

Doesn't anyone ever get tired of hearing or reading about crap like this? Every "news" story or program leads with the most salacious or heinous murder of the day. Then you get a mix of comments that typically devolve into the same tired old arguments as yesterdays comments over yesterdays murder(s). Show us the worst in people so we feel better about showing the worst in ourselves as we point the fingers.
Ban and confiscate all grandchildren! They are deadly and a menace to society. This grandchild killed his grandmother, so we must do away with all of them. They are all lethal weapons. I say we put together a panel of top progressive politicians to see how we can rid our culture of evil, lethal grandchildren!! We must hurry before another grandmother is killed!

This young man, several days ago, began to have tremendous headaches, and said there was a buzzing sound in his ears. The buzzing was so bad he had to have earplugs, and he disconnected the smoke alarms because he said he could hear them buzzing.
He was very protective of his grandmother, had friends of many years standing, was very gentle and loving. The headaches were increasing in intensity.
He may have tumor that caused his personality to snap. I really hope there is follow up to this, but since a gun is not involved it will probably die out.
You know, Mimi, I enjoy your posts. Odds are there will be medical follow-up, as even this thin article indicates he is having medical issues prior to custody.

This is what America is coming to folks. With all of the obsessions and addictions to TV, video games, cellphones, texting. It wasn't too long ago I read of a teen who killed his mom because she took his cellphone away for disciplinary reasons. No guns were used here. But when you throw guns into this mix it'll only get worse. Just when will parents start doing something about what all this crap, along with peer pressure, is doing to their children. Or do parents even care anymore. After all... I see them all the time playing with their stupid phone all over town, while their children stand or sit there being ignored. Raise'em right or don't have'em.
Let's get the Federal Government in on this. I believe it's very clear what congress needs to do. The White House needs to start a petition that people shouldn't be allowed to use their hands as weapons. Then outlaw making your hands into fists and no arms longer than 18".
