Florida police: Man posing as doctor gave silicone injections, sealed with Krazy Glue

A Florida man is facing charges of unlicensed practice of health care causing serious bodily harm after he injected silicone into at least two patients' buttocks at a motel room, according to a Palm Beach Sheriff's Office arrest report obtained Wednesday.

Calvin Edward Butler, 44, also known as Tamieka Butler, performed the injections at El Patio Motel dating back to June 2012, the report said.

The first alleged victim, a woman, told detectives in December that she received injections from Butler at the motel four times between September and October, the report said.

The victim said she would disrobe from the waist down and Butler would use a felt tip pen to mark areas on her buttocks where Butler felt she "needed fullness," according to the report.

With the victim lying down, Butler would pour out a clear liquid from a Pedialyte bottle, telling the woman it was sterile silicone, the report said. After pouring the liquid into a plastic cup, he filled syringes from the cup which he used to inject into the woman's buttocks, the report said.

Once the injections were complete, Butler would clean any blood or fluid from the skin and use Krazy Glue on the incisions, the report said. The woman was charged $200 per injection session.

Butler first told the woman he received the silicone from a nurse at Florida Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, then told her he bought it from a woman named Debra who is well known for silicone injections in the Miami area, the report said.

After the woman's last injection procedure, she began to feel painful nodules at the injection sites and she contacted Butler. Butler told her to take warm baths and massage the nodules and the symptoms would subside, the report said.

But the woman soon began to suffer from several open and oozing wounds, fevers and swollen lymph nodes, and went to the emergency room at JFK Hospital in Atlantis for treatment, the report said.

The woman was given antibiotics and discharged but was later readmitted with Lymphadentitis, a swelling of the lymph nodes due to bacterial infection. She still hasn't fully recovered, suffers from chronic pain and a chronic cough, and is now disfigured, the report said.

She also had been breast feeding when the infection occurred but her baby daughter hasn't suffered any health complications, the report said.

The second victim, a man, said he had received weekly injections from Butler between June and October 2012 at the motel, the report said. The injections were administered in the same manner as the woman, though Butler charged only $100 per session, giving a discount price since they were old friends, the report said.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office

Calvin Edward Butler, who also goes by the name Tamieka Butler, faces charges of unlicensed practice of health care causing serious bodily harm.

Butler told the man he had several strippers as patients who were charged $400 per visit, the report said.

When the man began developing open sores at the injection sites and contacted Butler, Butler told him to toughen up and gave him oral antibiotics, the report said.

The sores increased in size and the man was admitted to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center in November with a severe infection. Doctors performed surgery on the man's buttocks and found cultures with MRSA and other bacteria infections, the report said.

As the man was recovering at the hospital, Butler paid him an unannounced visit in December, arriving dressed as a woman with a wig and fur coat and several large pieces of jewelry, the report said.

When the man asked Butler what he was doing there, Butler responded, You need to remember who the bi--- in charge is," the report said. Butler also said he was angry the man has sought medical attention, the report said.

Butler was being held on $15,000 bond Wednesday, and it was unknown whether he has an attorney.

The incident is just the latest in a series of arrests in South Florida for illegal buttocks injections. Just last month, a Hialeah couple was arrested after police say they performed a botched buttocks-enhancing procedure on a woman.

In 2011, a Miami Gardens woman, Oneal Ron Morris, was arrested for allegedly injecting patients with cement, Fix-a-Flat and other substances in their buttocks.

While this fake "doctor" and others like him are criminal scumbags, I have a hard time working up much sympathy for the idiots who go in for this kind of thing in the first place.

Not sure what attraction some people see when they get butt injections. Have you ever seen some of these people? How 'bout the ones that get but implants and it looks like they had a freakin 5lb bag of sugar sewn under each one of their butt cheeks...

Totally ridiculous man....

Couldn't agree with you more. You have to be a special kind of stupid to have someone perform a medical procedure on you in a hotel room. It's a shame the people are putting their lives on the line for vanity - especially the woman with an infant daughter. She's lucky she didn't orphan her kid.

you have to be a complete idiot to get LEGIT butt implants, ala Nicki Minaj.

it just looks stupid, end of story - I cant grasp how that "trend" ever got started to begin with.

but you have to be a special kind of stupid to have something like this done in a motel room.

the "victims" (and i use that term loosely) should get nothing but a big ol hospital bill from all this.

and that woman should have her child taken away, clearly she lacks the good judgement and smarts that SHOULD be required to raise a child.

The "Dr." should be set to jail... and the patient too! She, the patient, should not be allowed to push charges or collect damages, if she is so idiotic as to believe that a sterile procedure can be performed in a hotel room using plastic cups.

The patient survived, though not a contender for the Darwin Awards.

I really sympathize with these patients. Now that I've read the article several times, I'm only just now seeing one or two red flags, but they are so small, it's no wonder the patients overlooked them. I mean, I've always had my surgeries performed in hotel rooms and when he mentioned "Debra" as his silicone supplier, well, everyone knows Debra and, if anything, that comment could have only instilled confidence. Even his advice was spot on - especially to the male victim - "Toughen up!"

Finally, given that he was practicing in Florida where things like this NEVER happen, as much as I sympathize for the patients, I just don't see how a court can convict the fellow. A conundrum indeed...

At least they weren't killed. At least 50,000 people die each year in the U.S. from infections they catch IN THE HOSPITAL due to improper sterilization of catheters and other equipment. An untold number of individuals are addicted to opioid painkillers and completely debilitated because their physician thought that was the easiest way to treat their chronic pain. The frequency of serious iatrogenic conditions in this country is really unbelievable, and there are probably many treatments given today that will be later discovered to do great harm to individuals. Fake doc or real doc, there are risks with any intervention -- if you can live your life well without it, please try to do so.

All the people involved deserve each other!

Anyone who cannot use there own brain to figure out that this whole fad is a joke to begin with and it could cost them their life in the end. (no pun intended!)

Where do they come up with these so called good ideas? Did any of these people ever finish let alone pay any attention when in school? Do any of these people know the definition of "common sense"? Are these people related to one another by some rare chance?

I pray that none of these people involved owns a gun, my god the problems that could follow from that.

I will never be able to understand why anyone would want something like this done to there own body from anyone other than a full blown doctor of medicine that is licensed in that field. I will never also understand why anyone would even do this to themselves in the first place, if they have made it this far in life with no major problems with there own body just go with it as if it ain't broken don't fix it! Its that simple people.

Stupid is as a stupid does. You just can't make this sh!t up.

All of the people involved should seek psychiatric help as they could put someones kid through college with problems like this.

So much stupidity, so little time.

To be quick about it, if you are going to a motel room for "treatments", that should be your first clue.

If your "dr" is pouring crap they are going to inject into your body from a pedialyte bottle, next clue.

If you are told they normal charge their stripper clients double what you are getting charged for...wow, another clue amongst the hundreds of them.

When will people in this country get off of the train of having other have to think for them, use your own head, use some damned common sense and THINK. There should be no compensation for being too lazy to think, and the perp should have to be treated with its own treatments if it really is guilty.

If it's good enough to hold a beverage for my kids, it's certainly good enough to be injected into me. Nope, not seeing red flag here either...

Do you know how much strippers make?! $400 for butt injections is nothing for them. I would have been honored with the discount and spent what I saved on picking up strippers with my new looks!

"Krazy Glue" actually was first made to be used in medical procedures before it became a household item. My mother back in the early '80 had it injected into her main artery to close off brain aneurisms. That wasn't his problem...I'm thinking the whole "silicone" injection was the problem...sick people!

Don't be ridiculous. If you think this idiot in the hotel room was a doctor, you'd probably be one of the ones served.

Other than the stupidity of having surgery performed in a hotel room and thinking it would turn out well, using "Crazy Glue" is not a big deal. Cyanoacrylate adhesives (crazy Glue, Super Glue, etc...) have been used for bonding skin since at least the 1960's and is considered superior to stitches in many situations. When all of my female cats were spayed, their outer incision were glued back together and not stitched. And if its good enough for my cats, its good enough for anyone that would get injected from a plastic cup in a motel room.

BTW, people. Once a fluid is poured into a plastic cup, you should probably no longer consider it "sterile"...

My daughter's chin was glued back together after a nasty gash. Healed up without stitches and almost no scar. It wasn't Krazy Glue out of the tube, though. It was sterile, sealed and a one-shot dose.

Mitch McConnel must have had this procedure done by the same person- Mitchs face looks like its been injected with almost as much bs as he spews forth when talking.

Washington (CNN)President Barack Obama says that federal law enforcement agencies have "bigger fish to fry" than prosecuting marijuana users in Colorado and Washington, which voted in November to legalize the recreational use of marijuana.

Obama made explicit in an interview to air Friday on ABC News that prosecution of marijuana users in the two states would be placed low on his Justice Department's list of law enforcement priorities, but that certain issues must still be ironed out as more states could pass similar legislation

I SAY , FIRE OBAMA FOR NOT FOLLOWING THE FEDERAL LAWS ON MARIJUANA.

Oh, yeah, locking up pot smokers. That's what the President should be focused on.

That does bring up a very pleasent image, however: Imagine an America where one of the President's top priorities is people smoking pot in Washington & Colorado. What a wonderful country we'd have if that's what we had to worry about.

At what point do you realize it's a scam and not a legit doctor... when he pours goop out of a Pedialyte bottle, when the goop is syringed out of a red Dixie cup, or when he puts your ass back together with wacky glue?

Seriously, everyone involved in this case has a few tools missing from the shed.

Unfortunately, unless the killed themselves or eliminated their methods of procreation they are ineligible for the award.

Is this story serious? I mean who in their own right mind would go to a motel room to get buttocks filling material? This has to be some made up story because nobody would be that stupid, right? Just when I thought I have read the stupidest story of the day, this one gets a headline. Personally it is hard to feel sorry for anyone that undergoes this type of procedure that is not in a medical facility. What in the world are people smoking, drinking, and thinking nowdays? Yesterday some kindergartener had to go through a psyciatric evaluation for talking about bringing a bubble blowing gun to school and she got suspended for 10 days. Now if a kindergartener has to go through a head shrink then the people that have these procedures done on them in motel rooms definitely need a psyciatric evaluation.
