A podiatrist accused of secretly recording community college wrestlers in a men's locker room may have dozens of other victims, authorities say.
Ninos Jando, 34, from Skokie, Illinois, was arraigned Wednesday in Michigan on three counts of capturing or distributing an image of an unclothed person. Court documents list three male victims in the case.
But authorities say what Jando was doing in that Michigan locker room was not an isolated event. There are reportedly dozens of videos of naked young men that were shot in dozens of locker rooms over nearly a dozen years.
"These images could be worldwide and affect these innocent victims for the rest of their lives," said prosecutor Timothy Maat.
So far, none of the victims reviewed by authorities appear to be underage, but they said there is still a lot of material to go through.

Inside the doctor's car following his arrest Tuesday, police said they found six toiletry bags, eight cameras, three cell phones, a computer hard drive, a laptop computer and membership cards under several different names that gave him access to a variety of health clubs.
Investigators said they hope a GPS unit found inside the car will provide information as to where else Jando has been.
Jando has been arrested an accused of similar crimes in the Chicago area. At a St. Charles Xsport Fitness Center in 2009, an undercover police officer thought Jando was acting suspiciously in the locker room. A search at that time by St. Charles police uncovered 21 videos spanning six years, officials said.
No one could be reached for comment at the Jando family home in Skokie Wednesday night. The doctor has a published office address at Mobile Doctors on North Elston Avenue, and records indicate he's on the staff at Norwegian American Hospital on North Francisco. He also has a current Illinois license to practice podiatry.
Jando was ordered held on $200,000 bond. If he bails out, the judge has forbid him from leaving Michigan's Muskegon County.

For all you unlearned commentors above, what the dr. is accused of doing is blatantly and clearly against the laws. Moreover, it seems to be a pattern in his criminal conduct inasmuch as he has had similar charges in the past against him in other localities. Think of it this way: the Dr. may be using the pictures of those unsuspecting locker room guys to sell to websites, promoting that these men are all homosexuals (even though none were homos) who like displaying their bodies and did so willingly for the dr. So, wouldn't all of you above feel violated and outraged if you were in any of those pictures or videos?

There was nothing in the report that suggested the man identified himself as gay. As the article stated there is still a lot of evidence to go threw. They may find women on some of those tapes we don't know yet.
This is a sick person none the less. He probably makes a boat load more money selling the images on the net than in his practice. Which speaks more to the motive than his sexual orientation.
I see how easily it is for people to want to lay this on the doorstep of some gay or queer, but that is not a fact reported as of yet.

I think it's a little different for men, tho - I am the only female working for a company with around 20-30 men (depending on the time of year) in the construction business! lol That in itself is hard enough some days without having all of them see me naked!! Did an undercover police officer just happen to be in the locker room or was he following him ? What alerted them to him ? The computer images ? Why did he have 3 cell phones ?

But I will say - it's an invasion of privacy, otherwise I would not care, either. It's just nakedness. People used to be freer at events like the Rainbow Gathering and the Burning Man, but when video cameras and smartphones came along, people started uploading videos and then commenters would call the naked women "sluts." Why are they "sluts"? Are all of those models posing on the covers of European magazines also "sluts"?
So, for me, it's the attitude of the videographer, plus his deception, that is disturbing. If people had a healthy regard for going au naturel, then I would not care, either.

Agreed. A 2 year post-graduate study cannot quality you as a doctor, same goes for optometrists. And, don't forget, they don't have to do residency either. I have so many patients with cataracts upon simple eye exam. When I mentioned to them that they have cataracts, they all tell me that they just got new pair of glasses from their eye doctors and their eye doctors didn't mention anything of cataracts. I always tell them it's because an optometrist can only sell eyeglasses, they can't do anything about cataracts. Then I have to explain to them the difference between an optometrist and an ophthalmologist (about 8 more years of training and salary difference of 200k + a year).
Ummm... what??? Do you know *anything* about podiatry? They don't massage your feet for a living, you know. If you ever need surgery on your foot or ankle, you'd better hope that podiatrist is as well-trained as any other surgeon, or you'll never walk again!

Agreed...podiatrists and chiropractors are NOT doctors... in the conventional sense anyway. As someone who went to medical school and residency myself, I kind of take offense to the use of that term with these professions, because I think it's misleading to the general public. I don't disagree that they are professionals in their area and that their expertise in these areas is solid, but they're not "doctors". Of course I realize that there are also some people out there who don't think D.O's are doctors, but as an M.D. I have absolutely no problem at all with D.O.'s.
Of course, would the article have grabbed as much attention if the title said "Podiatrist accused of hiding camera in college locker room"? Hmm...I wonder.
Based on what evidence? How was their medical school and residency any less valid than yours?

Well, I thought about that many time when I used to take my wife to hotel room. I always wonder if they had camara. I am a firm believer in having camaras in all the room and have someone moniter the camaras simply because in the case of an incident or a murder in a hotel room or even a murder in the houses, that can be used as evidence, and especially for people living by themselves. My mom would tell me that are alot of elderlies whom no one goes and visit and many instant some of them have fell in the house and no one new until the next day when friend missed him or her and went to check for him or her. Creekdog is correct is correct, so I am being filmed naked, that's like going to a nudist beach naked. Its natural having sex, that is different. In my idea with the camaras, I believe when the couple goes into the bedroom than you stop filming but their is a risk their. What about if some weird act occur where there is a killing, than turning off the camara would be a bad idea. In this case, well he went overboard by distributing and making money of it if their is no consent with the person being filmed.
That's REALLY creepy. No, there are not cameras watching us in hotel rooms, unless they are put there by criminals. Seriously, do you WANT to live in the book "1984"? It's bad enough to have cameras everywhere in public, but in hotel rooms? No way! It is illegal to film a person naked or in their underwear without their consent, and it should be! It's fine if it doesn't bother YOU to be filmed naked, but that's not the point. You are not everyone else.

Now a question and a comment that is not related to the gym video but to professional folks: Not to say everybody in these professions are like this at all but why do people think that doctors and other health professionals (dentists, nurses etc.) are immune from 'perversity' (for lack of better word)?
They are still humans with faults and no amount of professional integrity and oaths will stop them from being who they are. Never assume that a person's profession is a safeguard. No doubt, for some, it may have been a way to carry out their sickness--access to more victims.
Went to an FBI/police conference once and psychiatrist speaking there basically said not to be surprised at the pathology in these types of professions. Again, be observant, know your rights and go with your instincts to keep yourself safe, and your kids safe.
