Phoenix office shooting suspect found dead

The suspect in Wednesday’s Arizona office shooting has been found dead, according to Phoenix police.

A body matching the description of suspect Arthur Douglas Harmon, 70, was located near a Mesa, Ariz. parking lot on Thursday, Mesa police reported. A Kia Optima authorities say Harmon may have been driving was also found in the parking lot.

The person found on Thursday died of a gunshot wound, apparently self-inflicted, police said earlier on Thursday.

Police went on the hunt for Harmon on Wednesday after a gunman, later identified by authorities as Harmon, opened fire in an Arizona office building, killing one person and wounding two more.

Harmon had been involved in a legal mediation session at the office building before the shooting, police said on Wednesday.

“He was involved in some type of litigation meeting,” Phoenix Police Sergeant Tommy Thompson said at a news conference on Wednesday. “After that meeting, he got into an altercation with some of the individuals and actually shot two of those individuals.”

The man killed Wednesday has been identified by police as Steve Singer, 48. A 43-year-old man was injured and remains in critical condition. A 32-year-old woman was also shot, but her injuries were not life threatening, authorities said.

They just want to be the first with the story. Content and grammar mean nothing to them.

    Dear Op,

That single sentence you wrote contains nine grammatical mistakes which exceeds the number of words employed. If your intent was to demonstrate hypocrisy then you have done so quite well, good sir.

American suicide-by-gun tally is now 50% +1. Or is it 2?

They think he may possible be found dead? One good way is to check for a pulse. Another, is he breathing?

Don't think all the gun rule changes would have prevented this. My God we live in a violent world! May God Bless the families and let this stuff please end! The little girl in Chicago just another example of the world gone wrong. Maybe if we could get the kids working in the area this crap would stop. I just don't know what to do as a citizen. Hate doesn't work. God Bless the families the cops protecting us and the firemen who come into contact with danger each day!

See what nuts do with guns in their hands?

As long as Americans think that it's all right to kill, because: the guy pissed you off, because you dislike his face, he stepped on your lawn, looked at you wrongly - then they're doomed. Need I go on?

Every single incident that has occurred since December goes on the same tangent. Killing for any of the above, IS KILLING FOR SPORT as far as I'm concerned.

So you maintain it's a god-given right to own guns - why don't you start thinking about the rights of the victims instead?? - They all had a RIGHT TO LIFE.

Quebec Canada, Thank god you are in Quebec. Please stay there because you will meet your final end at the point of those antlers from a big moose or claws of big bear. In the story they were talking about possible lunatics using guns to kill. 99.9% of normal Americans never use their guns to kill anyone, it is only the criminals and the insane. It is not the gun it is the person that pulls the trigger on the gun, silly you Canadian!! Hey!!!!!

280,000,000 guns. .001 used by a legal citizen to settle a beef. 280,000 incidents. Not quite the number Quebec is looking for. Suspecting he'll be staying. we have to do at least 4 9's (that's .9999 don't use a gun to kill anyone).

This suspect thought this through, except perhaps the end. Without the firearm handy, probably in the bedroom closet available to the grandkids, it would have ended in a comic tussle. It is the gun that kills, friend. Just try it out. Put a loaded firearm in the hands of anyone, and it changes the psyche. Colt didn't call it the Peacemaker for nothing. The NRA isn't the National People who Use Guns Association, it's the National Rifle (rifle, see?) Association. Guns are people. Message clear enough for yuh?

99.9 % of 280,000,000 guns results in 280,000 guns used to kill somebody. How about 99.99%?

Guns kill. An angry person like this within touch of a firearm has a choice, if they use it they often kill, if they don't choose it they don't kill. The gun is the factor in the result. The NRA is the National Rifle Association, not the National Gun Owner's Association, they vote for guns, guns, to paraphrase our blessed Mitt, are people. Guns kill. Their presence implies threat. They carry, in themselves, unique consequences.
