An aerial view of the scene in Chicago where a woman driving a van was shot dead.
A Chicago woman was shot and killed Friday morning while driving her van on the ramp from Lake Shore Drive to Interstate 55.
Illinois State Police said a 32-year-old woman and a 37-year-old female passenger were driving a white Dodge van south on Lake Shore Drive around 4:20 a.m. when the shooting occurred.
A brown, full-size van pulled alongside them as they entered the ramp to I-55 and someone opened fire with 10 to 14 rounds, shooting the driver, police said. The woman's van then crashed into the median. She was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

The other woman was not injured and was taken into police custody for questioning. She is not considered a suspect.
Police said the shooting was related to gang and drug activity and was not random.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Police are still looking for the shooter, and the shooting remains under investigation.

The time has come for sane median control! No more steel-reinforced concretre! Roads were meant to be on the Earth, not raised. I don't see why anyone would complain if this were a cobblestone or dirt road as the Founding Fathers intended.

So now every time there is a shooting somewhere in the country it is going to make national news? Why not just designate a new section for it. US & World, Business, Weather, Sports, Shootings, ...
I am sure that is coming soon on MSNBC or any of the other lib news agencies... They have ordered their staff to go out and look for every single possible shooting so they can run it on the main news every minute hour or day, that way they can try and convince the useful idiots that it is only started happening since obama got re elected and he wants a so called assault weapons ban.

That is a complete falsehood. Those statistics are 20 years old and from a study that only included 251 surveyed individuals. Hardly a valid sampling in 1994 when the study was published and even less valid now as the NICS background check system is in place where in 1994 it was not.

The Department of Justice report was was based on 2568 phone interviews. It has a standard deviation of 1.4%. So the correct answer is from 38.6% to 41.4% of all gun sales have no background check.

Jersey Michael you are reading that wrong... That is just their base sampling, not the number of actual completed interviews. If you look at the fine print it states that they only received a ~45% response rate. Additional information on purchase source was only taken from 251 of the respondents. Either way it doesn't matter is THIS IS 20 YEAR OLD DATA.
This is Chicago with the toughest gun laws in the nation. Only the Democrat Drug Gangs have guns. Obama, Emanuel, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton all support the Black gangs! NONE of these POLS have shut down the killers. Democrat campaign contributions from the gangs are critical to allow Illinois Democrats to continue to bankrupt the state! Obama is the top politician for the city with a massive murder rate and massive child shooting rate. Obama is the top politician for the state that is ranked last by Moody for fiscal competence. Obama is a DUD who should be impeached!
The gangs are probably sparking this under the direction of Rahm and Stinky (bo). They're on the administrations side that law abiding people have no business owning guns. Gang members sure don't want to deal with return fire from civilians.

It is like you collect antique cars and I decide we are no longer going to allow that so I ban all of the stuff you like to collect, no more parts for your cars, no more cars, anytime we get one we destroy it, that is taking them away because sooner or later you antique car is going to need something or it will not work and since you can no longer buy the stuff you need your car is now worthless and cannot be used, so it was taken away from you!!!!!
If you read the goals of the proposal they even admit it is to slowly take the so called assault weapons away as they run out of parts and supplies they will disappear, that is the goal, to TAKE THEM AWAY!
You have to look at the list of so called assault weapons they want to ban, there are more than 160 of them that they want out right banned!!!! Not to mention the banning of magazines so that even most pistols will need to be remodeled, some of the stuff they are pushing will make a 22 illegal if it has a piece of plastic on it....
Mayor Rahm Emanuel needs to declare Martial Law and mandatory evacuation of all non-felons. The National Guard can then close off all entrances and exits. The felons can either turn themselves in or be caught and/or neutralized by a street by street and block by block clearing--much like a severe pest infestation of rodents being removed. The Chicago Police Department can't handle the amount of crime! Call in the Guard! Chicagoans, insist that something drastic is done to get your city under control!
Great idea!! The non-felons can hop into a Prius or Volt and head on out. Do any decent people live there anymore? Isn't it Rahm, the CTU, and the gangs who live there now?

So why is this a story? If this woman was involved in drugs and gangs, well, didn't she know that there was a good probability that this could be her fate? She made the choices in her life. She probably got what she deserved. How many other lives did she shorten or end? But that story will never be reported.

Right. It still does not say SHE was involve in gangs or drugs. Perhaps it was her passenger, or a family member, or mistaken identity.

I just love how the liberal media has to make sure how many rounds were (supposedly) fired in the headline and then again in the story to make sure we all knew how many were fired. Could it be because their fearless leader is pressing for a 10 round clip? Did they ever stop to think it could have been more than one gun??? Had it been one shot, maybe two, killed BOTH women and took out 56 cars? The the headline would have read "Two women dead in drug related car accident".
Am I the only one who thinks it is strange that the amount of shots supposedly fired fits right into the agenda of banning magazines?
How many shooters were there? maybe there were 10 - 14 shooters and each fired one round!!! Who knows, it is just as likely since no one was caught so they have no clue but, lets run with it any way and bring up the 10 to 14 rounds that were supposedly fired so it sound good for the anti gun agenda......
I don't know. To me, that the bad guys had at least 10 rounds in their magazine makes my argument for why I (a legal firearms owner and law abiding citizen) need more than 10 round magazines. I am NOT looking for an even playing field with someone who would try to hurt me or my family. My goal is overwhelming superiority in arms. Has worked well for the US since its founding. I tend to emulate that.
Ther anti-gun movement probably isn't aware that 10 round revolvers are available, so the gun used might not be on the proposed restriction list. Two guns 20 rounds. No "assault weapon" needed.
