Watch Now: Live streaming video of the Northeast blizzard

Updated at 9:34 p.m. ET:

As the blizzard works its menacing way across the Northeast, we'll be assembling links to and embeds of live video streams here.

Your best, most reliable bet for live online video coverage of the storm is going to be with our friends at Weather.com. They're going to be streaming through late Saturday night. Their player isn't embeddable, so click here for their coverage: Live blizzard video from Weather.com.

WHDH.com in Boston is streaming live storm coverage this weekend as well.

You'll also be able to see live streams periodically from our local partners at NBCNewYork.com and NBCConnecticut.com, and when we know one will be up we'll post it here.

Meanwhile, we're streaming a shot from the top of 30 Rockefeller Center here in New York:

LIVE VIDEO — Watch the winter storm roll into New York from our camera at the top of Rockefeller Plaza.

And a live look at Times Square in New York:

On UStream, technology news company IDG is streaming a webcam from high above Copley Square in Boston. It should be a good way to see a wide view of snow accumulating in Beantown, which may see record snowfall during this storm:

In Portland, Maine, NBC affiliate WCSH is streaming its “tower cam”:

And a look at snow at a train station and docks at Weirs Beach, N.H.:

We're constantly updating our main story on the blizzard, and you can also visit our video page for all of our on-demand coverage of the storm: Video on NBCNews.com.

I am so grateful we have modern technology to help the millions of people affected by this huge Northeastern clipper. Having studied American history, including disasters related to weather, I am not sure most people today realize the huge numbers of lives lost from early in the last century and before. We truly are blessed and take so much for granted. I pray no lives will be lost, as folks do all they can to get through this massive blizzard.

The proof the Vine is liberal because of all the conservatives who overwhelm with their short sighted views and hatred that come here. The more idiotic comments made and hatred shown the more you all show your colors. I only hope you all keep it up.

Excuse me, rednawt1 - but you speak of others making idiotic comments and having hatred -- yet you just attacked someone for no reason. You **do** see the irony and hypocrisy in this, don't you?? Why can't everyone behave like respectful adults and post in a pleasant manner?

I am sure you read many of the comments in the Vine. I commented on another further down:

that would be great . 1 earth quake gets rid of a lot of libbies in one foul swoop . heaven on earth i say .

There were some before him I chose not to comment on but by the time I got to this comment, I had to respond. My response was :

rednawt1

...and there is my proof of my comment at 1.6. Cliff, you sir, are an idiot for making that comment. What, you don't think there are conservatives in California as well?

  • !

#6.8 - Fri Feb 8, 2013 8:15 PM EST

And that was a minor comment Cliff made next to so many others I have read from the conservative bunch on many other subjects. I am not saying man progressives aren't as idiotic in comments they make, just most are not so far off the "cliff". If you open your mind and eyes, you would see what I mean by this.

What in the name of all that's good do these comments have to do with the weather; following Sandy for some, some having not seen this type of accumulations in this short time frame for some time, the mix of freezing rain, snow, and all else?

Little minded libbies and con artist conservatives can go play elsewhere.

Ridiculous.

I'm in the outskirts of all this, and am only seeing some so not too bad. Glad the work week is done, though.... could change any time. Speaking for my area in Ohio, it's been crazy... literally, one day had been 64 and the next 9 above; severe rain storm to the point of driving 30 in a 65 and the next day whiteout conditions, drifts on all streets..... guess I'm just waiting for the extremes to pass and yes, I do enjoy a good ole' fashioned snowy winter. Just prefer consistency as my bones are aging!

I agree with Windancersong-1494878. There are so many aspects of 21st Century technology to be grateful for. The ability of our weather services to accurately forecast weather, particularly bad weather, is very beneficial in protecting our citizens. The clothing available to us today is vastly better than it was a century or more ago. The equipment that has been developed we can use to get to those in trouble has improved as well.

Hunkered down with plenty of supplies (beer), back-up generator filled (with beer), shovels at the ready (in case we need to go out for more beer) so just waiting to be sent home from work, so we can pick up a couple more six packs and a bag or two of pretzels on the way home. All will be fine. Thank you weather people for the scare tactics so we had plenty of time to prepare (per my family in New England). (FYI, I'm being sarcastic.)

One thing is for certain and it's being proven over and over and over.

Wherever Satan is seated and wherever his highest in command are located, along with his followers.

Catastrophy, death and unspeakable weather will happen often, because the nature of the Beast draws Gods wrath and the people there, well they suffer.

Don't shoot the messenger. I didn't write it. I wasn't around 2000 years ago that I can recall.

Yup, it's winter. Reporting here over the border from south metropolitan Boston. Time is 3:00 am. Just completed shoveling half of my lengthy opened second floor rear porch. I don't want it to collapse. Two feet of snow and three foot drifts so far. Windy but not that cold. About 30 degrees. Electricity is still on and the heat is cranking just in case. Got a generator, but what about the neighbors, they'll hate me if I don't share. Just finished some cheez-its and ready for bed. In the morning I'll finish the porch and start up the snowthrower and do the driveway. A neighbor across the street went on a cruise and asked me in case it snows could snowthrow their driveway so they can park when they return, damn!

Goodnight

@ john-57378 Thanks for the 'Newsflash' . Your powers of observation are incredible. What's your secret to your exclusive knowedge? Perhaps a 'Eyes Only Security Clearance' or simply a calendar stating the dates winter starts and ends.

I have lived in mid and northern VT and have been through countless Nor'easters.

Windancersong-149878 was making a quite accurate observation of how lucky we are to have the benefits of modern technology in this situation which happens to apply to hurricanes, tornados, etc. as well.

Your sarcastic comment is nothing compared to other comments on similar articles about this Blizzard about to hit us.

Oh, john Newsflash tomorrow is only a day away...

Concerned about those Sandy victims. They have had enough. Hope all the people are able to be safe and get shelter. My God the poor homeless! Most of us have heat and are so lucky. Glad I live in this wonderful Country. God Bless American and you folks in the path of the storm!

wonder what they did 5 years ago...seems like ancient times since we had..weather....gee and since homelessness is a new concept....suddenly we care about them? yeah right

im am giving this post a hard time because its like suddenly we have become alive and worried about others....why does a homeless person have to be freezing and in your storms path before you give two cents about them??? why now suddenly as if the homeless didnt suffer until your storm was a national event...

PS the homeless have been freezing this time every year since the east came to existence...

That's it Super. I could never live in AZ..too hot for me.

I'll take a winter in New England over a summer down south any day.

As many days we get such as this..there's also the days when it's in the 50/60's. I can live with it.

Janine,

"I could never live in AZ..too hot for me."

I live in Arizona, too, and it's too hot for me as well. Any good weather we get to enjoy in the Winter we more than pay for when the flames of hell hit us in the Spring and Summer. I love the winter here, but hate the summers. Summer is when all the bugs come out, too: wasps, black widows, scorpions, etc.

There are conservatives in California, especially in Orange County in southern California. It's full of them, from what I've read.

Well, I just watched the footage from all of the weather-cams. New York appears to have fog and a little snow that melts as soon as it hits pavement. Portland Maine seems to have it the worst but still not bad. So what's all the whining about?

        Laura,

The camera shaking is from the wind gusts which have been recorded at over 65 mph. It sounds like a freight train is coming through here. I have snow drifts that have blocked me into the house...appr. 10 feet high. There is no way an emergency vehicle could make it down my street. The snow is being driven so hard that it's actually painful on your face. And yes, it's winter, but the last time I saw a storm like this, 29 people died. I hope this answers your "whining" comment.

Why is everyone so up in the air over this "blizzard"? It was reported that this "was going to be the worst ever". That seems to be about the norm for each winter storm that rolls that way. Didn't they have one of the "worst evers" after Sandy? And every winter you all get hit back there by a storm, why the major deal about this one? Media needs to change the subject or draw attention away from what Congress is NOT doing! And maybe odumbo can slip something past everyone while their all watching the "blizzard".

I do hope that everyone finds shelter, especially those still affected by Sandy. Unfortunately, the gov't works so slowly that I understand there are still a lot without what was promised.

Those homeless street people get what they want.....a place on the street. Out here, we can't seem to convince them to go to a shelter when the weather is freezing. They refuse. I'm sure the east coast homeless have the same mentality.

Interesting - In Times Square where it appears to be more like rain; all the cars have their lights on. In Portland Maine, Jersey Shore, NH and Boston where it IS snowing, nobody has their lights on.

The headlights may not make it any easier for the drivers to see but it does make a difference of being seen by other drivers in a snow storm.

        What's wrong with these people?

From reports I have heard, up to 42" with up to 100 mph winds. The worst should be seen overnight and into Sunday with the heaviest seeing up to 4"/hr. With those high winds, it could e next to impossible to keep even the main roads open. Stay safe people.
