Updated at 3:52 a.m. ET: Federal investigators were sifting through the wreckage Sunday of a helicopter crash at a well-known movie and TV production ranch that killed three people.

The 3:40 a.m. local time (6:40 a.m. ET) crash happened on the site of the Polsa Rosa Movie Ranch in Acton, Calif., on the northwestern edge of the Angeles National Forest about 30 miles north of Los Angeles.

The pilot and two passengers aboard the Bell 206 JetRanger died, officials said. Their identities were not immediately released.

A movie was reportedly being shot at the time, a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispater said. Signs for Bongo Productions were posted near the ranch, but officials could not confirm if that there was production under way during the crash.

The ranch is a movie, TV show and commercial location offered for rent to production companies. It has two airstrips and "miles of roads," according to its website.

It may be time to consider a ban on idiotic comparisons to sensible control.

Eh, that's A-C-T-O-N, not "Action". Minor detail, sloppy reporting.

gee, that's too bad. I always have helicopters following me around in real life, too. I hope they're taking this well. if not, there's always Tryopenin (tm) for immediate and sustained relief from anxiety.

three...two........... okay, we got 60 seconds, we can talk, hon.

They know it's "Acton." That's a typo. An error. You know, things "people" do when they're being rushed to get the news out. Too bad everyone isn't perfect. Three people died. It's not a joke.

Forgive me for saying this, but maybe it is time to take a break from the Reality shows. The town that they crashed in was called ACT on. Maybe it's time to make some room for the real actors, the real artists who are trained to influence and inspire their audience, in partnership with their screenplay writers and directors to create work of value, rather than indulge greedy producers who exploit nameless nobodies for profit and cheap, instant, meaningless "entertainment" aka mind drivel.

I guarantee they will say that Christopher Dorner AKA Chocolate Rambo did this.

They will then use it so they can kill the first US citizen by UAV drone on US soil

Of course they have already killed US citizens abroad with them, but you, being informed individuals surely know that(yeah right).

You heard it here first folks, remember this.

I will also be taking bets on how fast they kick my door down for calling their hand.

                    @Jimmy Russel.

Think you might have watch too many of Faux noise comedy and liar shows. Yes, we know drones have been used to kill people overseas, but not yet has that happend here, and I doubt if it does. And really, if you want to know the truth, I hope they kick your door down sooner rather than later.

It seems like you have a low informed view of things going on. Probably have CDS and ODS, right? Just asking...

Paranoia is a symptom of mental illness and the NRA is in favor of keeping guns out of the hands of the mentally ill.

So tired of turning on the tv and yet another reality show...how about showing reruns of fun shows like Odd Couple...Emergency...loving the Cozi TV...watching Six Million Dollar Man...show is hysterical to watch now and i would much rather watch that and Bionic Woman and Magnum PI than another "Bachelor" or reality show about a hairsylist, etc., who cares.
