Darien, Conn., police via NBC Connecticut
Rob Morrison of WCBS-TV in New York faces charges of second-degree strangulation, second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct in an incident Sunday, Feb. 17, at his home in Darien, Conn.
Rob Morrison, an anchor for WCBS-TV in New York, was charged with attempting to strangle his wife after a weekend incident at their home in Connecticut, the station confirmed Monday.
Morrison, 44, of Darien, Conn., faces charges of second-degree strangulation, second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct in the incident early Sunday, the station reported. He is accused of attempting to choke his wife, Ashley Morrison, a reporter for CBS MoneyWatch. Ashley Morrison didn't need medical treatment, but she had red marks on her neck, police said.
Rob Morrison was free Monday on $100,000 bond and is due in court Tuesday, NBC Connecticut reported. WCBS said it would have no comment beyond its news report.

In a statement, the Morrisons said they were "cooperating fully with the authorities to insure that all of the information necessary to properly evaluate this unfortunate incident is made available. The Morrisons are confident that a full review of this matter will show that the allegations have been greatly exaggerated."
Before joining WCBS in 2009, Morrison was an anchor and reporter for NBC 4 of New York and had appeared on NBC News' "Weekend Today" and msnbc TV.

No one, of any profession or at any social strata, who attempts to strangle a another person -- and there is abundant evidence of that in this case -- should be free on bond of any amount. Period.

I am surprised that the socialist media is not hiding this story. It is one of there own, and they pick and choose what is news and what isn't. This guy was part of there propaganda machine.

I'm surprised. He's one of my favorite reporters including Darlene Rodriguez with whom he used to work together. I wish this was wrong or didn't happen. Let's see how it shakes out but I'm surprised and disappointed. No matter what happened, nobody has a right to put his hands on another person. Too much violence going on. I wish them well and I hope that he can get help or risk losing everything including his life. I hope his wife is o.k. and will stand up against violence and help others who might not survive these types of attacks.
I wonder if Darlene will call him to offer her support, after all, I believe she's still with her rapist husband who lost his job with the Police Dept a few years ago because of the incident.

Ya think maybe the media exaggerates things? I don't think so they would never do that lol. If ya don't know the whole story (and neither do I) and the media says it is true, don't always just assume its true. Sometimes a true story the media won't touch due to less ratings. Media is by far just like a television show except media can't be canceled if not enough ratings...
This guy has real problems he was accused of rapping a women in 2012 I think there were allegations of strangulation in that case as well. The charges were eventually dropped, I think or at least I never heard anything further about it. Talk about messed up - there is obviously a problem here.
