Police have identified a suspect in an early morning shooting and pileup that killed three people and injured at least six on Las Vegas' famous Strip Thursday, NBC affiliate KSNV reported.
Police are seeking Ammar Harris, 26, in the shooting and subsequent car crashes that occurred in a section of the Strip that includes Caesars Palace, Bally’s and the Bellagio.
The shooting came after the occupants of a black Range Rover and a Maserati got into an altercation in the valet area of the Aria hotel and casino, according to Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie.
“We have numerous witnesses to this,” Las Vegas Police Sgt. John Sheahan said. “But what is the genesis of this? We don’t know yet.”
The suspect was in the Range Rover, while 27-year-old aspiring rapper Kenny “Clutch” Cherry of Oakland, Calif., was at the wheel of the Maserati.
According to reports, the Range Rover pulled up and allegedly opened fire into the Maserati near a stoplight in the pre-dawn hours. A passenger was injured by the gunfire and Cherry was killed, causing the car to spin out of control. The careening silver Maserati smashed into a taxicab, trapping the passenger and driver and causing the cab to burst into flames; both occupants were killed, police said.
In a scene witnesses describe as looking like a Hollywood set, a confrontation between a group of men escalated into a shooting, multiple vehicle pileup, and an exploding taxicab. The incident left three people dead. NBC's Miguel Almaguer reports.
Then, the Maserati smashed into three other cars before coming to a stop.
The taxi driver was identified as Michael Boldon, 62, of Las Vegas. His passenger was Sandra Sutton-Wasmund, 48, of Maple Valley, Wash. She was a two-time breast cancer survivor. Both died of "multiple blunt force injuries," the coroner's office said.
All three deaths were classified as homicide.
Police released a photo that was taken when Harris was arrested last year on pandering, kidnapping, sexual assault and coercion charges, according to The Associated Press.
KSNV reported that police did not find Harris at his residence Saturday, but the black Range Rover was found just a few blocks away from the intersection where the violent incident occurred.
Police also said they found shell casings in Harris's apartment that linked him to Cherry's death.

The hip-hop, rap ''kultur'' is a fertile breeding ground for misogyny and overall violence. It was reported that more than a few of these ''musicians'' are convicted felons, many with a lengthy rap sheet. Not exactly role models who would voluntarily submit to a background check to legally purchase and carry firearms. MSNBC recently reported that another West Coast rapper wrecked his Rolls-Royce in another, unrelated drive-by.

Sure, especially in CA where they have perfected the art and can't afford $100K prison guards anymore. My personal opinion is that we have a few remote islands that could be penal colonies for less cost, but then that kinda sounds like 'devil's island.' a non-starter with the present administration. How about the islands off San Fransisco, surrounded by seal rookeries, cold water and white sharks? Maybe some day...
I for one am,my ex-wifes brother(convicted felon) did only one year and a half for shooting up our streets in Maine and trying to kill a person looking out his window(pretty stupid after hearing shots,he was fully in the window) and he came out cockier than when he went in. Back at it again,guess they didn't change his views in 1.5 years. He admitted owning the gun they found, there was no reason to reduce the mandatory five year sentence for possession of a firearm by a felon, never mind the attempted murder of the guy in the window. Here-in lies our REAL PROBLEM and refusing to deal with it will not decrease our "gun violence."

A woman who asked Joe Biden a question on gun control during an online debate said yesterday that she found the vice president's reply 'poor advice' and 'sexist.'
During the town hall on Tuesday Kate Ernest put to Biden: 'Do you believe that banning certain weapons and high capacity magazines will mean that law-abiding citizens will then become more of a target to criminals as we will have no way to sufficiently protect ourselves?'
Biden told Ernest to 'buy a shotgun', advice she felt was dismissive.
When Ernest asked the question, Biden laughed and said that he has told his wife, Jill Biden: 'Jill, if there’s ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony, put that double-barrel shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house.'
The vice president claimed that this would deter possible intruders and that homeowners don't need weapons like the AR-15 rifle.
'It’s harder to aim, it’s harder to use, and in fact you don’t need 30 rounds to protect yourself. Buy a shotgun,' Biden advised.
Ernest says that, hypothetically, once Biden's wife gone out into plain sight and fired these two shots, she would then be a 'sitting duck.'
The woman then added that the vice president's suggestion 'comes off a little sexist.'
'Like, "let me tell you what you need" versus, you know, "arm yourself or protect yourself in a way that you feel necessary,"' Ernest said.
As it happens, the vice president's advice could also land his wife behind bars. As reported by US News, in Delaware, where the Bidens live, it is illegal to fire a gun unless the situation is genuinely dangerous.

Sounds like this shooter is exactly what the above article was referencing a multiple felony loser that shouldn't have been on the streets and definitely was probably illegal for him to have a gun. But our liberal courts let them loose again and again until they finally kill.

Even Obama and Biden know their new gun restrictions will never pass. That's why a few weeks ago, Obama made a desperate attempt to drive a wedge between the NRA and its own membership, telling NRA members to write to their congressmen and let them know that the NRA doesn't represent their views. WTF? If the NRA didn't represent our views, why would we have joined in the first place? And yes, I am an NRA member. I never really saw the need for it before, but Obama's recent actions convinced me I needed to take a stand.
