Activity and assaults against federal agents patrolling the U.S. Mexico border have increased. Now, one field agent tells NBC 7 San Diego that agents from other parts of the country are being called in to help patrol.
Jerry Conlin with U.S. Border Patrol said the agency saw a 70 percent increase in assaults against U.S. Border Patrol agents last year over the previous year.
“In 2011 we actually recorded 77 assaults against our agents,” Conlin said. “Last year we had 133."
Just this week there have been two assaults on two agents patrolling in the San Diego region.
On Monday, a U.S. Border Patrol agent was struck twice in the face by a man intercepted near Otay Mountain. The suspect was eventually taken into custody and faces charges of assault on a federal agent.
Then Tuesday, about a mile west of the San Ysidro Port of Entry, an agent spotted four people jump the fence. When the agent arrested one of the men, the other three jumped back over the fence.
“As he was placing this individual under arrest, the three individuals started throwing rocks from south of the fence," Conlin said.
"Rock throwing is probably the most common form of assaults," he said.
While, rocks are the most common weapon, agents need only remember back to 2009 when Agent Robert Rosas was ambushed and shot to death near Campo by a group trying to steal his night vision goggles.
Conlin says a week with two separate assaults on agents is a reminder to all of them.
"Anytime we see assaults go up, it's just a reminder of how dangerous it is and how we always have to be aware of our surroundings and protect our fellow agents," Conlin said.
NBC 7 San Diego spoke with one field agent working near the border Wednesday night who said there has been a lot of activity near the San Ysidro border here lately.
So much so, he said they're calling in agents from other parts of the county to patrol here.

I can't blieve people would actually throw rocks at border patrol agents. Don't they know that these federal employees are weak and feeble. You could easily kill one of them for heaven's sake. If you are going to throw rocks, throw it at a business owner who can take it and is hardened by the years spent supporting all those in the government who suck off him or her,

Mexicans feel like they are immune to any punishment by border agents once they are on the Mexican side. Next step will be pot shots at agents across the border, expect a shooting war in the future. Weirdo I wonder if you would be so blase if 3 men were throwing rocks at you.
We have the best trained military in the world. Perhaps instead of having them come home to the unemployment lines, put them to work on the border actually defending this nation, rather than offending others.
I have an idea! Lets move the border fence back inland a few miles and turn the space between the border and the fence into a no mans land. right at the border we put up signs in English and Spanish that say: entering into US Territory. DANGER: Minefield and automated turrets and drones! Any and All moving things will be SHOT by soulless machines! Then fill the no-mans-land with mines, automated motion turrets and overhead drones. Don't want to get shot, don't illegally enter into a foreign country!
The fence itself will be electrified with a moat in front of it. The moat is filled with poisoned spikes. On the other side will be randomly automatically repositioning artillery pieces that fire into the no mans land periodically. Towers armed with automated infrared motion activated long range sniper rifles will be placed along the fence.
If a Mexican wants to legally immigrate to the US we will have a sign placed underneath the Danger sign that shows a map pointing to the nearest border crossing where they may apply for legal entry.
There we go! Now the border guards don't have as much work to do!

I have a little tiny bit of Native American blood (my great great grandfather or something), but the majority of my ancestors came from Europe in the early 1900's. The difference is they came through the front door LEGALLY. If people want to come to the USA from Mexico I have no problem with that but they need to go stand in line like everybody else! What makes the border hoppers better than my ancestors? Why did my ancestors have to do it the right, legal way but modern day illegals can just jump the fence?I thought all is well !
and since nobody is coming across and they have started letting go thousands detained on a promise to show up for a court date to be deported !

I have another idea, when these thugs throw rocks across the fence hitting the border agents give them authority to fire on the thugs.

If they throw rocks at agents the agents should drop them with bullets. Double electric fences is the answer and shoot to kill if they get over the first one.

We already have Nazi style checkpoints many miles from the border inside our own country.
The manpower used to stop and question American citizens without cause should be used to cover the border and not allow illegals to cross in the first place.

However, with the recent killing of one of our Border Patrol Agents with guns the administration allowed to illegally cross the border is something that cannot be forgotten. This article was written to get Americans in an uproar so that we will side with Napolitano and her Homeland Security employees.She claims that the billions her department gets is not enough and now has to furlough border patrol agents.I'll bet that the number of incidences rising along the border have been inflated much like her ego.

Yes, Mexican people are people, being that one talks about the Mexican as if they were vermin, you would of done well with Hitler. One the other hand, there is international law as well as domestic law. I have worked in the Mexican Consulate, I have worked in the fields with Mexicans, and I have worked with the Farm Worker's Association, and to top it off I married a Mexican National. Now, I am an American and I see a lot of respectful Mexican population in this country. Now, on the opposite side, there are people who are involved in very dangerous gangs, cartels, zetas, mafia, and human traffickers, not to forget drug traffickers. These people are dangerous and they are not playing. However, there are stupid young adults who think they can throw rocks at US citizens. A very strong message needs to be sent to the President of Mexico, because the assaults could be considered an attack on US citizens and Federal Agents. Let me say one more thing, I lived in Mexico, and those Federal Agents, and Police do not play around. If an American citizen threw rocks at a Federal Agent of Mexico they would not be as kind. I suggest, that the Mexican Government needs to man their land with their own agents and stop their citizens from such aggression that can be construed as an act of war. I do love my country and I also love Mexico, but the American public has to understand we want peaceful ties with the Mexican Government and the people. Only because if we do not keep the peaceful ties with them, we really will have an enemy at the border. And all of Latin America behind them. While I lived in Mexico, there were many Americans that live and travel through Mexico, including Mexican Americans. There was a post on one of the sites that the Zetas vow to kill Mexican Americans. Therefore, there is more problems than what is portrayed in the media. The problem is not with Mexicans, the problem is with a very dangerous force that is happening through the Americas, including the US. I live in Texas and I know that the same things that are going on in Mexico are happening here. And as we keep our eyes closed, well, we are getting overtaken by violence all through America and in Mexico. In addition, Visas are not available to these people, it is very hard to get one. Maybe we should make it a little easier, we certainly have many nationalities in this country, but, they seem to be the ones with money to be able to come into this country. A Mexican has to own a house in Mexico, and he has to have money in the bank to get a visa to come into this country. But, the ones coming off the ranches and farms do not have that privilege to get a visa. So, maybe we can open the way for them to come legally, and that will keep the border much more open to take care of the criminals who want to make money, to have power, and to use violence as a mean to the end.

Some of the 31 American sanctuary cities are Washington, D.C.; New York City; Jersey City; Los Angeles; San Francisco; Santa Ana; San Diego; San Jose; Oakland; Salt Lake City; El Paso; Houston; Detroit; Chicago; Minneapolis; Miami; Denver; Baltimore; Seattle; Portland, Oregon; New Haven; Somerville; Cambridge; Portland, Maine; and Tulsa. These cities have adopted "sanctuary" ordinances banning city employees and police officers from asking people about their immigration status.
When we allow States to be complicit in breaking Federal Laws, this is an outrage. Each state which allows sanctuary cities should be fined a billion dollars annually. This will allow the border guards to be paid well and a significant fence built. As soon as the illegal criminals living in these “sanctuary” cities realize they will be punished under Federal Laws, the exodus should be impressive.
But then again, we have to have a government willing to enforce and punish the criminals and the States in order for this to succeed.
The message that the Obama Administration is sending the message that if you violate our immigration laws with impunity, you will be rewarded with special treatment in the form of amnesty. This doesn't exactly create a sense that the United States requires respect for our laws. Just the opposite-- IT PROMOTES LAWBREAKING and engenders a sense of entitlement that there will be rewards for lawbreaking!!! After all, the second someone even suggested it, the minority agencies would be all over it for infringing on the rights of the illegals. This is Benghazi. It was known that Al Qaeda was there. The Ambassador cried out for help. In the run-up to the attack on 9/11 the US consulate was bombed twice. We didn't respond or take any measures to protect the consulate after the bombings. We basically told the terrorists "we're weak and won't do anything about it." Now we have the same thing on the border. We're not going to retaliate when we are assaulted. Guess what? Attacks increase. Who would have thunk?
Congress is thanking all the Border Patrol agents for putting their lives on the line with furloughs and pay freezes.
Considering the high number of people who are crossing our borders illegally, only shows the government has never truly been concerned about our borders, but have used the "invaders" as an excuse to remove our rights and freedoms.

It would take too much time to aim, load and fire. The hills do, however, make great starting points for a line of razor wire reinforced by sandbag walls and concrete lined with machine guns, which would probably provide a more efficient defense.
I totally agree they need to be delt with on sight! If they appear to be planning harm to our people drop them! Sadly for our citizens the government isn't washy washy on the subject. The current administration is pro illegal alien & anti citizens rights. The actual purpose of the federal government is to provide united defense of the citizens from enemies foreign & domestic. Not to tax our citizens into poverty so they can wage wars for foreign interests while letting known criminals infiltrate from foreign lands. Then upon the illegal aliens successful act of invasion provide them with support & protection while effectively neutering the border patrol & law enforcement. As it is at this point the criminal illegal aliens are afforded more rights than the citizens who pay the bills & follow America's laws. Perhaps impeachment isn't the radical notion I once thought it was.
Rock throwing is assault with a lethal weapon. These BP agents have every right to protect themselves with their sidearms when so attacked. The rock-throwing will then stop.
I would like to see the U.S. Marines bring in special forces to deal with organized criminals who are operating smuggling of people, drugs and guns. Any U.S. property owner being trespassed should be able to call in BP and military to stop the illegal activities. We have a military to protect our country, right?

This past presidential election was rampant with fraud. I know of at least 2 illegals who were able to vote in the presidential election. Thank you Napolitano. Obama and Janet N have neutered the BP and ICE. And now the President of Mexico has stated that he wants Obama to meet with him when there are changes being considered related to our borders. Just what the h*ll is going on in this country? Living in CA it's obvious that the flow of undocumented immigrants has not slowed down one iota. Janet needs to establish a second home here in the LA area, I'll pick out the neighborhood so she can experience it first hand. It won't be hard to find the right area, most of LA now looks like a third world county cesspool.
The last time they came to AZ and drove the border they had over 300 armed guards and they stayed more than 10 miles from the border!!! They did not go into the areas where we have signs posted on US property saying the CRIMINAL BORDER CROSSERS are in total control of the area and US citizens should not enter or they might get killed on US soil by criminals from Mexico!!!!
The Mexican Government gives them back packs and maps and water in order to make sure they make it into our country illegally. They want all the money that the criminals send back to Mexico and spend in Mexico.

I know that we already let over a million immigrants from Mexico into the USA legally right now, I think that is plenty. The rest can file the paperwork and wait their turn or just stay home. If a woman sneaks across the border and has a baby then the hospital needs to tell the mom, you are being deported, you can take your child without a birth certificate and go or, we can take your child and put it up for adoption with a birth certificate from the USA and you never see the child again!!!
If our politicians spent as much money on the hard working, law abiding, tax paying citizens as they did the liars and thieves who refuse to work, or the ones who illegally sneak into our country, we would have a much better country. When I say spend it on the taxpayers I mean build better roads, (No More Art on the side of the road), hire a few more people for places like motor vehicle and make them work or fire them, hire more cops, more firefighters etc.... We could afford a whole lot more and better things if we quit supporting the leaches of the world!!!
We need to start a new system for government workers also, you must work 8 full hours of work or you get fired!!! I am tired of watching a bunch of fat lazy government employees standing around visiting while I waste my day waiting for them to do their job. No more government employee unions.... You do not work you get fired, you call in sick to much you get fired... you are not qualified for the job, you get fired... Do this for the schools as well as all other government positions....
We could afford to put up a proper fence on the border and keep the thieves and drug cartels out of the USA. With all of the savings from paying worthless lazy people to stay home and play games or sell drugs on the street corners while collecting welfare and making deals on their odumbass phone that I pay for we could do a lot of good for this country and the people who actually deserve it!!!
I think I have made my point that I am tired of supporting those who do not wish to support themselves. I am all for helping out someone who actually needs help. The reason for the welfare system was to help out on a short term not a lifelong support system that entire families and generations have lived off of. I have no problem with it helping out the way it was meant to be. It was not made to support drug dealers and thieves so they do not have to work but instead deal poison and steal from everyone while we pay to support them and raise more future welfare recipients. It was not meant to be a way of life but a life temporary helping hand when you are in trouble for no longer that 6 months and then you should be back to work!!!

Bring jobs back to the USA, Kick the illegals out, tell the companies that moved over seas or somewhere else that it will cost them so much money to bring their goods back into this country they cannot afford to do it so they might as well come back, tell all foreign companies that they cannot sell their goods for less than American made products, tell the EPA that we can make standards that allow a company to operate and slowly work on making it better as the science comes up with better ideas, it is ignorant to tell a company that they have to meet a standard that is going to cause them to go bankrupt but no other countries are doing the same thing. I would rather have ten companies in the USA producing 60% of the emissions and employing Americans, than have ten American companies in China producing 100% of the emissions and employing Chinese. We need to stop the ignorance. We all live in the same atmosphere as China so why do we not seem to mind them producing 100% of the emissions over there??? My way brings jobs to the USA and cuts down on emissions the EPA and libs way sends the jobs out of the country and increases the emissions that are being put out in the atmosphere!!!
Fire the politicians, bring jobs back to our country, through the criminal border crossers out, get the lazy worthless leaches off of our welfare in the USA and around the world, tell the criminal border crossers no more babies born in the USA and getting birth certificates from the USA. OBama, Holder and everyone in federal government who are failing to enforce the laws of this country should be charged with crimes!!!! The only problem with shooting them is they will become more desperate and bring guns instead of rocks, ironically it will probably be guns bought in america. Also they will try and be the ones who shoot first until it escalates to a shootout every time a immigrant and BP agent meet. I however would agree that shooting first for us, and caring later would be preferable to this constant pussy footing and criminals being allowed to flout the law.

There are shows about this. Was watching an episode yesterday. The cartels go as far as having cranes right at teh border. They lift up the vehciles and dump them on theother side and off the go into America to deliver their drugs without any consequences!!!!!

Reformed: Presidents dont pass legislation. There is no jail provision for companies who hire illegals, only fines! The borders of this country should have been secured on September 12, 2001!! It's too expensive to deport 13M people.
But they should be given a path to citizenship. Such legislation should include, but not be limited to:
1) A time line to become a US citizen
2) gaining a functional use of English
3) pay a fine for illegal entry. ( a sort of downpayment for citizenship)

When interviewed she stated that we 'owed it to her'. And his uncle O was also ordered deported 20 years ago and suddenly has a valid SSN (who it actually was assigned to who knows sadly). But our President swore to uphold the laws of this country....NOT.
