Campus police at the University of Central Florida released surveillance video taken from a helmet cam as they unlocked the door to James Seevakumaran's room, finding the student dead from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police say two packages had been mailed to Seevakumaran containing new ammunition clips, and he had made a timeline of what he planned to do. NBC's Brian Williams reports.
The student who planned a massacre at the University of Central Florida before he shot himself to death was going through a checklist for the day, that included “pull fire alarm,” then “give them hell,” police said.
Details were emerging Tuesday about James Oliver Seevakumaran, 30, described as a loner who reportedly avoided eye contact with his own roommate — until the day he stared him down while holding a gun.
Police say he pulled the fire alarm at his dormitory on Monday, causing a panic, then went back into his apartment and pointed the gun at the roommate. The roommate fled into a bathroom and dialed 911.
A 911 recording of the incident was released late Tuesday. In it the dispatcher asks the roommate, "Where is he at now?"
"I don’t know," the roommate says. "I just he … like … the fire alarm went off I opened the door to see what was going on and he’s there with like some sort of gun, like large assault gun. I don’t know if it’s a real gun I don’t know what it is. I just saw it I just slammed my door shut and locked it."
When campus police arrived, they found Seevakumaran dead in his bedroom, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police and investigators also found a .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol, a .22-caliber tactical rifle and a backpack with four homemade explosive devices. Two 110-round magazines were also found as well as more than a thousand rounds of ammunition.

James Seevakumaran
At a news briefing on Tuesday, police offered new information on the case but some aspects remained a mystery. Police revealed that two packages were found that had been mailed to Seevakumaran but unopened that contained new ammunition clips and a sling for the tactical weapon.
Police also showed a video, taken by an officer wearing a camera, that showed an officer entering the dorm room and more officers quickly walking around the apartment as strobe lights flashed and the fire alarm blared. It shows them locating the body and seeing a weapon.
UCF Police Chief Richard Beary said there is nothing that has turned up yet to indicate that Seevakumaran had ties to any group or had engaged anyone as an accomplice.
"There is no motive," Beary said.
Seevakumaran, Beary said, had made out a timeline, a checklist, that indicated what he planned to do. It included going to an Orlando bar to drink as well as other items. Each item had been scratched off through the day. The last item scratched off before the suicide was "pull fire alarm,” Beary said. "Give them hell” was next.
These writings, Beary said, revealed a timeline of violence that the former business major planned to carry out at the school, a plan that only went awry when officers quickly showed up after the 911 call.
Seevakumaran was a business major who had been enrolled at UCF from the fall of 2010 to last fall, according to university officials. He had transferred to the university, which is in Orlando, from nearby Seminole State College, officials said. He grew up near St. Petersburg and was a 2001 graduate of Seminole High School.

An image taken from a police video recording shows University of Central Florida officers investigating reports of a man with a gun in a campus dorm.
According to The Tampa Tribune, Seevakumaran had lived with his parents and younger sister in the city of Seminole on a cul-de-sac of single-story homes built in the 1980s. The rare neighbor who remembered him recalled him as "quiet." In elementary school, he was honored for math proficiency, the newspaper reported.
At the University of Central Florida, Seevakumaran seemed to have had mounting financial problems. He had not paid his tuition or his housing bill for the spring semester, which began Jan. 7, but had not yet been evicted, university spokesman Grant Heston said.
Seevakumaran's family issued a statement through the university late Tuesday:
"The family of James Oliver Seevakumaran states that James was a loner and did not have a history of violence," it reads. "The family does not wish to make any further comments to the media, and they are requesting privacy during this difficult time."
Beary, speaking about the family, said "naturally, they are heartbroken."
An audio clip posted on the student news outlet KnightlyNews.com features a 3-minute interview said to be with Arabo “BK” Babkhani, the roommate who fled into the bathroom and called 911. Babkhani told UCF Knightly News that Seevakumaran seemed to have few family or friends, didn’t have visitors and didn’t talk on the phone with anyone.
Indeed, Babkhani said, Seevakumaran never made direct eye contact with him until their encounter Monday.
On Thanksgiving, Seevakumaran stayed in the dorm and cooked a full meal for himself, Babkhani said in the interview.
According to university officials, Seevakumaran had never sought or received counseling or psychological services from UCF.
A toxicology report was going to be conducted to determine whether drugs were in his system.
A news conference was planned at the university Tuesday afternoon to provide an update on the investigation.
Authorities are saying students and faculty at the University of Central Florida may have had a very close call yesterday after a 911 call from a student who said his roommate had a gun led to the discovery of explosive devices and a possible planned attack. NBC's Mark Potter reports.

Why does he look like a terrorist and have a last name that reminds me of King Tut? At the end of the day he did the right thing probably due in most part because of the roomate. People should not be in a dorm awaiting eviction, bad stuff will always happen.........
I am not sure I buy solely into the police response stopping him... Unless they showed up in 3 seconds, he had plenty of time to go on a shooting spree - heck if he waited too long the building would of emptied. He didn't even try to kill his roommate.
More detail please NBC, before the speculation!
also, is it a .22 caliber rifle, a .22 caliber assault rifle, or a .22 caliber tactical weapon?!?! Way to use different terms with each telling!
How about calling it a 3 foot long tube with a .22 inch hole bored in it that can expel a 30 gram projectile at 1,500 fps once per trigger pull? :P
Congrats to the roommate for keeping a level head and reacting appropriately. Potentially saving many lives.
The problem is, just noticing someone demostrating strange or unusual behavior is not enough to force psycological testing. Instead we are forced to sit and wait for them to self-destruct.
Our mental health issues in the country seem to be increasing, and I have not heard of anyone in office addressing it. What can we do for these people so that they can get the help they need without infringing on their civil rights?
I do not have an answer, but I hope someone comes up with one soon...
I used to attend UCF, where my younger brother currently goes. This article did a rather poor job telling the entire story. The gentleman who killed himself was in the process of being evicted, but UCF was allowing him to stay in the dorm until the process was completed(UCF has a policy of compassion for its students). He pulled the fire alarm, perhaps with the intention of learning how people responded to it so he could do it again and commit his atrocity(in the report i read he had an extended magazine and multpile explosives). However, he pulled a gun on his roommate who hid in the bathroom and called 911, with police responding within 3 minutes. The quick response is what is credited with putting so much pressure on this man that he committed suicide
I'm not sure what a terrorist is suppose to look like. He looks like a troubled kid to me. Plenty of signs were probably there, and flags should have been raised, but it seems no one was paying much attention to him, including his family. We still don't know what happened for sure, for all we know, someone else was involved.
that's an Indian last name, not Arabic or Muslim
Another darkie who should've never been allowed to live among us! Seriously, a 30yo "Indian" in college, ah, aren't they supposed to live off campus. Any non-Western from that part of the world is not to be trusted, end of story!
youwish #1.6 is a troll's troll. Do not feed the troll's troll.
Yet you're such a pathetic loser you had to respond! Bl0w me!
"Why does he look like a terrorist and have a last name that reminds me of King Tut?"
Because you are xenophobic.
No Liberty --
I am a psychologist. Only a small proportion of the shootings are due to someone who has mental illness. In fact, the mentally ill are more likely to be attacked or killed. Most shootings are due to a variety of situational factors, impulse control problems, relationship difficulties, and a culture that promotes fast responses to life (instant media, negative mindsets, rigid thinking, etc.) and a social climate of pessimissim and negative thinking. All you have to do is look at road rage and some of the comments on these kinds of threads and see some of the above elements.
@IXLR8
" Why does he look like a terrorist and have a last name that reminds me of King Tut?" Yeah, why is that, IXLR8? Have you been living under a rock or are you narrow-minded? What part of "James Oliver" reminds you of King Tut? Are you only used to hearing Smith, JOnes and williams for last names? Geez!
His situattion sounds similar to James Holmes of the Aurora Shooting except that this James did not get any counseling first. It's really sad that someone young can feel so isolated that their thoughts turn to killing everyone around him. Lucky that the roommate was there and he decided to end his own misery.
"also, is it a .22 caliber rifle, a .22 caliber assault rifle, or a .22 caliber tactical weapon?!?! Way to use different terms with each telling! How about calling it a 3 foot long tube with a .22 inch hole bored in it that can expel a 30 gram projectile at 1,500 fps once per trigger pull? :P"
Yeah no chit. A semi-automatic rifle is just as deadly as an assault rifle or tactical rifle IN THE EXACT SAME CARTRIDGE. If I am not mistaken they are trying to hide the fact that it was "only" a .22LR instead of a .223/5.56mm since people would give them chit for it. I for one would not be since a semi-automatic .22LR is still a deadly weapon and it still has the ability to kill many people quickly; ANY GUN CAN. Not to mention the four explosives he had already prepared.
To bad the guy did not try to get some help and instead choose to end his own life.
You should really be using the 40 grain ones at 1400 fps in .22LR since they provide better penetration :P. The small faster lighter bullets can produce bigger wound channels, but do not have enough penetration to hit vitals. 12-14 inches is the minimum penetration required for the average human. Many people die every year due to a lack of respect for a "little" .22LR.
IXLR8 - Just so that you know, King Tut was an Egyptian Pharaoh (King). This guy has an Hindu Last Name (India). Worlds apart. Last time I checked, there is no big US terrorist threat coming from India. Look, the man had problems most likely mental. I am just glad that the only person he hurt was himself.
Absolutely an Indian, most likely Hindu religion or possibly Christian because of his first name. Definitiely don't blame us Muslims!
"Bobby" um, Piyush Jindal and "Nikki" er Nimrata Kaur (Nikki) Randhawa would be upset.
"Jimmy" Seevakumaran could have become governor of Alabama if he had calmed down.
Louisiana and South Carolina voters only need a friendly nickname - if Barack had embraced the nickname Barry," he would be president for life.
Right youwish. White people never do things like this. Americans never do something like this.
NOT.
99% of serial killers are white males. Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, et al
Adam Lanza, Jared Loughner, Ted Kazinsky, Timothy McVeigh, Anders Breivik - all white mass murderers.
Go crawl back under your rock.
compassion, see post # 1.7
Jody5789 - Amen, you are so right in what you said the kid had problems and no one seen the flags go up.
Haque - How stupid? If you don't want to be stereotyped then do not point fingers at other religions, ethnicity, color. "Don't blame us", don't hate us, blame them folks - what a wuss.
lol, sorry laughing at all the people who apparently confused ethnicity with religion.
Muslim is a religious belief, also called Islam. There are many white people, as well as Indians that are Muslim. What oyu mean to say is he is not "Arabic"....
But I would like to point out, geographically, Indian borders with Pakistan, which borders Iran... and the country of Indian is only 84% (at last check) Hindu... the rest... Muslim...
Keep in mind, too, individuals CAN legally change their names, Muhammed Ali and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar were born with other names.
Interesting notes: He couldn't pay his tuition, yet he could afford 2 very expensive weapons and the material to make explosives? He also had an unopened box of more ammunition and a sling.
How does a person accomplish getting such things shipped to them without buying?
Tired-2176559 - Well said and so true any gun is deadly no matter what the caliber is.
It sounds to me that all the people you've described are certifiably macadamian. Even someone with "road rage" needs to be locked up in a padded cell in a hoo-hoo hotel.
I am disgusted by member of society who pass judgment on others and have no empathy for anyone. These same individuals are the ones who will stab you in the back, fail to help their own family, or any others in need of a little help.
Once again, not only does this reporting lack a lot of details; but also, this will more than likely be the last bit of information reported about this young man who I'm sure served some purpose with his short time here on earth, and more information could have been provided about his contributions. We seem to no longer care when suicide is involved, yet this man is different from the rest as he chose not to hurt anyone other than himself.
If nothing else we should be concerned about why this young man felt the need to end his life. Although waiting eviction is a critical bit of information, there has to be more than he was just a loner.
To me this case is sadder than most others. Once again, Jame didn't harm anyone else. James was waiting to be evicted from his college dorm, the most expensive and comfortable environment one could have, yet he knew this living arrangement wasn't going to last much longer, and he had no resources to make this work for him? Where is Jame's family? Was James working a college job? We all know that even if he was this wouldn't have covered his college expenses. This is what the story should have included.
Why do colleges give the students a financial package that only last for one year? Why aren't packages given until completion of the program with locked in rates as long as one continues to make progress? Now here's an idea!! From my experience, the package is fantastic initially, then the further the student get into the program the steeper the cost become. Why? Why are students taking out unsubsidized loans! All their loans should be subsidized, and no interest should be accruing until completion of the program. More pressure should be placed on these colleges to graduate students in a timely manner, and if they can't then the 5th or 6th year should be on the college. These types of colleges do exist but I believe this should be happening at all colleges. If we can't make college free we need to make the cost affordable.
No one making progress in a program should be fearing that they will one day be evicted, and be on the streets. Is this what the U.S. does to people who are qualified of obtaining a college degree?
Larry, there isn't anything there that says that they were "very expensive weapons". Truth is that a High Point 45 ACP pistol is under $200 and a Ruger 10/22 can be had used for under $200 as well. Hardly expensive by any stretch. As for the ammo issue, 1100 rounds of 22 LR were under $40 just a few months ago. Home made explosives can be made for less than $5.00.
IXLR8:
Not sure what "looks like a terrorist" means. I do know it's the kind of statement that racists make. What you meant to say i,s he looked Middle Eastern.
Hmm,
You may want to reread the article. His name was James Oliver Seevakumaran, not James Oliver.
Jerry-1903677;
No such word as macadamian!
Finally, an NRA member does the right thing and blows his brains out. Other NRA members should take the hint.
All terrorists are not from the middle east There are Spanish Terrorists and Pilipino terrorists and so on and so on. It has become the soup of the day. In fact the US was called the terrorist and in Palestine the Jews etc etc etc. This guys scenario was much like the Batman guy's as they were at the end of their imaginary rope so to speak and decided to take as many others out with them. Both did not have to do such a thing but today it seems to be ingrained in some of their minds. The old saying live fast die hard and make a good looking corpse was what they used to say when I was young. Now its shoot up a school. I myself cannot believe anyone can live in the same room with somebody who will not look at you. That would be too creepy. In fact it may be that is a cry for help and if the guy had got it for him he may have got what he needed. To hard to try and explain in a mind gone wrong.
If I may, I think Jerry was referring to the macadamia nut. In other words, Jerry's comment was meant to be witty and humorous. - Good one, Jer. I'll have to remember that should the occasion arise.
Karlene, your resoning is faulty. He had all intentions of hurting others and got scared off probably by his room mate's actions.
there is no answer. either we sacrifice some of our personal rights and freedoms or this keeps happening. period.
Is the new news liberal rag standard sift the world for gun and or pervert stories? Why so your idiot liberal brain demands more idiot government. Less guns more Abortion ,less marriage more perverts ,less growth more welfare and lets not forget girls and boys our sky is falling so lets tax the snot out of work?
His surname is of Hindu origin, ethnicity most likely Indian or Sri Lankan. He grew up in Florida, possibly of mixed race parentage (American or British?) which may account for the names James Oliver. Indians value education highly; if he were in fanancial trouble and couldn't complete his education, it may have provoked his actions,
youwish & IXLR8 are trolls!
Don't feed the trolls!
Thought dude was Pakistani?
The rock won't have him back.
Based on his name he is a Christian convert of Indian origin. Most Christian converts in India keep their last name and change their first name to a Christian name.
I haven't heard of Indian students shooting up anyone in America. I guess converting to Christianity turns on the murderous rage, huh. Or turns you into a freak like "Bobby" Jindal.
I would venture a guess that this potential blood bath had nothing to do with race or religion.
I suspect that this man has been wallowing in his own insecurity for a very long time, expecting that collage would be the place where he would find a niche for himself, and hook up with a "Van Wilder" type of crowd who would help him acquire a social life, or at least find some other Math Nerds to hang out and chug a few Brews with... but that kind of thing doesn't happen unless you make a little bit of effort yourself, or someone (like a roommate) takes pity on you and drags you out to have a good time often enough that you finally "unclench"... of course there are some who really need professional help as well...
the world owes us nothing, and people have no right to act as if it does... but that little bit of truth will not protect us from the Adam Lanza's of the world... will it ?
there are people out there who are painfully unhappy, and they are very angry that no one seems to care, even if (in reality) people have made an effort to help them out... combine all that stored up self pity, within a person who also possesses a Selfish, self centered and Jealous nature... and you have all the makings of a potential Killer.
it makes you wonder if maybe bullying or even teasing a social misfit, could possibly end up costing many lives... eh ? and perhaps if YOU were the only person in a dorm with a misfit like this one, who had treated him with an ounce of dignity... well perhaps he does not shoot you ?.. hmm.. I wouldn't count on it, but the point is that perhaps it doesn't hurt to try...
Have a Better Day, folks.
Go for it David, I believe it was a will thought out trerrorist plot with a coward on the end of it ( not that they all aren't cowards ). A 30 year old man didn't spend that kind of monie on weapons unless he ment to do real dammage. His room mate was a true hero and quick thinking by calling 911 while being placed in that position. Most people would be all freaked out and frozen stiff, I have no Idea how I would have reacted being 61 I probably would have had a heart attack. Anyway praise God for having the right person in that room with the coward.
NoLiberty!
You are so correct .22 caliber rifle, a .22 caliber assault rifle, or a .22 caliber tactical weapon?!?!
NO SUCH THING!
More of NBC news propaganda. the news site with an agenda NBC was actually caught in an OUTRIGHT LIE the other day
Statement from Chris W. Cox, NRA-ILA Executive Director, regarding inaccurate NBC story alleging that NRA won't oppose background check bill
An article appearing today on NBCNews.com is falsely reporting that NRA will not oppose legislation being negotiated in the U.S. Senate that would mandate background checks for all gun purchasers.
The story posted on NBCNews.com alleges that NRA will not oppose expanding the background check system to include all private firearm sales, "provided the legislation does not require private gun sellers to maintain records of the checks". This statement is completely untrue. The NRA opposes criminalizing private firearms transfers between law-abiding individuals, and therefore opposes an expansion of the background check system.
The NRA supports meaningful efforts to address the problems of violent crime and mass violence in America, through swift and certain prosecution of violent criminals; securing our schools; and fixing our broken mental health system.
An OUTRIGHT LIE BY NBC
YOU OT BELIEVE ANYTHING ON THIS NEWS NETWORK
THEY HAVE AN AGENDA AND THEY LIE PURE AND SIMPLE
Witchking...
If you cannot believe anything you read here...then why do you come here and read it...and then take the time to comment on it. I mean you have posted over 4700 comments on here since you registered a scream....hmmm. Such obsessive behavior should be investigated...I mean 4700....you must have no life, must be a 'loner' and you have a lot of guns...hmmm. Uh...have you paid your tuition this semester?
Maybe you should go grab your gun, go to the bedroom and use it as a 'stimulation device' in your posterior
freedomfrys
Finally, an NRA member does the right thing and blows his brains out. Other NRA members should take the hint.
Do you mean for someone to "Blow your brains out, freedomfrys?" With a comment like that, I am sure someone would miss their target even at point blank range. MORON!
My Corner,
You missed the entire point. Muslims are always blamed before the facts are known. And as the 2nd most populous religion on this planet , yes we do have an unsettling amount of rotten ones who call themselves Muslims, but conversely there are also so many wonderful Muslims. I wasn't pointing the finger, just stating the truth that this guy wasn't Muslim and that there are bad in all walks of life. And just as Compassion For All stated there are many white males, not of the Islamic faith who have killed. I am Caucasian and American born and I do speak the truth. I am tired of my faith constantly being blamed as the cause for something bad. It's the mental state of the individuals that cause all this , no matter what religion or ethnic background.
So go stay in your corner and read and educate yourself.
A was waiting for the Psyhco crowd to weigh in in defense of this one. And they didn't disappoint, Tenth comment down. It was situational, it was social, it was his crummy childhood, it was peer pressure, it was this, it was that. Bottom line, it's Not his fault, he was misunderstood, bullied, picked on. PPUH-LEEEEEESE!!.
If he intended to use the guns or explosives on his fellow students or professor, I'd say his meaning was pretty clear. The only thing that stopped him was his room mate dropping a dime on him, so rather than go out a ultra villain, he went of alone at his own hand. In any event, a some point he has to make the decision to be the villain, the mass murderer, the jihadist, whatever. He has to make a choice, to deal with his problems or be a douche bag. His mental state is not withstanding, he still has to make a decision to do something like this.
I have been a gun collector for longer than most of you have been alive. None of my many guns have ever harmed a fellow human being. If it is the guns as many of you contend, how do you explain that? What I find strange is this is a new phenomenon unheard of three decades ago. What has changed so drastically in our society? Insert logical explanation here, psychologists if you can. As a Native American, You would think we would have had ample excuse to mount these kinds of attacks on non natives, yet, to my knowledge we never have. We have ample access to guns and drugs (unfortunately, thanks to the Anglo/Europeans) and given the history of our treatment in post invasion America. If it were situational or societal, why the lack of attacks? The same could be said for African Americans, so why have they not been the perpetrators of these kinds of shootings. Explain that psychologists and psychiatrists, if you can. Aside from the infrequent Jihadist and random foreigner or mixed race assailant, this is done far more often than not by middle and upper class whites. By those who are supposed to have it all, right? They well adjusted ones, who later become doctors, lawyers, and the worst of the lot, politicians.
It seems the Anglo/European nature is that of the mass murderer. How many cultures have you and your ancestors of Anglo/Europeans destroyed through out history? Let's see, Native American, Central American Natives, (Aztec, Inca, Toltec, Maya, etc.), Philippine, Polynesian, South American, African, (Shara and sub-Sahara) Aboriginal (Australia), the list seems endless. Then you act surprised and shocked when one of your one kills in double digits?, Really? Sounds like chickens coming home to roost to me. After all, you've tormented, enslaved or killed off most other cultures you deemed unworthy of possessing the land and resources they had and more importantly, you wanted. Not us, we managed to survive you conventional and biological war on us,,, Barely. Others weren't so lucky. Absent other cultures to vilify and demonize, you are finally turning on yourselves. Mentally ill, I think not, just another in a long list of murdering Anglo/European genocidal cultural supremacists. Lacking in compassion, you say? Wounded Knee, Wolf Creek, the Trail of tears, Sand Creek, where was this compassion you speak of then? Oh that's right, it was just savage Indians, wasn't it? Not worth your concern. We will note forget, We will not forgive, We will one day, reclaim all that has been taken. We will wait, "As long as the wind shall blow, as long as the grass shall grow". Sound familiar? It's just one of the lies told us by the Anglo/Europeans.
A news report identified the rifle as a Kel-Tec SU-22CA Tactical .22LR Rifle. This is your basic 22 caliber rifle that has had a couple of cosmetic accessories added and the term "tactical" employed in the description to justify a larger price.
It comes with a 26 round magazine and I have been unable to locate any such 110 round magazine for this rifle that this story says was present in the dorm. In any event, were a 110 round magazine available for this rifle, malfunction is all but guaranteed.
How would you suggest the gun was described? If they said " .22 caliber assault weapon" the NRAphiles freak out about blowing it out of proportion. If it was just "a .22 rifle" it's incomplete reporting. I know what would make you happy. If there were no stories about guns except the ones about some hero saving the day when a psycho grabbed the last cold six pack.
Close the doors to immigration NOW. No more immigrants.
"Nicodemus1946"-
thanks for taking history and "breaking it down" for us, without any Bias... (yeah right..)
so its the "Anglo/Europeans" who are damaged eh ? well considering who you are, I guess I cannot blame you for feeling like you do...
but there are so many holes in your theory's and statistics that i'll just leave your commentary alone, except to say, in regard to your opinion of Anglo/Europeans...
that my people are IRISH...
so you can quit crying now, we all have histories... that being said- well, it is not a perfect world, it is still a somewhat Savage world, depending on where you live and who or what you are... Do YOU live like a Savage ? probably not, unless you choose to do so... so life for Americans such as you OR me, is pretty good by a World Standard... But life STILL isn't fair, is it ? and it never has been. I believe that Much Good is owed to the Advanced culture's of the Anglo/Europeans, as well as the Bad... such is life. so you can dwell on the past, or look to the future of Humankind and try to make some advancement, its an uphill climb to say the least... but spending time and energy looking for someone to blame, is EASY... Because Everyone can share just a little bit of blame if we look hard enough, and the blame game rarely serves us... usually it just serves to Divide us, and make us Weak... Hmm.. that sounds like "our" Middle East Strategy, doesn't it ?... and i'm just fine with that.
Ironic you can have a name like "compassion for all" and make such a racist statement, yet garner 20 votes for it. So, "compassion for all", which race is it most okay to be racist against in this country? Go to a black country and post "99% of serial killers are black" and see how many votes your comment gets. So where did you get this statistic, "compassion"? Oh, that's right. You pulled it out of your butt. And what color are most serial killers and mass murderers in non-white countries? I'll tell you this much, they ain't white. When bombs go off in the Middle East, why do you suppose they don't panic and hunt down visiting Norwegians, to see if they are the culprits? Is it because they're so much less racist than white people, or could it possibly be because Norwegians have never bombed a Middle Eastern country? Both Timothy McVeigh and Anders Breivik went on their killing sprees for the same reason - they were sick of being forced off their ancestral lands by invading hoards of 3rd Worlders. If whites were invading the Middle East, you'd see just as much violent expression of discontent from the Muslim residents. The only difference is that those Muslims wouldn't be blaming eachother for it, they'd be blaming us invading whites! If whites invaded Africa or Mexico, the blacks or mestizos would band together and unitedly (and violently) tell us to get out of their country! They certainly wouldn't shrug off our terroristic activities and mass murders, while scolding eachother for not rolling out the welcome mat for those whites who aren't hiding bombs.
And before you whine about the Native Americans, name a single country on this planet that was not taken from it's original inhabitants by force. North America was taken primarily by the spread of disease. Whether you want to call it Israel or Palestine, that is definitely one country that was taken by force, so somebody should be invading somebody else's land. Why don't you figure out who and go preach over there? In the meantime, we'll just keep getting bombed by Muslims over here.
99% of serial killers are White? Total Bull@!$%#. Why don't you google Black serial killers, genius? There are proportionately more serial killers within the Black population than they are serial killers in the White population. You make this claim because the mass media is incredibly dishonest and agenda driven, they only publicize White serial killers and they have created a false public perception. This bull@!$%# narrative is most fanatically believed by the most ignorant Americans, those who can't or won't think for themselves. Unfortunately, that describes the majority of Americans. This majority only regurgitates the media narrative, and they are the LCD.

It's called EXPOSING the lies, since there seem to be so many sheep on the 'Vine' that believe all the propoganda reported by this so-called news rag. I read it too, for entertainment and the opportunity to refute all the stupid comments and arguments by said sheep. It's fun. Most of the time I either get no response or they deflect and attack or miss the point altogether... which tells me I won.
How can they say the roommate saved lives? The guy didnt shoot anyone but himself. Maybe if the roomate had given a crap about the guy in the first place he wouldn't have killed himself. Roommate doesn't sound like a hero to me, sounds like a guy that is very selfish.
"Maybe, shoulda, woulda, coulda". It was not the roommate's responsibility to act like his mother. He has no blame, and is lucky to still be alive.
gotta love the media/government drama on any tale they can spin!
.22 cal's are not tactical because the ammunition isn't.. that would be .223 or .56cal weapons with a distinct function of being able to select from HOW you want the rounds to fire from the weapon other than safety on/off switch. that is a cheap replica.
the roommate didn't save anything, or any one... the guy killed himself when he was on the phone in the bathroom with 911 dispatch... did the phone call its self put up a bullet proof barrier between the armed dead guy and the other students? if you think so, I want some of your koolaid!
this is another lame drama session, by the informed passing onto the ill informed (not too bright) to further tear up our constitution. if you tear up the 2nd amendment, the rest of our rights go with it. our constitution is the oldest, and longest lasting constitution in all mans history, and before the government started attacking it, our nation was also top dog on this planet compaired to now.
credit card
In today's Anti-gun environment.......... I wonder how much of the ammo, magazines etc etc etc were planted there by the Anti-gun freaks that seem bent on making headlines every day?
The guy is dead. Seems to be a pattern huh? They always end up dead. Now convenient for the Anti-gun freaks.
Anyone could have shot him. Anyone could have shot Adam Lanza's Mom. How convenient.
its wonderful when people with mental illness let it implode inward and claim their own life, as opposed to the ones who let it implode outward and take the lives of others in standoffs. mental illness is behind much of our gun massacres today. the hallmark of the mentally ill is that theres nothign wrong with them, 'people: others, family, society, government' take your pick the real ones 'out to get them'. they are powerless in the real world but of course suddenly have power with guns and when exacting a plan of revenge. no counseling would have helped this guy. mental illness is not someone moping around a few months indepression. and planning a massacre is not because he didnt get some talk therapy. it is severe chemical imbalance that douses or starves the brain of essential chemicals that allow the person to function on social and emotional levels. mentally ill people are prone to psychosis and can go in and out of psychotic states without even being aware of it. the regular mentally ill person is high functioning in many cases and at least baseline smart. his family knew long ago something was wrong with their son--they all do--but families are often in denial or want to make excuses for erratic behavior. untreated bi polar children are likely by the time they are in their late teens to have full blown mania whose charastics are grandiosity, decreased need for sleep and rapid fire thoughts and impulsivity they cannot control. people who are mentally ill do not usually seek treatment on their own because their mental illness has been normalized by their rationale system and often their families. a mentally ill person can always 'explain' why they are doing what they are doing. the very point being that despite the explantion, they have lost all touch with reality. it takes a village. if your child or someone you know is with criteria of mental illness, encourage them to get help that includes a written psyche eval. mental illness is not the fault of the person who has it but it is collectively the fault of those around them who see it but wont get that person to help. if they refuse help, a mentally ill person is just a molitiove cocktail. add a gun and they are a massacre waiting to happen. they will either implode or explode--which we have been seeing so much of lately. its a fictional movie but donnie darko will give you some insight into how worthless talk therapy is to someone who is suffering from mental illness.
Yet again, we here a litany of excuses why some nut-job wanted to shoot up a school. Thankfully he chose end his own life rather than killing numerous innocent bystanders. Am I happy that he is dead, no, but I am glad that no innocent folks died with him.
I think he thought about it, planned the heck out of it...and ultimately could not bring himself to do it. I m sure he could have shot his roommates door open and killed him if he really wanted to. Somewhere ...deep down, I think he still had a soul.
Besides Indian or Sri Lankan, could SEEVAKUMARAN = Bosnian or Eastern European?
Nope, he has all the attributes of a turban head. Bosnians are different, ethnically and culturally, this guy is one of them caste monkeys unfit to live in the West! He might've been born in the US but he'll always remain a foreigner. Those people have played zero part in the building of America, they have no place here and they know it!
Of course, Tim McVeigh did not look like a terrorist in your book. *eyeroll*
The police were giving themselves props for "averting a massacre" due to their "rapid response time" within minutes of finding his dead body! I have to question if he did indeed have a plan to shoot a bunch of people as he didn't attempt to kill his roommate or a single other person!! The powers that be are going to do whatever necessary to keep the public scared and thinking that the public will never be safe without the police there to "protect" them, even though the police are there to mop up after the fact when a crime has been committed, rarely do they prevent crimes by being rapid responders, people don't (at least not yet) call the police because everything looks fine here but there might be something happen in a few minutes, like the Oklahoma city bombing, why didn't someone call that in before hand!!
Not saying this guy WASN'T capable of doing something like Aurora or Sandy Hook, but I'm not convinced without doubt that he was planning what the police claim he was planning!! A 22lr is not an assault rifle either, they are deadly if you hit your target in the right spot first shot and at semi close range but after 100 yds they are not going to penetrate heavy clothing period (especially hollow point ammo) and in the case of light clothing they simply will not penetrate deep enough into a body to do enough damage to be fatal (a head shot or spinal/neck shot cold be fatal but the head is an extremely small target to hit at that range plus the head will be moving or at least should be, your an idiot if you stand still for a lunatic to take good aim at you in a shooting situation) you would suffer pretty serious bruising and it would most certainly hurt like hell none the less! Another issue that plagues semi auto 22lr guns is that without proper cleaning and (this is the most critical part) using premium ammo they are subject to jamming and "stovepiping", pretty much constant ammo feeding problems, not good for pulling off an "assault"! If they were that effective then the military would have our troops carrying them and our police would be carrying them!! Ever wonder why they don't? Because a 22lr has almost zero stopping power! An assault rifle is not limited to any of the above mentioned issue common with the 22lr!!
sumatymrolls
Not saying this guy WASN'T capable of doing something like Aurora or Sandy Hook, but I'm not convinced without doubt that he was planning what the police claim he was planning!!
I'll say it then ----He did not have what it takes (within himself) to commit murder, If he did there would be a story of a dead roommate and X amount of other people dead and wounded. I Do agree to what your saying in the rest of your post.
A business major with money trouble. I can't believe Wall Street or one of the big banks were not knocking his door down. Good afternoon, suspects, misfits, rascals and more.
A minority can't get money and US Government help????? He didn't ask?
Shame more don't stick a gun to the head before they hurt others. Glad it ended they way it did, sorry for the family.
Thanks Stonepipe2, That was a good one! And I am still laughing.
Most college students are financially strapped, and many are loners.
Most aren't 30 years old!!! We had a 32 yo, and we thought he was old! He lived off campus though, minded his own business. Oh, he was White. Now any non-White in his 30s in college screams of terrorist! Instead of being worried about the poor Mexican who cuts the grass, we should be concentrating on all the pakis and people from that part of the world who overstay their student visas. They are terrorists in the making. Not sure why we keep handing visas to pakistanis and middle eastern types.
"Now any non-White in his 30s in college screams of terrorist!"
That has got to be the most stupid, xenophobic attitude I have ever seen. Where do people like you come from? America the intolerant.
Makes you wonder how many more of these types of people are fantasizing something like this...
n
Sees through gloss, so, we should ban colleges now
Instead of the giant picture of the guy who wanted to murder people, could we instead give thanks to the roommate, Arabo? Sure, running into the bathroom might not seem like the bravest thing in the world, but his actions, and the rapid response of the police, probably saved dozens of lives on Monday.
59,000 Americans die in Vietnam and this gets the news. Countless women and children die in Iraq, and many other country's, and this is news. People loose it sometimes. That is life. They go off the deep end .
I for one am tired of hearing about school shootings and disturbed people loosing it. This is nothing but nonsense , the correct category is "so what" How many people did we kill today please? How many people suffer due to the people of this country not caring about anyone but themselves. America is the government murder capital of the world, this man was just another good American that was ineffective in his results.
OK, now fast forward your mindset approximately 50 years to 2013.
Ronald, I'm not sure that Nam is breaking news at this point. That being said, I am a bit tired of the relentless negative news. Who said every freaking story has to be negative, except during the holidays? I could really use a fluffy bunny story about now.
Ron W. - This is news because of the hysteria created by the anti-gun wackjobs. What you describe is war. War is ugly, but sometimes necessary. If you are so sour on America, one-way ticket sales to another part of the world might be your answer. Don't badmouth this country and then reap the benefits of living here. It's called hypocrisy.
I with you 'in the middle'. Not every contemporary news story needs a reference to 'Nam' or 'liberals' or 'Obama' etc. People just use their posts to politicize their own agenda...nothing more.
Here's your fluffy bunny story (trying to be funny):
A fluffy bunny was bouncing his way across the campus at UCF. Suddenly, from behind a tree, emerged Wayne LaPierre, aka Elmer Fudd, with his assault rifle. He aims, he fires repeatedly and rapidly, and he scores! The big man with his assault weapon is victorious over his viscious prey! Yea !
Final result..Lapierre enjoys his wabbit soup for dinner (filled with 2 pounds of lead). But, after he fine dines on his proud catch, he slowly and painfully dies from lead poisoning.
In the end, the fluffy bunny gets his revenge.
Sorry to all fluffy bunnies .....Sorry for my infusing my own agenda into this post 'in the middle'.
in the middle-2260511 - That's not going to happen anytime soon. Most people will not even open a link to a funny storry or watch the news about something funny. It's America's mindset and lack of caring for anyone but themselves.
enuff already:
Yeah, I agree entirely with the tone of your comment, except that you forgot to mention the pro-gun nut jobs in your statement.
Two 110 round magazines. No well equipped hunter would want to be without those.
Larry my thoughts exactly...so easy to get guns in this country...the gun nuts will have it no other way...but Americans are seeing through them. Gun nuts are all mentally ill. While I would like to see no guns at all...there is quite a difference from a hunter who has a couple rifles, or a person who has a handgun for personal protection...and these gun nuts who want every kind of bullet hurling device in as large a quantity that they can find.
What was needed in moderation 260 years ago in a mostly untamed rural America is not what is needed in 2013.
And 'enuff already' if a many who had hundreds of rounds of ammunitions, several guns and a written plan to use them in a mass murder is not news what is?
Frankly True
Gun nuts are mentally ill? And how did you determine that diagnosis? By your years of study in the Field of Mental Health? Or just by voicing your opinion as a keyboard Troll? Hmmmm......Very Interesting?
Frankly True,
You wrote it's "so easy to get guns in this country." So many gun grabbers constantly cry that mantra but please enlighten us, how many have you bought since it's so easy? 10? 20? 30? Did you just waltz into a gun show and buy your arsenal?
Oh I know. You're probably not talking about purchasing them legally are you? Okay then how many have you bought illegally underground where the criminals get them since according to you it's so easy to buy firearms? 10? 20? 30? Some even boast it's easier to buy a gun than get a drivers license. Did you find that to be the case or are you simply parroting what you hear the media broadcast? Nahhh, you'd never do that would you?
It must not have been prohibitively difficult for him to get 110 round magazines. One reason I'm against online sales. If you feel you need a gun, you can go buy it in person, so the seller can make a reasonably sane judgement whether or not you should have a gun. Identity theft is so rampant lately that without a picture ID, and visually comparing it, is it that impossible that a felon could use stolen identities to make a buy online?
Frankly true, I guess that makes ME mentally ill. And oh, by the way, all those people in the United States at and during World War II who owned guns and who kept the Japanese from actually invading the U.S. with their army were mentally ill too. You see, that was the only reason they didn't!!! So quit yapping about gun owners ==LEGAL GUN OWNERS==being mentally ill. Even if you deserved it, I would NEVER put a bullet in your butt, by my foot????? That's another story.
All of you who think that the U.S. is so bad to have so many guns, please go to google and write "gun homocides and gun ownership listed by country." It was submitted on a U.K. site - www.guardian.co.uk.
It states that the U.S. is #1 in gun ownership - 270 million. But, in deaths by guns, it is #28 (out of 50 countries) - way down the list. And our gun ownership is over 5 times as many as the next countries listed. When they say #1, they are sincerely right. However, where are all the stats about us being so far down on the number of people killed by guns?
And another hint, whenever you receive e-mails telling of some great deal or bad news, etc., please check it out on Snopes.com or Truthorfiction.com. It saves you remembering a lot of bull.
Why was a 30 year old man living in a college dorm? He demonstrated extreme anti-social behavior and had not paid his bill. Perhaps the school needs to review some of their policies?
My thoughts exactly! You do not find many 30 year olds that live in a dorm. Most college students want to live off campus early on where it is less expensive than the dorm. There has to be more to this story.
Sounds to me like his family saw that as a solution for not having to deal with him.
Don't forget, he had "rights." No college or university wants to trample down anyone's "rights." Well, some of them at least.
CallMeLucky---Why?? Why review its policies? A lot of people have to stagger their educations over several years. Living off campus may be less expensive, but that would mean having to get some sort of transportation--buy a car, insurance, repairs, gas, etc. He may have lived on campus to get out of the house and broaden his circle of friends, but unfortunately was unsuccessful doing that. College education is not just for kids just out of high school. You need an education, you get it wherever you can and whenever you can.
This guy acts just my cat.....I wonder..........
So with the last money he have bought ...guns? Typical American mentality!
I would have bought beer
Beer indeed!
Bluto: [thrusting six-pack into Flounder's hands] My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.
There was NO mention of WHEN he bought, if he bought, the weapons.
UH he had just received a package of more gun supplies...through the mail...just like the gun nuts want.
Frankly True
gun nuts? Being a Keyboard Troll once again I see!
Well, we have gun nuts, and gun grabbers, both inaccurate, and both used way too often.
Seems to me the ultimate reson not to shoot others comes from this guy unstable psyhological condition and his lack of action came as a response to his roommate actions...Good grief!
Sounds more like a bomb-strapped loner
What is going on, both in the US and around the world - contagious insanity? So you mess up and can't pay your bills, no reason to want to kill people. With the bombs and all, this sounds more like he had decided to join the local Al Quaida chapter and take out a bunch of people so he would get his seventy ho's. All in all, sounds like rampant insanity, latest chapter.
I think this has a lot to do with overmedication, but not mental health. I think some parents use medication to control children who just are "too much to handle". Parenting skills are dead. Many doctors are accomplices in this. This causes a glut of addicted children, and this is before they ever see marijuana.
I am glad to hear he was just another typical American, cash strapped and a loner
"His roommate told police that Seevakumaran was a loner and anti-social but did not seem violent"
I don't mean to defend this guy, but introverts sure do get the shaft in this society. An introvert, as opposed to an extrovert, is simply a person who prefers solitude most of the time to the company of others. Most of them are not a bunch of nuts who go around slaughtering their fellow human beings. But you would never think so from reading or listening to the media. Whenever there is a serial killer or some kind of nut on the loose, they always emphasize, "He was a loner". How about giving us "loners" a break already!
Agreed. When I was in university, I would have been described as a quiet, cash-strapped loner, too.
Mifo,
"I would have been described as a quiet, cash-strapped loner, too."
I know what you mean, Mifo. I've been there myself. Not all college students are loners, but most are cash-strapped.
I would be considered a sort of a loner since I was 31 yrs old and didn't go to parties and all the B. S. that most students do. I was there to get an education since that was what I was paying for. It does not make me crazy and I was very cashed strapped only had my GI bill to pay for classes and books lived with my sister and commuted to school
Don't believe you understand. The article doesn't say loners are dangerous, they said this particular individual was a loner. They did not attribute his actions to his "lonerness".
Please don't respond with, there is no such word as "lonerness", I'm aware of that fact!
brad,
"The article doesn't say loners are dangerous"
You're right. They don't say it in so many words, but the implication is there nevertheless. Haven't you noticed? It's always the same, "He was a loner" whenever anyone does something wrong. So what? A lot of people are loners. If the fact that he was a loner had nothing to do with the crime he was about to commit, why even mention it?
Two ?s
cash strapped hmmm is it cheaper to buy WOMD than pay tuition?
Does anyone believe in Divine intervention in this case?
Not debating religion. Just asking.
WOMD?? Drama, much??
could have put the " WOMD" on a credit card since he planed to off him self anyway. And a 22 rifle is not a WMD.
1st of all, he may have purchased, (or obtained), the weapons years ago, as opposed to recently. It doesn't say. Only the ammo and a sling were "new".
Divine intervention. Don't think so. Why would a Divinity intervene here, but not elsewhere.....like a grammar school vs. a college. There is no such thing as Divine intervention.
ALLAHU AKBAR!!!
His name suggests he's of Indian descent! They don't do Allah.
Paki, Indian, Arab, all equally worthless and should not be living in the US!
youwish, most racists at least try to be a little more subtle, bit I guess you might as well own who you are.
youwish - No, I don't think any of us wish we were you! You've made nothing but blatantly racist remarks. "Darkies" ? REALLY? Are you stuck in the 50's? You're anti-non-white. "Mexicans mowing the grass"? Dang! Maybe you've been watching "All in the Family" reruns and worship Archie Bunker, a fictional character?
youwish In your thought process nether are Europeans or anyone that was not originally here when the Continent was so called discovered.
So, you wish. Did your ancestors wear war paint and live in tepees? If not, you have no argument.
Hmm.. All "injuns" living in teepees w painted faces and getting drunk till break of dawn huh? Hahahaha! You know, at least I know I'm a racist and freely admit to it. You on the other hand live in fear but in reality you are a scum bag! You would cringe at the sight of a negro living in your neighborhood, god forbid you yourself move to a black neighborhood, you'd soil yourself!! You're a riot. Please shut your trap, you're an imbecile at best. My ancestry is rather colorful, I wouldn't be surprised to find one of them painted faces as one of my ancestors. So eff you! Funny how you'd peg me as "White" since apparently racism and prejudice is a monopoly of Whitey! You are dumber than I thought! Facebook is for teens, d0vcheb@g!!!
If he really wanted to make it a "School Massacre" he wouldn't have emptied out the dorm. If he really wanted to kill anyone but himself, he would have shot his roommate when he had opportunity. Police, even university police would not have been there quick enough to keep the guy from running and having a shooting spree. He had probably 5 minutes to do whatever he wanted before anyone showed up. I think this is yet another example of media spin. I though weapons (handguns, rifles and homemade bombs) were not permitted on campuses. Dormitories are considered to be part of the university campus, so a concern here would be how he had all this stuff in his dorm room in the first place. Seems to me universities should be running drug and gun/bomb dogs to search the dorms for this stuff or allow everyone to have them.
sounds good to me, we did all the time when I was in the military even our private autos.
I'd rather keep my 4th amendment rights.
no one says you have to live at the dorms and if it is in the agreement and you sign it it not illegal search. I am all for the forth amendment as with all the rest, every military base has the commanders authorization to search any and every vehicle. not unconstitutional and not unreasonable.
No, if he really wanted to have a massacre, he would do the alarm, but not before setting himself up in a shooter's nest on a rooftop with a high power rifle and scope
Do we really have to ask what drove him to this. Pick up the never ending line of depression our newspapers stuff into us, open your eyes to the sins and sadness in this world and its enough to drive one insane. I mean even Steven Hawkin is trying to convince us that there is no God. Geeezz, I used to admire him.
so the real question is by what magic do all of us keep what sanity we have left? By the grace of God?
And steven, how could you possibly question the miracle of it all when you look through the telescope? Our scientist are really stupid....
Some people see God as necessary and desirable; others see God as necessary and unlikely. That's just the way it will always be, so start dealing with it.
Name one indication that there IS "a God". Science can name, and prove, hundreds of indications that there isn't!
Some people see God as necessary and desirable; others see God as a man made entity for those who need it. (e.g., pomp and circumstance for the pope and all workings of the Catholic Church and all other religions).
The only thing religion has done for me is take my hard earned dollars, and make me realize my socioeconomic status within society. I feel less than equal going to Church, or should I say, going to Church makes me feel that others who are better off financially see me as less than good enough. I feel better about myself when I am not frequenting the company of those who place money above their God, and don't realize they are doing so.
Church has made me realize: "If you can't help yourself than no one will." The moral: "Save the money for yourself cause the Church isn't there for those who really need it. It is not the house of God but the house of the rich." Giving to the Church is gambling with money you can afford to lose, and is not an insurance policy that will help you in your time of need.
Karlene--Please! give it a rest!! This is about a 30-yr old who planned a mass murder, either was foiled or changed his mind, and sadly murdered himself. This is not about YOU.
I was 32 when I went to college, 12 years after high school, 3 years in the military, and 10 years living in Europe. I was cash strapped and I seldom talked to anyone on the telephone. What's wrong with that? It cost a lot of money to go to school, even back then. Especially if you were trying to get through school debt free which I did. Most of you can't imagine how cash strapped that really makes you. I'm willing to gather that wasn't his real problem, just a symptom of the real problem! I survived those conditions and I imagine most others do too!
This guy should have written the "How To" book for mass murderers.
Step 1: Put the muzzle of your weapon in your mouth.
Step 2: Pull trigger.
The End
Pulling that fire alarm alerted cops to an issue, kind of like the guy shot himself twice and he didn't know it.What kind of "bombs" did he have? He was a business major not a chemist and had an assault .22 . His life was off the tracks, probably burned all his bridges,no one interviewed parents yet?
Why would we want to hear from the parents? So they can tell us what a good boy he was? So they can tell us how it's all the fault of the media or some such nonsense? I know it's typical to put them on the Today show right away, but when there's a mass murderer (or conspiracy) The last people on Earth I want to hear from is the parents, who created the monster.
The "media" should stop publishing photos of these criminals....it just incites other losers who would kill/destroy to live in infamy.
my thoughts also. Their 15 min of fame
Give that man some guns..It is his right,,,,
Where is the liberal outcry over the mental health state of the youth in this country? Nothing to see here I guess because there wasn't a shooting involved other than his suicide and no assault rifles where found. Get rid of the bombs and put an AR in that backpack and all hell would break loose.
Why do you think mental health is a fundamental part of all proposals to address gun violence, especially President Obama's?
You want to get to the root of the problem, find out who these kids doctors are and what medicine they are prescribing.
The root of the problem is the ease with which people like him can get guns. Without guns they're relatively harmless. With guns they're deadly. We're just lucky this guy botched it.
Jock - Sorry, you believe everything your idiot president tells you, don't you.
some say without guns people are relatively harmless and yet the most dangerous thing he had was possibly the homemade explosives. maybe background checks for all lawn care or cleaning products? hardware supplies? our country is blessed that people haven't escalated to school bombings, let's pray this doesn't kick start it.
"Without guns they're relatively harmless"
Right, those home-made explosives are strictly decorative
enuff:
Idiot President??????? Really? REALLY?
Define idiot. I just looked it up, myself. You obviously must have meant something different, since you surely aren't one yourself. Right?
Jock they are not addressing the mental health issue only whether they can include a mental backgound in you check mental defective is illegal anyway they are fooling you to think they are doing something but just making more laws and not enforcing the ones one the book. and if they lie on the form that's illegal also
Ferrosynthesis
"Without guns they're relatively harmless"
I have a mental deviate bother he has done more damage with scissors, bread knife. shovels or bricks then he ever did with a firearm and yes my father had many in the closet but he didn't know how to load or operate them so he used whatever he could get his hands on. there was only one death, a neighbors dog but the emotional damage to my parents and siblings were heavy
I bring up mental health every day. Where are you? A lot of you scroll through the messages, and won't read one unless you see "gun nuts" or some other phrase that's used to incite a reaction.
One thing that's missing in this country is common sense. You said ban all lawn care products? No, but if someone like Timothy McVeigh went into a garden store, not being a landscaper or farmer, and bought a ton of fertilizer, it might ring a bell.
@ Thank you Soldiers:
The root of the problem is organized religion, which not only condones insanity, but actively encourages it. If we could get religion classified as insanity in the DSM-V, we could head-off a lot of these would-be murderers.
Instead, we are conditioned to overlook people like this guy because we see it all around us all the time; particularly on Sundays.
So, is "cash-strapped loner" the new terrorist profile? Well, that's gonna be a lot of Americans soon enough.
I agree, John Brown.
I seem to recall from my high school history days that "rugged individualism", "Horatio Alger", "the self-made man", and "manifest destiny" are American values.
Theodore Roosevelt, the angry young man who fled from New York to the Dakota badlands after his wife and mother died on the same day, would have been profiled, arrested, and thrown in jail in this time and day for some of the things he did.
It also just dawned on me that we lionize the super-heroes who, when confronted with struggle, go alone to their "cave" to plot their next move (e.g. Jesus, Superman, Batman, Iron Man, The Lone Ranger, etc.). I don't recall any of them seeking out advice or counseling except on rare occasions and then only from other loners (e.g. God, Jerrell, Robin, Jarvis, Tonto, etc.)
These profilers either have it wrong, or every male in the population should be suspect.
The police didn't prevent anything, in this case. If the man wanted to kill, he had plenty of time. He did the right thing, him vs innocent people, he shot himself.
