Videotaped sex abuse of toddler, other girls nets 20-year prison term

Newtown Police

David Csanadi, 36, sexually abused three female children of friends and kept videos of their ordeals at his home in Newtown, Connecticut.

A federal judge sentenced a Connecticut man to 20 years in prison for sexually abusing a toddler and two other young girls and videotaping the abuse.

Between 2006 and 2009, David Csanadi, 36, of Newtown, sexually abused the three female children of friends and kept the tapes at his home in Newtown, according to court.

Csanadi was charged with three counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

He pleaded guilty in November to one count of production of child pornography.

'Unspeakable crimes'
One victim was approximately 18 months old, another was 4-and-a-half years old at the time of the abuse and the third was identified as being under the age of 12, according to the U.S. Attorney, District of Connecticut.

"The sexual abuse of children and production of child pornography are detestable crimes, and the harsh reality of it all is that those who commit these unspeakable crimes live and work among us," said Kimberly Mertz, FBI Special Agent in Charge of the New Haven Division.

"The Connecticut Child Exploitation Task Force's devotion to identifying those who commit these monstrous crimes and to bringing them to justice remains, and always will remain, resolute.”

According to prosecutors, the abuse happened in his home in Newtown and in Rhode Island.

Csanadi has been detained in state custody since April 15, 2011, when he was arrested on three counts of first-degree sexual assault, three counts of risk of injury or impairing the morals of children, three counts of illegal sexual contact with a child, and one count of third-degree possession of child pornography.

Upon his release, Csanadi will be subject to 15 years of supervised release. He will be sentenced on state sexual abuse charges in April.

This 'sentence' is not nearly enough for the pain he has inflicted upon the victims or his families. America, we have become to soft on these types of crimes... 1 trial, 1 appeal, and if guilty, (which in this case..) 1 bullet. Enough is enough.

Three wishes for this guy.

1. I hope the big boys do to him what he did to the girls.

2. I hope he hates confined spaces.

3. I hope he is on a 20 year mission to commit suicide, but can't find a way.

ikissyou, don't worry although I agree with you. The over and under on this POS is 71/2 months in prison once it gets out children to include a toddler were involved. They will need a big bucket of bleach to clean up the mess when nature takes it's course. He will never serve the full term..............

What a total POS man.

They should castrate this guy and have his junk surgically implanted on his forehead since he "truly" is a dickhead.

I just do not get how a grown man can get off doing sh!t like this to innocent little children.

Hmmmmmmmm... The story doesn't mention how the authorities found out.

Hopefully his 20 year sentence will turn into a death sentence once he's in prison. I've heard that child molesters are not highly thought of by prison inmates.

What will it take for people to understand that a crime as sickening as this should get the death penalty. If video and pictures where fournd showing that he did this, then that is all the proof needed to execute him immediatly and not have to be concerned about his ever getting out of prison. My God, I am so tired of hearing about this type of crime being commited against children over and over. Wake up you liberal fools.

Another failure of justice to mete out appropriate punishment. 20 years is nothing compared to the abuse these children suffered. And the sick @!$%# videotaped it!?

He's not fit to be in society ever again. We need to reinstate special measures for these types by simply taking them to a hanging tree and be done with them.

For the life of me why is he not being put to death? please tell me why is he being kept alive? this man didn't make a mistake, he set out to hurt these children, what can you do to a 14month old and a 4 1/2 year old or 12 year old that could bring any type of sexual enjoyment, and he only got 20 year's I don't understand; again what is he being kept alive for to do this time and time again, next time he will (KILL) them because as soon as he get out he will do it again, some crime's need death and this is one of them, why are we so soft on crime, when a person do some crime's no talk is needed only death! and we wonder why we have such vile crime because we encourage it.

So he has been awaiting sentencing for about 2 years? Here's an idea, abolish segregation and protective custody for sex criminals. This would have been over years ago. Why wait?

People, we control this country (although that is debatable). If you think that these type of sentances for these heinous crimes are too light, write your elected officials then hold them to account. If a bill is presented in a state legislature for stricter punishment for rapists and pedophiles, and your representative doesn't vote for it, make a stink. Let it be known that we will not tolerate this.

Frankly, this "man" should never again be free, unless it is in death.

Whining on a news comment thread does nothing, and if we continue to just be armchair activists, nothing will ever change.

The power is in our hands, make it happen.

He was allowed to plead down to ONE CHARGE.

He will not serve the twenty years if he exhibits good behavior.

He will re-offend when he is released, because the 15 years of supervision is a damned lie. We don't have the money in the budget to hold illegal aliens or to keep our armed forces up to snuff, or to keep law enforcement personnel on the streets. There's no way in hell we're going to supervise this pedophile, and while he's in prison he will learn new and better ways to avoid being caught when he gets out.

While in prison, to protect HIS rights, he will be kept out of general population so that he will be safe and sound for release when his time is up. He is not convicted of being a violent felon.... remember, on paper, he is merely convicted of producing pornography, which is not a violent crime.

He will do, at most, five to seven years.

This is why vigilante justice as a concept will never die out in the hearts and minds of decent people who would like to believe in, and live by, the concept of law and order.

Bob - silly guy, dont you know America is too lazy to be actively involved in civics?

It's just so much easier to bitch and moan on vines, like this, and pretend like we are patriotic in the process, for exercising our right to free speech.

But to take effort, to contact our elected officials, urge them to make the laws make more sense (why should a person smoking pot get a longer sentence than a guy raping kids?) and then to hold the elected officials accountable, why, thats requires EFFORT....and for americans who prefer the easy button, well, thats just a whole lot of work.

we're too fat, lazy, unconcerned to actually do something about things that outrage us.

TRUTH.

I like that idea Pandora, personally if I had found out it was my baby he molested, he'd be a dead man before the police even got to him. I would take him out in the worst way possible. It's terrible that he only received 20 years, in instances where there is NO doubt that he committed these crimes (he recorded himself doing them) he should either be given a life sentence or a bullet to the head. Those 3 children are going to be victims for the rest of their lives. I can only hope with counseling and a good family support structure that they are going to be able to live normal productive lives. Criminals should never be protected or given more rights then those victimized in instances where there is no doubt of the crime.

The veil is slowly being lifted of the "Quiet", perfect little town of Newtown, CT....

After the school shooting, the press made a coordinated effort to make Newtown into some kind of Norman Rockwell painting...I'm certain there are many fine people that live there but every town has it's sicko's and perverts and drug dealers and addicts. Some towns just hide it better than others....What a great cover for some homegrown jihadist terrorist sleepers...doing the small town American thing, waiting for the call to action....Anyone's neighbor may not be who they think they are....

Face it people, we will never kill them. Rights activists would come out and stop any attempt at passing such things. The best possible option would be to give him live without the possibility of parole, and have him work 12 hours a day, giving all the money he would make to the victims, and only getting food and a bed in return. No one is killed, but money will be going to the victims, and he'll be forced to work everyday until he drops dead.

I would also slid a rope into his cell, but that's just me. lol

I don't like sharing the story I'm going to post now because it is a part of my life worth forgetting -but for the sake of educating people about how the "justice" system works and the threat against our society, I will tell it with hopes that you will quit relying on the "justice" system and other criminals to fix these predators.

I was cursed with a family member that is a pedophile. He started exhibiting signs when he was 12 years old. He molested almost every female in my family. None of them realized he was molesting/raping the other until they became adults. He raped girlfriends, he tortured animals, he raped boys as well. When we finally spoke up, we were told "don't say such things about your family". They knew it, they didn't want to deal with it. He grew up, he moved out, he continued molesting kids at every opportunity and only God knows what else. After his first stint for molesting a young boy, he kidnapped and brutally raped a 12 year old girl. His term was 8 years. He was put in Washington State's pedophile "correction" program, in it's early stages then, and whined about how they tortured him - the program was a complete joke, read up on it. During this stint, he married a woman with an 5-year old daughter, he was allowed conjugal visits every few months, was given musical equipment and a studio to record songs, could buy Levi jeans and Doritos in the commissary and had visitors in a room more like a cafeteria than the one-on-one glass stalls you see in other prisons. During visits, the other inmates who were also murderers, rapists and pedophiles were allowed to freely mingle with other inmates and their families. The women who marry these men during their prison term are a spectrum - from welfare moms to professionals. There is no "Bubba" in these prisons; these men are segregated for their protection. He was released on good behavior 6 months early. He came back to the city of his first crimes, started doing drugs, drinking until he blacked out, all the while making contact with family members (his fist victims), - most of whom had small children. Much to my disbelief, some of them allowed him in their homes, with their kids present, and never warned their spouses of the danger sitting across the dinner table from them. He is currently back in prison for brutally raping a woman who he called a prostitute (claiming she wanted it); she was a meth addict he met in a bar. His defense attorney told him the best thing that could happen to him is if she died - and she did, from her addiction shortly after his trial. After serving only 18 months, he is now facing civil commitment by the state under the 3-strikes law. He feels he is a victim.

This story should disturb anyone who thinks our justice system served its purpose and compensated his victims. It did nothing for the victims who didn't get their day in court nor will it stop him if the civil commitment doesn't stick. Wake up and do something! Our nation is overrun by these whacks because there is no cure and there is no punishment or correction program that can fix them yet we just keep putting them back on the streets. Crimes of this nature against our kids deserve the death penalty or at least life commitment. Thinking they will "get what they deserve", that "Bubba will take care of them" or that lopping off their nuts will stop them is so far from the reality, it's not even funny. We must demand legislation that will get these animals off the streets for good. There should be no second chance because you can bet that the first time they got caught was not the first time they committed the crime.

That serious about turning the whole topic down the child molesting priest road?.....everything goes back to religion and politics in here....you could post something about chickens laying purple eggs and somebody will tie it to child molesting christian priests or politicians eventually.....laughable really.

I was keeping it general. Chick took a stab at a very specific group of people. I don't think it matters where the chesters come from....what matters is what we do with them....and I say grind them up into cat food...regardless of whether they are priests, 35 year olds dressed like teenagers, or dudes in tights and capes....doesn't matter....these chesters come from all walks of life...why take a stab at only one group, that was my point.

You can bash priests if you want to but......all white people are not evil, not all black people are poor, and not ALL priests are child molesters....laughable.

New laws should be created that require all child molesters, rapists, and murderers be executed.

Our government catches these people and just sends them right back out to live among us....incurable, subhuman, seriously disturbed people...they catch them, stick them in a cage, which screws them up even further, and then just lets them walk free back out among us.

..and they will continue this type of twisted jazz until we fight back. Sometimes "justice" is not enough. Sometimes the problem has to be eliminated, not just contained.

Hisholyname - God seemingly doesn't care about children - isn't He all powerful? Couldn't He stop this before it happened? Where did God say not to mess with little children - didn't He provide 10 commandments, none of which mention children, but are sure to mention Him and honoring Him and parents...but nothing about kids. In Deutoronomy, it states to stone your children to death if they disobey.

Plus, all this sick pervert has to do is accept God as his savior and truly apologize to God for his sins and he could be sitting in your heaven, according to God's rules.

Jesus said it would be better to tie a milestone around your neck and throw yourself in the ocean than to harm a child. If you are going to try to turn this thread into an anti-christian one, at least don't be so damn ignorant.

The sentences for crimes like this one are way too lenient. It's time for new law, federal law, so that the entire country can protect its children from criminals like this degenerate.

I have had friends who have worked in prisons. People like this aren't always protected as much as people think. Many of the guards are disgusted, and accidently miss some guys who happen in upon him in the shower. Hopefully, some guards turn their heads when Bubba and pals find him alone.

A more fitting sentence would be to cut off his dick, hands, and tongue. Pedophiles only serve an average of 6 yrs for their crimes, regardless of how many counts they are convicted of.

What I don't understand is the need. C'mon, most adults enjoy (consensual) sex, and it is a very wonderful thing. But for most of us, our lives do not revolve around the next time we are to get it. We work, live life, take care of our families, travel, drive, go home, connect with our (consenting and mutual) person of loving interest, and go from there.

Pedophiles go after children, anytime/anywhere, who know nothing of consent, age or permission, let alone the general living of (adult) life. The pedophiles are predators who will stop at nothing to fulfill their sexual urges. I just don't get how that craving can be so much a demand of one's life.

Unfortunately, no known "cure," except death, exists. Perhaps the only cure should be applied.

I've been in corrections for 25 years and trust me, he will do his time in protective custody and be released to continue. Remember, everyone beleives in the death penalty, they just don't like the state doing it. If this man were shot by the police on the spot, no one would have questioned his death once they learned what he was doing. It is only after 20 years on death row do people (for some unexplained reason) have an issue with executions. He should have been executed on the spot, especially since the evidence was at the scene of the crime.

Let out all the individual pot smokers and have the room to get creeps like him life sentences in solitary, no parole, no TV or Internet and no visitors so no porn can be smuggled in. That is, if we're too feckless as a society to kill worthless scum like him.

Why not just execute all the indivual pot smokers as well. After all, they'll probably repeat once they're finally released.

In fact, why not mandatory execution for anyone convicted of a felony? It would sure save on prison costs.

Wouldn't that be a good thing?

Oh Severed Head, what a simpleton you are. Is smoking marajuana the same as raping a baby? No. Are other felonies the same as raping a toddler and video taping it? No. There are slected cases for the death penalty and people are arguing that raping toddlers and infants be added to the list. The majority agree!

It is logic such as yours that keeps pedophiles on the streets doing what they love to do.

let's hope the state charges sentence gives him more time in prison. A person who abuses an 18mo and a 4 1/2yr child are disgusting and they will not change even after 20 yrs in prison. Let's hope he gets the same abuse in prison that he gave these children. It takes an evil person to do what he did. I think there is a special place in hell for these type of people. I just hope the children are able to cope with what they have been through.

On the condition that all politicians give their guns up, have no armed guards, or weapons at home or otherwise and all law enforcement turn in their guns. That criminals turn in their weapons and promise not to make a weapon that will harm anyone.
