A New York couple has been arrested and accused of plotting to babysit children as a cover to drug and sexually abuse them, federal prosecutors said.
Special agents with the FBI and NYPD detectives arrested Bebars Baslan, 35, and Kristen Henry, 25, from Brooklyn, on Tuesday night at a hotel in Jersey City, N.J.
Prosecutors say they believed they were going there to meet an acquaintance and three children, including a 1-year-old and a 3-month-old baby, that the group was planning to drug with children's Benadryl and take sexually explicit photos.
Prosecutors say that acquaintance was actually an informant who had contacted authorities last month to report that the couple possessed child pornography and were planning to open a babysitting business to find victims to abuse.
According to the criminal complaint, the informant then began working with the FBI to record phone calls and obtain other evidence.
In one recorded conversation, Baslan allegedly told the informant about drugging children before abusing them: "Trust me, all what I'm doing, nothing is going to be, no memories, nothing."
The meeting planned for Jersey City was so that Baslan could get incriminating pictures of Henry before they began the business, the complaint said. He wanted collateral, and wanted to take pictures of her sexually abusing the baby.
When the informant said he was concerned about the effect of the abuse on the baby, Baslan allegedly told him "if it's one minute he won't even know what's going on."
Baslan and Henry are charged with aggravated sexual abuse and face 30 years to life in prison. Their lawyers had no comment.

Their lawyers are only there to try and get them the least amount of years behind bars. There is no defense here.

Let us hope Bubba's cell door is "accidentally" opened and real justice is served. A nice rope slid under their cell afterwards at lights out will be a good option and save taxpayers the expense of feeding both POS........

Let's award this informant A PURPLE HEART - or at the very least, the highest civilian service award possible - for protecting children......

Hey folks .. we live in a nation of over 350, 000, 000 people .. with that many people odds tell us some horrendous things will happen ... as humans we want to protect our own .... but if we continuously overreact to statistical abnormalities in our society (country) we are going to box ourselves in to the absurd point! ... Give them a lawful trial and lock them away for the appropriate penalty ..
The appropriate penalty would be to lock them up...at the bottom of a shark tank.

This disgusts me more than I can say. There are some truly evil people in the world and we've just seen two of them. I wouldn't be surprised if they have no redeeming values at all.
Mr. Baslen.... the torture that awaits a sex offender like yourself in prison is a fate worse than death. Do yourself a favor and off yourself at your earliest convenience.
That's not real justice, that's vigilante justice. It's prisoner retribution. I'm OK with it, but I prefer it to be labelled correctly.

Don't get your hopes up. The man who actually raped a baby and two other young ones, video taped it and put it on the Internet was allowed to plead it down to pornography charges and only got 20 years. Which means he isn't even charged as a violent offender.
Which means he can walk out in five to seven with good behavior.
Plea deals, the life blood of lawyers and sex offenders.

ya know, at first I was gonna agree with you.....and then it occurred to me that it would be much more satisfying to send them to prison---people who hurt children are the lowest on the prison food chain. hehehehe....they'll be fodder for every hard-core bad guy (or girl) in the pen. they'll get back tenfold any abuse they inflicted on those babies

Hummmmmmmm, Moonbeemracer, nobody is advocating any such measures. There are a few, understandably emotional, "hang'm high" responses. But most people are just pleased that, through the actions of the unnamed informant, these two creeps were prevented from harming small children, and are probably facing some serious jail time.

Sick!!! Parents really need to know who they hand their children (babies) over to. It's so hard to fathom this act of drugging and taking sexually explicit photos of babies.

Because as American's, we are bound by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. When we thank our Veterans for fighting wars "to protect our rights and freedoms", part of that includes the right to a fair trial.
The American Justice system isn't perfect, but its more fair than just about any other country. We should never compromise that for anyone, no matter how repulsive. Not for a POS like Tim McVeigh, Ted Bundy, JW Gacy, or these two animals.

What is it going to take to get people to realise this is not going to change until a law is enacted that specifically states if you are involved with or engage in the abuse of a child, sexual or physically you will be executed. I want the executions in the public square and it must take place immediately if the POS is found guilty without any doubt, also I do not care what age the abuser is. This must be stopped. These things must know that if they abuse a child and they are caught, they are going to die. Period.
That won't stop them. They will still try to find a way to do it. The death penalty isn't much of a deterrent.
Sound like an excellent tool for women divorcing their husbands. Should a woman want full custody, all she needs to do is make up a lie about the husband sexually abusing the kids. Off he goes. Well, at least the fathers who can only afford a public defender.

30+ years for something like this is certainly not enough. These people are simply broken. They can't be "cured"; theirs is not a condition that can be "managed". I can't say execute them because I don't trust our legal system to get it right, but, IMO, these offenses should carry a "life without" potential.
Thank God that someone not only reported them but was also willing to step up and actually make sure these nonhumans were caught quickly.

Yes, I believe they will stand in judgement before God. However, I believe it is our job to arrange the meeting. How can you ask "who are you to cast judgement"? This is one crime I don't even think deserves a trial.. just take them out an shoot them. ANyone who can abuse a baby or small child is not even 'human' they are worse than a monster. The only thing better than shooting them is to put them in prison and turn them over to the jail population.

It's a repulsive crime, no doubt. I understand the emotional comments and responses. But I'm still keeping the big picture in sight. If they can take a fair trial away from these scum bags, they can take a fair trial away from other people too, possibly someone who has been wrongfully accused.
I hope they get very long prison sentences, AFTER a jury of their peers convicts them in a fair trial.

There are some sick women in this world too. Men aren't always the evil ones..there was a girl who lived in the same apartment building with my mother, across the hall actually, who was sexually abusing an 8 yr old boy. Her boyfriend was into kicking down doors and beating up elderly people and taking their valuables... my point? She was just as evil as he was, in my mind she was actually worse...
So I hope that they both rot in prison then hell for what they were planning... And I'm happy the informant did something about it rather than decide that he/she shouldn't get involved... need more people like him in the world!!
