The brother of ailing country superstar Randy Travis was arrested Tuesday and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.
David Brownlow Traywick, 50, of Marshville, North Carolina, was due to appear in Union County District Court on Wednesday.
The Union County Sheriff's Office said Traywick was being held on $500,000 secured bond.
NBC station WCNC reported that investigators alleged that "a working meth lab" had been found inside Traywick's home.
Traywick's wife Jessica and two other women were also arrested, according to WCNC.
Travis, 54, was placed on life support after being hospitalized on July 7 with a viral illness that affected his heart. He suffered a stroke three days later.
On Monday, Travis' doctor said the Grammy-winning singer had "responded well" to surgery and was "interacting with his family and friends."
