Attack over, Kenyan authorities take stock
Authorities started the grim task of recovering bodies from the ruins of a mall in Kenya's capital on Wednesday, after at least 67 people were killed there during a four-day hostage standoff. Another cold case found in the depths
Skeletal remains discovered Tuesday in a car found wheels-up in a South Dakota creek were those of two teenage girls who disappeared 42 years ago. Cheryl Miller and Pamella Jackson, both 17 and both from Vermillion, were last seen May 29, 1971, as they were on their way to a party. Read more at NBC News.
Army to crack down on tattoos
Uncle Sam wants you – with a little less ink. New U.S. Army recruits will not be permitted to sport tattoos below their elbows and knees or above their necklines, according to a new report from a military publication. The ban, part of broader new rules on grooming and appearance for soldiers, has been approved by Secretary of the Army John McHugh and is awaiting his final signature. Read more at NBC News.

Island rises amid earthquake's destruction
Mud houses in the mountains crumbled as a 7.7-magnitude earthquake shook western Pakistan early on Tuesday, but the quake created as well as destroyed. Residents on the coastal region of Gwadar saw a solitary island rise from Arabian Sea, a 100-foot-long rock raised by the earth’s shift. Read more at NBC News.
