• Sources: Alleged stalker approached Hugh Jackman with razor, said 'we should be married'

    A 47-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with stalking actor Hugh Jackman.

    According to police sources, Kathleen Thurston approached Jackman outside a gym in the West Village Saturday, pulled out an electric razor and said to the actor "we should be married."

    Jackman told Thurston not to touch him and went inside the gym. Thurston tried to follow him inside, but was stopped by staff at the gym, sources said. Thurston then dropped the razor and ran off. She was arrested several blocks away.

    Jackman told police he had seen Thurston outside his daughter's school and again outside his home on Perry Street on Friday.

    Source say Thurston appears to have serious psychological issues. Her last known address was a homeless shelter.

  • Cops investigate Chris Brown after alleged fight over parking space

    Updated at 7:30 p.m. ET: Grammy-winning singer Chris Brown is being investigated following an alleged fight over a parking space in West Hollywood, police said early Monday.

    Authorities responded to a call of a fight involving six males on Santa Monica Boulevard, the LA County Sheriff's Department said in a statement.

    "Deputies talked to witnesses who stated that Chris Brown and the victim were involved in an altercation over a parking space," the statement added. "The altercation allegedly led to Chris Brown punching the victim."

    Brown had already left when officers arrived, police said.

    The police say that according to witnesses, Brown punched R&B artist Frank Ocean in the fight. Steve Whitmore, the LA County Sheriff's spokesman, said that no charges have been filed against Brown yet, but that Ocean "is desirous of prosecution in this incident."


    Police said they had not yet been in contact with Brown, and the singer's rep has not released a comment. No arrests have been made.

    Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe lost his way kayaking in the waters off New York's Long Island and was picked up by a U.S. Coast Guard boat and ferried to a harbor, officials said Sunday.

    The 48-year-old actor was kayaking with a friend and launched from Cold Spring Harbor Saturday afternoon on the Long Island Sound, according to U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Robert Swieciki. As it got dark, the two got lost and headed for shore, beaching their kayaks in Huntington Bay, nearly 10 miles east from where they had set out.

     The U.S. Coast Guard was patrolling the area and heard Crowe call out to them from the shore around 10 p.m., Swieciki said. The "Gladiator" actor and his friend, who Swieciki didn't recognize, paddled over to the boat. The Coast Guard officers pulled them up and, along with their kayaks, gave them a ride to Huntington Harbor.

    "He just needed a little bit of help, he just got a little lost," Swieciki said. "It wasn't really a rescue, really, more of just giving someone a lift."

    Swieicki said no one was injured, and the two men were wearing life vests. He said the actor, who was grateful and friendly, seemed like he was a fairly experienced kayaker.

    Crowe, who starred in the 2003 naval film "Master and Commander," sent a Twitter message about 1:30 a.m. Sunday thanking the officers, and saying he was out on the water four and a half hours. 

    "Thanks to Seth and the boys from the US Coast Guard for guiding the way...4 hrs 30 mins, 7m(11.2km)," he wrote.

    Crowe is on Long Island filming a new movie called "Noah" in Oyster Bay. The biblical epic is directed by Darren Aronofsky and scheduled for release in 2014.

    Crowe won an Academy Award for best actor for his role as a Roman soldier called Maximus in "Gladiator."

  • Reports: FBI probes death threats against 'Dog the Bounty Hunter'

    Death threats against TV bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman and his family are being probed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, according to reports.

    The threats were emailed to the Chapmans over a four-day period, sources close to the family told Hawaii News Now.

    The emails, which were published in full by Radar Online, contain graphic and disturbing content involving sexual violence aimed at Chapman’s daughters.

    'In cold blood'
    The site said Hawaii-based Chapman, who is known as "Dog the Bounty Hunter" and stars in a reality show on A&E, received an email on April 30 which read: "I'm going to murder you. I'm going to come to Hawaii and murder you and your family in cold blood. You are next on my list and are the bane of society. I will deliver you to God."


    Another email reportedly said: "I have a rather nasty vendetta against you and your family."

    Hawaii News Now reported the Los Angeles FBI field office referred the case to the Honolulu FBI field office. However, authorities said they were unable to confirm or deny the existence of any investigation unless or until any charges were filed.

    In a statement, the Chapman family said they were "taking these threats seriously."

    “Field of Dreams” is one of the few movies that actually moved me to tears when I saw it in the theater. I know it’s corny, but it still does. I can’t stop myself from watching whenever I run across it while channel surfing late-night television. Who can resist ghosts, baseball and believing in the impossible?

    It appears that the town where the movie was shot continues to wrestle with one of the central questions of the movie. Dyersville, Iowa is considering a $38 million plan to turn the farmland around the famous cornfield diamond into a marquee destination for traveling youth baseball teams. While the plan could provide an economic lift to the region, it also has unleashed an emotional battle as the town of 4,000 tries to decide if they should build it.

    In 1982, screenwriter Phil Robinson became interested in the novel "Shoeless Joe."  He recognized the potential for this heartwarming story and looked for a setting for the film.  In the early months of 1988, Robinson came upon the Lansing farm near Dyersville and said, "That's it!  That's my farm!"  The movie produced was called "The Field of Dreams," starring Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones.  Today the site is well maintained and visited by many baseball enthusiasts.
